Fun fact: Johnny Test was originally for Nickelodeon, since its creator Scott Fellows worked on the network as staff writer for The Fairly OddParents and Danny Phantom and he created some live-action shows like Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide. But Nickelodeon rejected Johnny Test and it became a Kids' WB-Cartoon Network-Teletoon show.
I wonder how Johnny Test would've been like if it was for Nickelodeon. I know y'all would think it would be the same (probably), but I'm still kinda curious
That really confused me. Fairly odd parents was in Jetix, Disney channel, Disney XD and finally nickelodeon. I hated when they air in nickelodeon because they would always air the newest seasons. At least in Disney they will always air the early seasons
Here’s another bizarre one: In Saudi Arabia, Futurama aired on a children’s channel known as SpaceToon. The dub was heavily edited regarding material not appropriate for kids and material that’s illegal in the country (such as women showing exposed skin, meaning they edited a blue long-sleeved shirt underneath Leela’s tank top). They even changed the intro drastically and I found a Saudi Arabian on Reddit saying that Bender drinks robot oil instead of alcohol in said dub. Also according to a Twitter user the channel’s website sold a DVD of the dub at one point.
So it's like the opposite effect of how they had One Piece on 4Kids, and had to censor that one by removing the blood and making the weapons look like toys? Interesting, thank you for sharing. /g
Fun fact: Fairly Oddparents is not just Disney Channel Spain, Disney Channel Latin America airs the show too. CBBC in the UK. Carmen Sandiego, the animated series based on the classic video game series that airs on Netflix airs on Disney Channel in France
That doesn’t even work considering they air Seinfeld on nick and are owned by the same company, id say a better analogy would be the “X-Files” on Nickelodeon
@@MadPaperMario Seinfeld is a TV show owned by Sony Pictures Television, formerly known as Columbia/Tri-Star Television. Nickelodeon is owned by Paramount, formerly known as ViacomCBS...
Here's a fun fact: did you know that My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic was originally canceled in Japan after 2 seasons release in the early 2010s but there was enough fan-outcry that the show later came back YEARS after was canceled in North America and Season 5-6 are currently being dubbed in Japanese today on Disney Channel Japan.
@@ryun.8072With how many times that show changed channels here in Czechia, I am, actually, surprised the dub here stayed pretty consistent with the main characters throughout the changes, with one notable change in season 4, when they changed Spike's female VA (BTW the current VA of Lisa Simpson 😁) to an actual child VA, only to change him again to another child VA in season 5 (though that one, fortunately, stayed until the end). Side characters changed voices quite a lot, but the main cast, with the exception of Spike, fortunately stayed consistent throughout the dub. Or, should I write, dubs, since some seasons even have more than one dub 😅
I don't see anything wrong with Nickelodeon Germany airing Adventure Time, as it was originally what I would call a "Nicktoon prototype," as Adventure Time first aired as shorts on Nickelodeon's Random Cartoons in the United States. Adventure Time was pitched to Nickelodeon U.S., but it was rejected, so they went and pitched it to Cartoon Network U.S., they greenlit it and the rest is history...
Nickelodeon would've absolutely messed up Adventure Time if they greenlit the series in the US, so i get why it got rejected before CN took over, the art style of Adventure Time never feels weird or surreal so it's fine I can see why Adventure Time aired on Nickelodeon Germany
The Phillipines has English as a second official language (it was colonized by America for a few decades in the past), so not only were they able to advertise The Simpsons in English, I wouldn't be surprised if they simply airid it without any subbing or dubbing over the original airing in America.
As for Lego's programming, I remember Ninjago aired on Cartoon Network and later Netflix here in the US, however it aired on Nickelodeon in Denmark, and Disney XD in Latin America. There's also Hero Factory, which aired on both Nickelodeon and Nicktoons here in the US, and Cartoon Network in the UK.
Interestingly, a french series called Eliot Kid was broadcast in Western Europe and Asia on Disney Channel and other Disney networks, while in Eastern Europe, Scandinavia and Latin America the series was broadcast on Cartoon Network and Boomerang, while in other countries such as the United Kingdom or United States the series was broadcast on national networks such as CBBC, Pop, Qubo, ect.
I’ve heard from someone who grew up in the Philippines that confirms that The Simpsons on CN was in fact uncut. Even the Treehouse of Horror episodes, gore intact.
If I recall correctly when i visited Poland as a kid, I remember The Fairly Oddparents airing on both Nickelodeon AND Disney Channel. Although Disney Channel called it, "The Adventures of Timmy" while Nick kept the original name I'm pretty sure.
