ANYONE IN DEP WITH ANY OF THE PACT AND WANT TO CHANGE READ THIS: Ask your recruiter to submit a DAR "DEP Action Request" which is where you give them 3 rates that you want and they put in a request to get you changed. I was originally an A PACT and was able to switch over to AV. You have a better chance if you dont ship out for a few months, if you ship out next week dont expect anything to happen. There is always a chance for you to change and not ship as undesignated!!!

In my opinion, never go in undesignated. If they will not give you school go to another branch I went in as an advance engineering program E3. I went to a school and something happened to me in the middle of a school that changed my mind about the military, I decided I wanted out. They let me go from school and sent me to the fleet as an undesignated E3. I do not have any military schools in anyway I almost did my entire enlistment as an undesignated E3. I guess I was lucky and in the last three months I picked up E4. So I know I did 44 months as an E3. I really should’ve gotten out.

I just got back from my first det and it was awesome I loved it. Met so many cool people and experienced so so much. I am actually glad I am undes airman bc it gives me more leverage, time and options to see where I want it to take me. Hope that makes sense

I'm a Pact Semen, and I go to start striking for a rate in June of 2020. I've been told that when it's time pick a rate, dont put anything down you dont want. A few semen got stuck being BMs cause one month they'd just put BM down as their 3rd choice cause they couldn't think of anything else.

Hey Shim quick question, I’m currently in the DEP program and ship in March 2020, but my blood pressure was high at MEPs and required me to get 3 consecutive readings by my local doctor. I’m wondering if they will check my blood pressure again at bootcamp, and if I might be medically separated at RTC if that is the case. you can work on planes. I am an APACT Sailor and I got to work in media for 6 months completely in media department. It is up to you and your ability to make connections with people on the boat where you want to work. Meet people and ask about getting some OJT with them.

My Name Isn't Blaze it’s a easy process now you just pick top 3 jobs you qualified on your job sheet. You don’t have to switch over to undes surface anymore to pick a surface rate. I just pick OS for all my top 3 and I received it. It’s real easy to pick up OS you’ll be fine just put in the work as a undes get all the qualifications as possible.
