- Venice, Los Angeles - March 7, 2024: In a significant turn of events within the efforts to address homelessness and maintain public safety, Los Angeles Police Department officers arrested a homeless man suspected of stabbing two other homeless individuals. The arrest took place at the same homeless encampment on Lincoln Boulevard where the violent incidents occurred, underscoring the challenges and complexities of policing in areas affected by homelessness.
The man, now in custody, faces potential charges that could range from attempted murder to assault with a deadly weapon, highlighting the severity of the situation. The decision on the specific charges is pending, with law enforcement authorities closely reviewing the details of the case.
This arrest occurred during a scheduled cleanup operation of the encampment, conducted by the City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works in collaboration with Clean Harbors Environmental Inc. The initiative, part of a broader city effort to manage the homelessness crisis while ensuring the cleanliness and health of public spaces, emphasizes the city's multi-faceted approach to addressing complex social issues.
The cleanup operation involved detailed planning and execution, with workers wearing protective suits and following strict safety protocols. The community had been notified 48 hours in advance, advising individuals to clear personal belongings, with the warning that remaining items would be removed. A 15-minute grace period was provided for the homeless to move their belongings, after which law enforcement and Los Angeles Sanitation workers cleared the area, carefully separating hazardous from non-hazardous materials.
The collaboration between city departments, the LA Homeless Services Authority, and Councilwoman Traci Park's team was instrumental in the operation's success. The Los Angeles Police Department ensured the safety of all involved, conducting the arrest without issuing citations under camping ordinances, and reinforcing the city's commitment to tackling homelessness with compassion and respect for legal and health standards.
This comprehensive approach, balancing immediate action with long-term solutions, reflects Los Angeles's dedication to addressing homelessness, public health, and safety in an integrated and humane manner.

Thank you, Gary...I was going to ask why that tent was left. this particular group of people really accumulates lots of garbage every week
Why do these people keep coming back to the EXACT same spot and then continue to act surprised when the cops come at the EXACT same time one week later to clear them out again?!! I can’t imagine being a housed resident in that community and having to deal with that on the regular. I can only have sympathy to a point. Especially when these people have been offered many services but turn them down for reasons I can only speculate.
They only care about the drugs, all sence of morality and law abiding go right out the window, the addiction to opiods like fentanyl is so strong they literally do not care if it kills them, then they become a danger to themselves and others, and realistically belong in psychatric hospitals, but those in power will not to this, they call it unethical to lock someone up against thier will in psychatric care no matter how addicted and out of control they get, they instead provide out patent care, but most addicts do not cooperate with this, Those rich city employees live in wealthy neighbourhoods, and do not see the rampant crime and drug abuse in person like lower income residents who live near areas like this see regularly, my apartment building is right across the street from a government run homeless housing unit that want up a few years ago, and the crime rate has sky rocketed around the neighborhood since it opened, fires, fights, constant overdosing and unfortunately gun violence and even murder, a woman was killed just last month near the homeless shelter, and even dispite that, the shelter will not be closed down and continues to opetate, See, officials do not care about people who work and live in these areas, it's all about sympathy for the homeless, even though most are dangerious drug addicted criminals who won't listen to rules, this is why I no longer have sympathy for them, they can all rot in hell as far as I am concerned...
Why are you allowing them so much time. It's just a junk!!!!!DISCUSTING
Wait...I have to pay around $175/month to Waste Management to have them pick up my trash and how come the homeless get better service for free?????????
Plus, you're paying for the cleanup in your taxes. 🐂💩
Tweaker junk collecting like this is known as ‘punding’.
All night, high as kites, diving dumpsters, garbage cans & apartment move out sidewalk dumping ‘ground scores’.
‘I can FIX this!’
I can TRADE this!’
All for drug $.
Well said!
Los Angeles clean up crews are outstanding worker's. I wouldn't want to have thier jobs but I guess it's job security with all the homeless there. Good job cleaning up the place.
The amount of crap these people collect each week is crazy. It's all trash. 3 carts, a wagon, bins and 2 dogs. and still are leaving a ton behind.
Them shopping carts cost about 500 dollars. Cause when i worked at the grocery store manager always told us to go get them carts out the parking lot
When I worked for a grocery chain, they paid me overtime to go fish carts out of the stream across the road people would throw them in.
It's all about the "quality of life" you want folks. You have your choice and the druggies have their's. Ain't it great?