The reason why other CN shows aired in Disney Channel and Nickelodeon because CN is a paid TV channel in Germany, however both Disney and Nick are free to watch
Disney Channel was also a pay channel in Germany for a long time. I can remember where Super RTL (German children's channel) had all the rights for the Disney series.
@@VINCENTBUTZ6Yeah, as well as some Nickelodeon and Jetix cartoons, like Spongebob, Blues Clues, Jimmy Neutron, Fairy OddParents (Cosmo & Wanda here), Totally Spies, W.I.T.C.H., etc.
As a Finn, it's neat that you talked about Avatar airing on our Fox Kids block but that block also aired Fairly Oodparents too. Yes, Finnish Fox Kids block was a weird hodgepodge with it's programs.
To add to FOP's history with Disney, I did see footage of promo material for it on Toon Disney, Disney XD's predecessor, as well. And while Jetix was usually just a block on Toon Disney in most countries, in some places it was a network all it's own (usually replacing Fox Kids) and had FOP there too. MLP: FIM not only aired on Nick and Disney Channel, but also CN and Boomerang in certain territories too (as well as the last remaining version of Discovery Kids in LA, as channels like The Hub and Discovery Family don't exist over there).
Fun Fact: Here in Ireland, I remember Total Drama Island aired on a channel on Kix and Total Drama Action aired on Disney XD, anything beyond World Tour was on Netflix and Total Dramarama apparently was on POP according to a friend. Pokemon has also aired on many channels here, CITV, Disney XD and RTE 2 to what I remember, but apparently on SKY One, Cartoon Network, CBBC, POP, POP MAX to name just a few. And finally I remember the Annoying Orange TV Show, Shezow and Yu=Gi-Oh Zexal airing on Kix here.
Honestly it's kinda weird to see Johnny Test on Disney Channel but honestly I could see it fitting real well on Disney XD 17:48 South Park did air on some Fox stations through syndication so...
i was gonna say something about the south park syndication too, there's loads of proof online and on TH-cam of a specially made intro of south park made FOR syndication, and there's also a plenty amount of bumpers too.
@@petereugene4985 ...South Park was in syndication, so either Fox, The WB, UPN (later Fox The CW, MyNetworkTV) or an independent station could pick up reruns of South Park for prime time viewing on their local affiliate if they wanted. The majority episodes, mostly from earlier seasons, were edited of vulgar content and vulgar language for broadcast TV while other episodes (many of which were controversial) were skipped entirely...
Simpsons on Cartoon Network isn't too crazy thinking of King of the Hill and stuff on the adult swim block. especially since it's not too adult of a show most of the time.
Anyway I wonder if there’s any Philippine who was watching that as a kid, from what I’ve heard I think it aired from 2006-2008 and from what I’ve seen from the ads I think they aired seasons 8 to 13 or 14 since the animation looks pre digital simpsons but no to fluid and full of expressions like the earlier seasons 1-6 and majority of 7
As someone from Latin America, I always found it weird that Cartoon Network had an adult animation block in the U.S., when I first started surfing the Internet around 2004 or 2005 I became aware of [adult swim] existence, I found it really wierd that shows like Family Guy aired there or that anime like Inuyasha were considered adult, since anime aired on daytime in Latin America Eventually, Cartoon Network Latin America added the block around 2005, but it never caught on. They tried to revive it on different channels across the region, but people always complained that it didn't have any anime shows. But around the end of october of last year the [adult swim] channel was added to different cable providers across Latin America, and now it has anime, though they're the usual series like Dragon Ball, Saint Seiya, Naruto and so on
Nickelodeon in Germany also aired some episodes of Family Guy. No, I’m not joking. If I remember right, one of the episodes was the one where Peter visited the beer factory.
7:30 Back in the day, they got around this by naming the Nicktoons games “SpongeBob & Friends” in the affected regions. Nowadays the legal wording regarding FOP is apparently more complicated than ever (to the point where, not hyperbole, Timmy’s _hat_ is supposedly owned by some random employee) which is probably why they stopped altogether
Up until 2014, the Disney Channel here in Germany was a pay-tv channel, that was part of Sky (or formerly known as Premiere). Then they decided to split off from Toggo (a.k.a Super RTL) and created a new channel block for their stuff. And the rest is history.
Cartoon Network is a pay TV channel in many countries, so Cartoon Network shows often air on other channels too. Sometimes, shows from Nickelodeon or CN even aired on other channels before the original channel existed in that country. Also, in Germany, Disney Channel does have a late night block with adult shows, so it's no surprise that they air Friends.
