Wow you guys pushed some k's out, very impressive. I had been looking forward to watching this video and it hasn't dissapointed, beautifully done. Love the lighthearted dynamics between the three of you.
Prior to the trip I was having trouble deciding the best way to split up the trip. I settled on this break down as I thought it maximised the time best. When at home looking at the topo map you can some times get a little over enthusiastic haha.
Always had big agnes tents, iv got the copper spur hv ul 2, wonderful for the money. Just ordered the expedition for this winter in the UK Mountains. Nice channel, keep on adventuring 🗻⛺️
Awesome adventure! I hope Radix and Real Meals sponsored you - that is a huge cost for all that dihi! Our family did an over night at Angelus Hut 4th Jan 2023 - was going to stay another night but mist came in and never went so we went back down via Speargrass. The camera walk setups must have added a few km to the trip but appreciate the effort :)
The convenience is worth it to me especially on more intense trips. Great products. I think all my camera gear and electronics add up to 3kg or so. Thanks for watching 👍.
Great Video, stunning country, real nice swimming spots, great trip, beautifully videoed and fantastic editing, a joy to watch. Thank you again for sharing your trip. Amazing, Cheers, and all the best to you all for the rest of this year!!!
What a beautiful video. Thank you for sharing your adventure with us. Absolutely Amazing how you were able to do all that climbing up and down the mountains ⛰️. Ya’ll are amazing. 🤗💕
Just found your channel and loving the content - particularly like how you revel in conditions that would make most folks cancel a trip. Makes great viewing.... thanks.
This is the 2nd time I've viewed this video ad it gets better all the time! I'm a Nelsonian and have ramped over much of Nelson Lakes but always wondered what Thompson Pass would be like. Now I know! A fantastic trip (the best says Abel) and great videophotography! Thank you guys. From Old Pete.
amazing trip! I am enjoying this channel at the fullest ! Watching some of the videos with wifey hoping I'll convince her to join me camping and hiking in remote places:) ! She is too afraid of the wilderness ... You and Victoria are a great team! Good luck!
Great video, I tramped some of that area in the mid 1960's. Brings back wonderful memories. Not so many huts in those days. We had to bush-whack our way around the west side of Lake Rotoroa. Best wishes for the future.
You're a legend! I started tramping in the 1970s as a teenager, and I love watching these guys too. We used to carry 27kg packs back in the day, with pup tents etc. 😅
Awesome video beautifully put together. I felt like I was right there with you without all the hard work. I look forward to seeing more stunning adventures. Well done.
What an incredible journey through spectacular scenery. I've thoroughly enjoyed watching, so I've subscribed, and am looking forward to watching some of your previous videos.
That was an EPIC trip. I loved the B-Roll snips like heads popping outa tents etc. Anton is good value with Victoria a trooper. We got to Upper Travers on night 2 after visiting Coupla hut first. I had to watch this in 3x 20min slots as life is too busy for an 1hr, so I think you’ve found a way to boost your view rates 😂 Well done to you all 👏👏👏
Trip was pretty full on. Didn’t get to much time to sit back and take it in. The struggle on big days is enjoyable though makes good memories. I going to have to go back and visit some of these huts at some stage. I considered breaking it into a few parts but decided the full feature I liked best. Filming Anton is great he is pretty funny. Victoria did well her leg was getting rather bad on the last day.
new zealand is a blessed with some magnificent landscapes. in my opinion, it's up there with switzerland, which means it's the best in the world. quite an adventure. great effort. thanks for making this video.
You have made my favorite You Tube video. Videography is amazing and all the scenery breathtaking. Beautiful country. You all make these Alpine hikes and elevations look so easy.
Nice vid. Not sure if anyone mentioned but from Morgan Hut to Durville Hut you should cross the river where the ridges come down rather than hiking up each hill. Will save you tons of time and effort. PS My mate Noel shot that deer. It's one of our favourite hunting spots.
Thanks tony it was a great trip. Yeah as we were going up and down along that section of track I was think it seemed pointless especially the last climb up near the Durvil hut. Dear looked very fresh must have just missed your mate.
@@AbelandVictoria there's a little bush bashing to do but compared to going over the ridges it's nothing. from memory you cross 4 times now. used to be 6 but erosion sorted some of it.

You mentioned not being quite match fit for this walk... But the way you both nonchalantly flipped your packs onto your backs at Blue Lake in the morning didn't look too unfit at all! hi guys, i love your videos and would love to attempt what you do as an entry level camper, where is a good place for info, maps of the nelson lakes area and which tracks do you recommend for a few days out as a beginner. i'm fit and i train.
Hey thank you. There is plenty of info on the tracks online personal blogs and the doc website probably the best option to get some specific info. I’d recommend lake Angelus as a good fairly straight forward trip. You can go along Robert ridge and out via spear grass track. Kahurangi has lots of fun tracks also. Have a look at some of our older videos. Feel free to ask any questions 👍
Thanks for your reply. we plan to stay there one day next week. could you please guide me, where we can park the car and how long is the distance to the first camping destination
Wow best trip ive done and with you 😊.. I see you mentioned our dear friends the sandflies once .....how were they for you overall ...they can make or break some trips ..even a swim !! ...didn't see them hogging the camera at all ... beautiful thks so much to u all ...
Your first day was too big for a first day. Your second day was too big for a second day. This trip is better if you leave Angeles to last. Day 1 Rotoiti to Travers Saddle. . . Day 5 D'Urville to Angeles via Cedric Ridge. Day 6 Angeles to Rotoiti by Robert Ridge. If the weather plays up and you cannot do Robert Ridge, you have the less exposed Cascade route and Speargrass route to chose from. If you need to cut the trip short you can go out Rotoroa. A terrible pity about the shot of the moon over Lake Thompson.
Absolutely gorgeous!!!

Should be fine. It would be cold at the high elevation camping spots 0 degrees maybe less
First day was the smallest day. Robert car park to angules is a small distance and easy walk. What about the shot of the moon?
How about your srilankan curry??? Delecious?? Isn’t it
Yeah it’s real good
@@AbelandVictoria loved watching your camping videos

Hi!!
Hey
Thanks for the tramp, guys. The English language does not have enough words to describe the landscape of Aotearoa.
Smaller sections, resting, enjoying the surroundings. Cut down on the big trudges, nothing to enjoy doing all those big days
I enjoyed it even with the long days
Hike your own hike.
They clearly enjoyed this epic adventure. 😁