Every week these people get all this sht .they post the signs for Thursday . Get mad when police say 5 minutes.I WOULD TELL THEM NEXT WEEK IF Y'ALL ARE STILL HERE THERE WILL NO TIME TO GET YOUR STUFF.
It’s unreal how much crap they drag in a week. Is the dump close by?
Such a disaster it is becoming in many cities across north america, streets full of addicts that will not follow the rules and attend rehabilitation.
They caught Cap'n Stabby !! What time was he released?
Keep up the great work !! I appreciate it .
Pobres perritos😢💔Dios cuídalos 🙏🙏
No dumpster pick up needed this week in Santa Monica.
People out there moving very well
Used to be a true gem, now a SHITHOLE
I see the dumpster diving is still rampant
He's probably already back out on the street..
Wow! They are really incapable of taking care of themselves. Give them their mini-home, if they screw up there make them wards of the state like we do for orphans.
How many stolen bikes can the homeless accumulate?
WHY DO YOU LET THIS GO FROM THURSDAY TO THURSDAY!!!!!
MAKES NO SENSE!!!!!!!!!
""King Osirus" ->Because You Would Run Out of Food To Eat! ->Class Do You Have Anymore Questions?
Since you video all the time, please tell us you view on how they collect so much in just one week.
Why is it always the same section of sidewalk in front of the Whole Foods on Lincoln? Do something to stop this!
So, back again and with even more trash way to go Venice! I actually feel sorry for the animals I hope they are not stolen too!
Waste of taxpayer money. Thanks to liberalism.
What is your solution?
This has continued through both side’s seats & jurisdictions.
There’s virtually no difference between rightwing wealthy & DNC wealthy.

wow, the tent is still good
@ 28:22 🤢 Crazy amount of stuff again.
Crazy how much trash is just piled up. How much stuff does a homeless person need anyways? 🤔
Omg and they even have 2 dogs? What on earth
People need to stop putting all their stuff they don't want at the curb so the homeless can come pick it up and hoard it. Your town will be a lot cleaner❤
😮mg!!! I hope Daisy is safe!!! 🙏.
What does this have to do with Daisy? Nothing 😐
""King Osirus" ->Great Observation and Reporting.
How do they afford the camping tents
They get them for free from the nonprofits that suck up taxpayers money.
Do-gooders thinking they're helping.
Surprised havent seem a cart with handle bars welded to it, sprocket with chain driven rear wheel drive differential, driver custom seat inside cart. Rolling rolls royce phantom.
Santa Monica used to be great la is a hellhole now thanks newsom
Did you guys see? they told a man since he had a BAD FOOT he could stay right there and contribute to using people's tax money to CLEAN UP THEIR MESS, now this is a shame only because this man is clearly LYING, because look at what is hanging beside his tent A BIKE. If he has a bad foot, how could he be riding a BIKE! WOW LA SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO STUPID. Watch almost at the end of this video, to see what was said.
Someone must have had an arrest warrant outstanding because the handcuffs clicked and someone was taken away stupidly, but if he lives on the street, he can be happy if he gets arrested, he has 3 meals a day and it's dry and warm in prison😂😂😂😄
How many police hours were burned up in this filmed demonstration????????????
😢 someone needs to film them, moving all that stuff on the sidewalks 🤯🤯🤯 crazy, homeless, and yet they can get all that stuff in less than a week. Bet that smells really bad 😢
Omg yikes again and again these homeless people keep camping on the side walk making such a mess and that poor dogs it never ends this problem.
Isn't this where the rental bikes were ?
Now anyone that doesn’t want to move all they have to do is complain or make up an excuse, that they have a sore foot and that will allow them to get away with it for another week😂😂
👏
The homeless sure have a lot of junk
the great american pastime mountain dew and syringes
Must be he'll living on the skids! Meth over anything!
Shiesty mask = jail
aw yes life in liberal society, isn't it great?
Some local entrepreneur should work with Waste Management and start a shopping cart recovery business then sell those carts back to the store they came from for ½ the cost of a new one. (Of course, they'd probably have to disinfect the cart beforehand.) 🛒🛒🚿🧽🧴
How many stolen bikes can the homeless accumulate?
Homeless Hoarders…I think that’s got reality show potential written all over it. 😂
Haven't you heard? theft is legal now just as long you can't pay your court fees
The "bikes" are currentcy 🍟