An example with shows airing on other channels before their true parent channels became available is Ren & Stimpy, In Italy, Nickelodeon only first appeared in 2004 after Sky Released, even though there have been cable services in Italy since 1971 with "Telemontecarlo (TMC)", which actually hosted the first instance of Cartoon Network in Italy dating back to May 1st of 1996 up until the shutdown of TMC as a whole in 2001, so Ren & Stimpy in Italy began in 1995 on "RaiDue", only airing the first season, and the only surviving evidence being a small snippet from the episode "Stimpy's Invention" and Wikipedia, it is highly sought after in the Italian Lost Media Community
@@TuxerTuxar Interesting. In Germany, Nickelodeon first existed from 1995 to 1998. Years after the shutdown, they came back in 2005. Before that, Nick shows mainly aired on Super RTL, KIKA or MTV2 Pop. SpongeBob and The fairly odd Parents first aired on Super RTL.
7:30 the reason why timmy shows up in these games is because nelvana gave them the permission to. international copies of nicktoons unite have a copyright byline crediting nelvana
The Simpsons airing on Cartoon Network is weird, but not too weird since Cartoon Network has aired PG-rated stuff and it's known to be edgier compared to other kids' channel like Nickelodeon and Disney Channel. Same goes to "Arthur" on Nickelodeon in the UK (it also aired on Cartoon Network and Boomerang in LATAM and Disney Channel in Southeast Asia). Also, "FRIENDS" ON DISNEY CHANNEL!?! AN ADULT SITCOM ON A KIDS' CHANNEL!?! Now that is bizarre! Also, another bizarre thing is a kids' anime called "Metal Fight Beyblade" aired on MTV in India!
Now, please note that Friends on Disney Germany isn't the first time something like this has happened. In the past, Nickelodeon UK has aired the Australian soap opera Neighbours.
You forgot one part. FOP Also aired on Jetix *latin america*, Fox Kids Latin America, and Disney XD Sweden. There are some idents, but no footage of it airing, except just intros and stuff.
Here in Canada I remember Fairly Oddparents airing on Teletoon Retro which I think was owned by Cartoon Network. I always forget that it's a Nickelodeon show. I also recall watching shows like Dexter's Laboratory, Looney Tunes, Pink Panther, Inspector Gadget, and Animaniacs on there.
Now it is, Teletoon was rebranded into Cartoon Network last year. It used to be it's own thing until it got shut down in 2015 when Cartoon Network took the CRTC license. I probably should have searched it up beforehand :P @@funnydj1999
How a Mexican child would like to tell you that in fact the Fairly OddParents were broadcast on Disney thanks to the fact that they were previously broadcast on jetix (predecessor of Disney XD) which was previously fox kids However, every Fairly OddParents product that contained Poof and other later things was broadcast by Nickelodeon, in fact here the Nicktoons Unite saga is not as well known but Yes it came under the name of SpongeBob and friends, I would also like to add that there are 2 Mexican open television channels that broadcast The Fairly OddParents despite being competition, one goes from seasons 1-5 and the other goes through the subsequent ones. The crossover with Jimmy Neutron had a different cast in the dubbing thanks to this licensing problem, which made the first special part of the Jimmy Neutron series. In fact, the voices of Jimmy Neutron's characters were also changed for the other 2 crossover specials. Thanks for reading :3
I remember as a kid being so confused why for the crossover they had different voices, it took me a while to discover that Fairly Odd Parents was dubbed in Miami, while Jimmy Neutron was dubbed in Mexico. Nowadays, collaborative dubbing between different countries is much more common, but back then it would've been very difficult
I know you aren't making anymore of these videos and you've probably been told some of this since the original uploads but I'm pretty sure the reason why Nick Germany aired Adventure Time and Gumball and Disney Channel Germany aired We Bare Bears and PPG 2016 is because both channels are regular over-the-air channels over there. Here in Britain, regardless whether a cartoon is a product of Nick, Cartoon Network or Disney, it has varied which free channel it aired/airs on over here, Nick less so since Paramount bought Channel 5 sometime in the 2010s: Children's BBC aired Rugrats, The Wild Thornberries and (although not a cartoon) Lizzie McGuire Citv aired Hey Arnold!, Cow & Chicken, I Am Weasel and Chowder Channel 4 aired Johnny Bravo and CatDog Channel 5 aired the original Powerpuff Girls, Bear in The Big Blue House and The Book of Pooh, but since Paramount bought them, they've been how one can watch Nick Jr shows without a Sky or Virgin TV subscription, including Paw Patrol, Top Wing, Becca's Bunch and the Paddington reboot However, that hasn't stopped Channel 4 from airing Nickelodeon movies, they've re-aired the Rugrats movies many Christmases in the 2010s and aired Paw Patrol The Movie on New Year's Day this year (2024 if you're reading this at a later date) and last year, CBBC started airing Nick's new Transformers cartoon, Transformers Earthspark! From my experience, what channels certain cartoons air on in which countries varies quite a bit, it can either be due to the show's home cable channel not existing in that country or just whoever beats everyone else to the show in question. Untalkative Bunny aired on Disney Channel here in the UK but aired on Cartoon Network in Japan Angela Anaconda aired on Fox Kids in the US but here in the UK, it aired on Cartoon Network and Channel 4 when it was new, and aired on Pop later that decade Ned's Newt aired on Disney Channel over here when it was new, but in the 2000s aired on Cartoon Network Baby Blues aired on Cartoon Network here in the UK, NOT Adult Swim, and words like anus and penis are uncensored! MLP: FiM aired on Boomerang over here when it was new, but sometime after they gave up, it returned to our screens via Tiny Pop! It aired on Nick Jr over in the Netherlands! Because Discovery Kids closed here in the UK in 2007, Kenny The Shark aired on DMAX Despite Nickelodeon launching in France in 2005, in 2007, SpongeBob could be found on another French cartoon channel, Teletoon in 2007! (NOT related to the Canadian channel! Maybe this was due to a contract that hadn't expired yet?) There are more examples I know of, but I gotta go before I get exhausted trying to remember exactly what they are. Have a good one!
citv also used to show cartoon network and disney shows like chowder, generator rex, adventure time, og continuity ben 10 and phineas and ferb never bothered to watch them on citv tho as all of these would show new episodes months after cn and disney channel/xd already did
Another thing about the fairly odd parents, is that not only nelvana distributed the rights to the show, they were also responsible for many DVD international releases. Including ones that were not made in Canada. Which does explain with some dvd releases (Even from the U.S, having the nelvana logo playing in the beginning)
Ben 10 aired on Jetix in French, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, aired on Disney XD in the UK and Sonic X airs on Jetix, and, Gumball Airs on NickToons in Germany, because Cartoon Network is a pay to channel over there.
I remember Peppa Pig on Rando Kiddies, Bacon Shenanigans on Adult Swim, South Park on Rando Four, Strange Hill High on Rando, Smiling Critters on Disney Channel and Disney XD, The Simpsons on Rando Three, American Dad on Cartoon Network and MCCS on Comedy Central
Once I saw the title, I very quickly remembered spending time in Mexico as a kid and seeing some cartoons airing on different networks than I was used to seeing them on.
When I was growing up, if I got sick in the middle of the night and couldn’t fall back asleep for whatever reason, Disney Channel was my go to for cartoons late at night, however I did also turn on Nick Jr. or Nick At Night. I can vividly remember this.
Not only that, for more than 10 years they aired the Fairly OddParents on Fox Kids, then on Jetix, which also aired their movies, and finally on Disney XD, which continued until 2015, where it completely disappeared from Disney programming.
Pony Life is kind of like a spin-off of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, it was the final series to feature the characters from that show, before transitioning into the next generation, that being Gen 5. It had 1 season, airing for a couple of years on Discovery Family before Gen 5, which aired on Netflix a year after. Hope this clarifies things a little.
Here in Latin America, a famous children channel called Discovery Kids aired most of Nick Jr's shows, such as The Backyardigans or Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! if not wrong, they also had to modify the intro of these shows to remove mentions of Nick Jr. Also, in India, Discovery Kids' Indian feed shows Tom & Jerry and The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, which makes sense because of Discovery Kids currently being owned by Warner Bros. Discovery. Other mentions would be that in Japan, Cartoon Network has aired Pingu, Thomas and Friends and Peppa Pig (though the American feed already did air it through Tickle-U)
...Viacom does not exist anymore. They became ViacomCBS after Viacom reunited with CBS. The entire company was then renamed Paramount Global to tie the entire company into their ownership of Paramount Pictures and Paramount+ (formerly CBS All Access)...
For the longest time I believed The Fairly Oddparents was a Disney Channel show. It felt so weird seeing the show advertised as a Nickelodeon show along with other NickToons, like seeing SpongeBob among Cartoon Network characters. I always thought it as the first 5 seasons were made by Disney and the rest by Nickelodeon (which for me, it was Nick who ruined the show). I know it's a NickToon now but I can't fully process it
You forgot to mention that in Latin America, fairly odd parents was in 3 different channels at the same time. Nick, Disney channel and Jetix (then turn into Disney XD and yes they also put Fairly odd parents in there as well) I remember I could even catch fairly odd parents airing at the same time in those 3 channels because it was such a popular show
I remember back in mid 2000’s when I visited Dominican Republic, Fox Kids (currently known As Disney XD) used aired FOP and around late 2000 or early 2010, it was switched to Nick
I know Johnny Test aired on Disney channel instead of cartoonetwork at times. Like i've watched live tv of Johnny test on disney. Come to think of it i've also seen Fairly Odd Parents on disney. What kind of cable network was I using lol.
I am from Latin America and I associate The Fairly OddParents more with Fox Kids, Jetix (which in Latin America was its own channel, replacing Fox Kids in 2004) and Disney Channel than with Nickelodeon itself even though it is the original producer. sorry for my bad english, i used the translator
I remember as a kid growing up in Vietnam, Totally Spies aired on Disney Channel, whereas in the States, it initially aired on ABC Family (owned by Disney, currently known as Freeform), then Cartoon Network, and finally Universal Kids (formerly Sprout). However, this show is making a comeback to CN.
Televisa's "Canal 5" and Azteca's "Azteca 7," two of Mexico's major over-the-air broadcast networks have schedules consisting of a hodgepodge of original Mexican cartoons plus cartoons found on cable networks Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and The Disney Channel, which also aired in Mexico on cable TV. The fact that cartoons found on cable TV in Mexico are also licensed to two Mexican national over-the-air broadcasters is mind-blowing, with SpongeBob SquarePants (Bob Esponja) airing on Televisa's Canal 5 alongside the original Televisa-owned Mexican cartoon El Chavo Animado, while Fairly Odd Parents (Los Padrinos Magicos) and Adventure Time (Hora de Aventura) airing on Azteca 7...those Mexican kids (along with the many American kids living along the U.S.-Mexico Border from Brownsville/McAllen, Texas to El Paso, Texas to Nogales, Arizona to Yuma, Arizona/El Centro, California/Calexico, California to San Diego, California) are so lucky to get those shows through both a cable TV subscription and for free over-the-air via a TV antenna!
I'm honestly glad they still do that, because new generations can watch thise shows too( the only bad thing is that maybe some kids will be confused at seeing Spongebob airing with Adventure Time but heh it happens 😅)
I remember going to watch the tv when I was little and seeing spongebob , other cartoon network and lazy town and the channel I was watching was owned by televisa
On the topic of The Simpsons airing in a kids network, Clone High aired in a network aimed for teens in Portugal, receiving a dub and everything (which is really rare for media aimed at adults in Portugal) and Duckman even aired on a kids block in the morning (once again, receiving a Portuguese dub)
The Simpsons and King of the Hill used to be broadcast in children's blocks in Brazil on TV Globo and SBT. I think Family Guy was broadcast on a children's block on TV Record too, but we don't have much information about that.
In Canada (I'm not Canadian but) there are 3 main kids channels that are equivalent to the Americans YTV has Nickelodeon Teletoon had Cartoon Network (until it became Cartoon Network Canada in 2023 Family Channel had Disney until 2015 TVO (just wanted to mention) has PBS th-cam.com/video/xwkkkDtF_5Q/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared

The show also aired on Razer in Canada. - Pac-Man and The Ghostly Adventures aired on Discovery Kids in Latin America, originally airing on Disney XD in The US. - ITV2 airs Family Guy and American Dad in the UK. - Vrak TV in Canada, aired a French dub of SpongeBob SquarePants. Im live in Mexico, and in the case of Fairy Oddparents the first 5 seasons were aired on Disney Channel too, but originally was aired on the old channel Fox Kids, more later Jetix. So in Latinoamerica we saw the Fairly Oddparents on Fox Kids and Disney Channel! 😁
@Zerex Just want to point out that from 1997-2022, Arthur also aired on CBBC & BBC One in the UK, but they didn't air the second half of the original version of "The Great MacGrady" episode due to Lance Armstrong's doping scandal and they didn't broadcast the Postcards From Buster spinoff or its season 8 backdoor pilot episode either. They also cut the "And Now A Word From Us Kids" segments from the episodes as well. Likely because of them being filmed in America. As of 2024, Amazon currently holds the distribution rights for Arthur in the UK.
I kinda gasped when Philippines aired The Simpsons on Cartoon Network, but then I remembered that The Simpsons airs on Télétoon (Cartoon Network Canada's sister French channel) in Canada, Québec. I say this in present tense because it's still airing at 6 PM EST since decades, it's like a tradition for us there. And they are even uncensored as they are giving a supervision warning every time it airs. Right now it airs 2 episodes every day between both batches of Teen Titans GO! episodes. Edit: The new episodes with their Canadian French dub airs on the night-block Télétoon la nuit (Teletoon at Night) and their dubs for Season 32 and beyond stay exclusive there and not on Disney+, the dub is only present for Season 1 - 31. Télétoon mostly airs the episodes with Flash animations while the hand-drawn animations are airing on the V channel.
@@LeoTheOtt btw did you know "Teletoon Retro was shut down on September 1, 2015, with Cartoon Network inheriting the service's CRTC license and some of its carriage agreements. That channel would later relaunch under Cartoon Network's own classic animation brand Boomerang in 2023."
Here where I live (Romania) The Fairly OddParents has been broadcasted on three networks: first on an obscure British owned kids network called KidsCo, then on Disney Channel, then on actual Nickelodeon with a Romanian dub. I say "with a Romanian dub" because Nickelodeon did show Fairly OddParents in English before KidsCo launched. Also, that KidsCo network used to show Pelswick and goddamn Even Stevens.
Like Spain or Czech Republic, The fairly odd parents airing on Fox KIds Latinamerica (also on Jetix, Disney Channel and XD) was due to Nelvana distribuiting the firsts 6 seasons. The crossovers with Jimmy Neutron only aired on Nick since DIsney would refuse to air characters from other network
In Germany the early fairly oddparents seasons aired both on Disney Channel, Toon Disney and Nickelodeon (and on a few different locals channels). For Rick And Morty it also airs on Adult Swim, but most people in Germany don't have Pay TV so Comedy Central airs a lot of various shows as Free TV premiere just like Nickelodeon and Disney Channel. Old episodes of Spongebob are aired on Comedy Central and MTV as most old Spongebob fans are adults now. For Friends airing on Disney Channel Germany, it's because after 8 pm they often air programming made for adults
I could think of a reason Johnny Test on Nick fits: all of Scott Fellows’s other well-known work was on Nickelodeon. Fairly OddParents, Ned’s Declassified, Big Time Rush and 100 Things to Do Before High School
Oh Disney and DreamWorks relationship is pretty good actually, not just in the people working on both studios getting along but also there's cases of them working together. Like DreamWorks making exclusive shows for Peacock which is owned by Disney and having the imput of both companies
Italy here. We also had Fairly OddParents on Fox Kids (which later became Jetix and then Disney XD; only the episodes up until the Crash Nebula pilot though, everything after that went on Nickelodeon - and for that reason all those episodes had to be redubbed when aired on Paramount+)
Hi there, i remember Arthur airing in nickelodeon from 1998 all the way up to 2000 on the UK. I really liked the show and was sad when it stopped airing. The episodes that aired where typically from seasons 1 - 4 because by the time season 5 premired, Arthur was already off PBS.
If you're wondering, the reason Timmy was in the earlier Nick games was because those games were released in the US only and since FOP airs on Nick in the US Nelvana wouldn't need to be involved, but because NASB and most modern Nick games are released internationally Nelvana would need to be negotiated with to add Timmy to those games.
Not only Backyardigans, but they also aired Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! in there as well, they also had to modify parts of the show to remove all mentions of Nick Jr. (in fact, adding the Discovery Communications logo at the end of the episode)
@@jeanpabloalmeidachaves8061Yeah, tho I guess the Peppa Pig's TV rights vary on countries, while some channels air the show on Nick Jr. the show has also aired in local children television channels in different countries, plus the show has also aired on Disney Junior on different countries.
In Poland, there were also other cartoons aired on other channels, like Simpsons on TV Puls (it had an animated block before launch of Puls 2 in 2012, when this block was expanded and moved there), Scooby-Doo on Polsat (there were few TV series with this HB's detective dog, but the most frequent one was first series, "Scooby-Doo, where are you", from 1969), Dora the Explorer on TVP1 (there was a Nickelodeon block here around the 2012) and Penguins from Madagascar on Puls 2 (it also had this block here).
It even happened in Latin America: - On Discovery Kids many PBS kids shows aired there and even Nick Jr shows like Backyardigans, Peppa Pig, Pinky Dinky Doo, Hi-5 and The Fresh Beat Band too. - On Disney Junior some Nick Jr like Yo Gabba Gabba and Olivia even few PBS kids show which are Daniel Tiger and Zou aired there. Lets not forget a Canadian CBC Kids show called Bo on the Go and other franchises like Care Bears (Adventures at Care A Lot and Welcome To Care a Lot) and Strawberry Shortcake (Later aired on Discovery Kids) - Even Disney Junior shows like Koala Brothers, Gaspar & Lisa, Barbar, BunnyTown and Charlie & Lola aired on Discovery Kids. - The Fairly OddParents which is a Nickelodeon show and many Teletoon canadian shows aired on Disney XD
Charlie and Lola also aired for some time in Playhouse Disney Latin America, but with a completely different dub than the one made for Discovery Kids Latin America
For some context why adult cartoons air on Comedy Central in DE, NL etc., is because Adult Swim isn't really a thing around these parts. CN and Boomerang does exist, but not Adult Swim. Comedy Central is the only adult cartoon channel essentially in some parts of Europe.
in South Africa 🇿🇦 every show mentioned here is on their official network, except for the fairly oddparents it was on both Nick (S5 - S10) & Disney Channel (S1 - S4) , Disney eventually stopped airing it completely & Nickelodeon Africa got the rights back for S1 - S5 it's still airing 10pm - midnight along with Avatar : TLAB
Here in the UK Total Drama Island airs on CBBC, also, if you think Friends airing on Disney Channel is crazy let me tell you that here in the UK it's rated 12+ here in the UK.
The thing with johnny test on nick is that it actually does make alot of sence considering that the creator of johnny test (Scott Fellows) worked on a couple live action shows specifically for nickelodeon in the past. Ned's declassified school survivor guide being the most famous example of that
Animaniacs aired on Nickelodeon, despite the fact that it's known for being on Cartoon Network and Boomerang because CN and Boomerang are Warner Bros channels and Animaniacs is a Warner Bros cartoon.
i think one of the reasons of why was because some channels were merged or (at least in my case) we didnt have "fox" or cartoon network. so a lot of the cartoon network shows aired on very different channels. for a period of time nickelodeon was also banned, so their shows were given to other channels until they were back.
33:05 Arthur on Nickelodeon presumably may have ended around 2002. In the UK, currently Arthur airs on CBBC, the BBC's network for older kids that launched in February 2002, so it's possible that the BBC may have bought the right to air the show on that channel from WGBH, or outbid Nickelodeon if there was some sort of bidding process. As someone who was an older kid around that time I can recollect seeing the show being the first thing that would show upon signing on for the day since around 2002-2003.
As someone who's also from the UK, I remember watching "Arthur" on NickToons (UK) very early in the morning back in 2006. (One of the episodes I watched involved hiccups.)
36:59 I remember watching disney channel germany and they have prime time shows here other than disney owned shows. like friends, gilmore girls etc. they usually air about at 9 or 11 pm
As someone in Germany, i think it’s completely normal and it’s weird to see everyone so shocked. Adventure Time and Gumball aired for 2 - 3 Years and it actually fits very well
In Bulgaria, Spongebob Squarepants aired on a children's channel known as Super 7. And that's not the end of it: Victorious also aired on Super 7 and Big Time Rush. R.I.P Super 7 EKids Bulgaria aired Winx Club and it's still in the schedule.
As someone from Germany - It is weird to see Johnny Test on CN and WB, because I never even knew that this wasn't an original Nick show, up to this moment I thought it was made by them.
Disney Junior aired the Nickelodeon show ‘Peppa Pig’ in numerous areas across the world. Even in the UK, although Nick Jr airs ‘Peppa Pig’, Disney have streaming rights as the show is available to watch on Disney+ UK, as well as Netflix UK.
I’m pretty sure that Netflix labels the OG Johnny test as a Nickelodeon cartoon
(I’m British)
Adventure Time was also supposed to air on Nickelodeon.
I wonder how Johnny Test would've been like if it was for Nickelodeon. I know y'all would think it would be the same (probably), but I'm still kinda curious
it's a alternate universe where johnny test stayed on nickelodeon.
Kids in Spain thinking the fairly odd parents is a Disney show, part of the Disney canon😂
Despite Viacom Producing it and selling throigh Nelvana
Nelvana owned the rights to the first few seasons of the show, before Nick realised how big it was and got the rights to the later seasons
That’s because Disney flagged Nickelodeon

And it actually worked
So it's like the opposite effect of how they had One Piece on 4Kids, and had to censor that one by removing the blood and making the weapons look like toys? Interesting, thank you for sharing. /g

I didn't know that MLP:FIM aired on Disney Channel Japan😮
at the cost, voice casts are completely recast
Nickelodeon would've absolutely messed up Adventure Time if they greenlit the series in the US, so i get why it got rejected before CN took over, the art style of Adventure Time never feels weird or surreal so it's fine

Eventually, Cartoon Network Latin America added the block around 2005, but it never caught on. They tried to revive it on different channels across the region, but people always complained that it didn't have any anime shows. I wanted to mention that Disney Channel in Germany has a night block where they air adult sitcoms.
Up until 2014, the Disney Channel here in Germany was a pay-tv channel, that was part of Sky (or formerly known as Premiere). Then they decided to split off from Toggo (a.k.a Super RTL) and created a new channel block for their stuff. And the rest is history.
In Scotland, Bacon Shenanigans airs on Adult Swim, even though Bacon Shenanigans is Rando property, and its rated X18+
@RTV849 I looked the series up, it seems to be a fanmade series made by you.
Reminds me of The Netherlands (my home country!) where Disney XD has the same thing, but it has action movies for adults too
An example with shows airing on other channels before their true parent channels became available is Ren & Stimpy, In Italy, Nickelodeon only first appeared in 2004 after Sky Released, even though there have been cable services in Italy since 1971 with "Telemontecarlo (TMC)", which actually hosted the first instance of Cartoon Network in Italy dating back to May 1st of 1996 up until the shutdown of TMC as a whole in 2001, so Ren & Stimpy in Italy began in 1995 on "RaiDue", only airing the first season, and the only surviving evidence being a small snippet from the episode "Stimpy's Invention" and Wikipedia, it is highly sought after in the Italian Lost Media Community

Here in Britain, regardless whether a cartoon is a product of Nick, Cartoon Network or Disney, it has varied which free channel it aired/airs on over here, Nick less so since Paramount bought Channel 5 sometime in the 2010s:
Children's BBC aired Rugrats, The Wild Thornberries and (although not a cartoon) Lizzie McGuire
Citv aired Hey Arnold!, Cow & Chicken, I Am Weasel and Chowder
Channel 4 aired Johnny Bravo and CatDog
Channel 5 aired the original Powerpuff Girls, Bear in The Big Blue House and The Book of Pooh, but since Paramount bought them, they've been how one can watch Nick Jr shows without a Sky or Virgin TV subscription, including Paw Patrol, Top Wing, Becca's Bunch and the Paddington reboot
However, that hasn't stopped Channel 4 from airing Nickelodeon movies, they've re-aired the Rugrats movies many Christmases in the 2010s and aired Paw Patrol The Movie on New Year's Day this year (2024 if you're reading this at a later date) and last year, CBBC started airing Nick's new Transformers cartoon, Transformers Earthspark!
From my experience, what channels certain cartoons air on in which countries varies quite a bit, it can either be due to the show's home cable channel not existing in that country or just whoever beats everyone else to the show in question.
Untalkative Bunny aired on Disney Channel here in the UK but aired on Cartoon Network in Japan
Angela Anaconda aired on Fox Kids in the US but here in the UK, it aired on Cartoon Network and Channel 4 when it was new, and aired on Pop later that decade
Ned's Newt aired on Disney Channel over here when it was new, but in the 2000s aired on Cartoon Network
Baby Blues aired on Cartoon Network here in the UK, NOT Adult Swim, and words like anus and penis are uncensored!
MLP: FiM aired on Boomerang over here when it was new, but sometime after they gave up, it returned to our screens via Tiny Pop! It aired on Nick Jr over in the Netherlands!
Because Discovery Kids closed here in the UK in 2007, Kenny The Shark aired on DMAX
Despite Nickelodeon launching in France in 2005, in 2007, SpongeBob could be found on another French cartoon channel, Teletoon in 2007! (NOT related to the Canadian channel! Maybe this was due to a contract that hadn't expired yet?)

The dubbing of Clone High in Panda Biggs channel was so good, couldn’t watch the new season because of how Iconic the dub is
The Simpsons and King of the Hill used to be broadcast in children's blocks in Brazil on TV Globo and SBT.
I think Family Guy was broadcast on a children's block on TV Record too, but we don't have much information about that.
Fun Fact:In Australia the Fairly Oddparents and Rugrats reran on ABC3(2009) Reran them weekdays Rugrats at 6am and even Farily Oddparents
In India, Dragon Tales (ie a PBS cartoon) aired on Cartoon Network.
I can confirm this cuz I’m an Indian.
And cartoon network a channel you have to pay trying to dethrone PBS kids, pretty pathetic
Another thing that’s wired Thomas and friends aired on Cartoon Network in the uk from 1995-2001 playing series 4-5
In Canada (I'm not Canadian but) there are 3 main kids channels that are equivalent to the Americans
YTV has Nickelodeon
Teletoon had Cartoon Network (until it became Cartoon Network Canada in 2023
Family Channel had Disney until 2015
TVO (just wanted to mention) has PBS
th-cam.com/video/xwkkkDtF_5Q/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
theres also the Quebec feed of Teletoon (which is still known as Télétoon)
In the 1990s/early 2000s,the Canadian childrens' cable network YTV felt like a strange hodgepodge of Nickelodeon U.S., Cartoon Network U.S., Fox Kids and Kids' WB programming, since the network aired Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, Rugrats, Dexter's Lab, The Powerpuff Girls, Pokemon and SpongeBob SquarePants...
@@Justin-Hill-1987 yeah nowadays they have Nickelodeon and some DreamWorks programs (others on Family Channel) and only four cartoon network shows were on YTV which those and the kids wb shows should've been on teletoon
Ima list some more
- Before Nickelodeon Canada’s launch in 2009, SpongeBob and other Nicktoons aired on YTV, excluding Nick Jr content, which aired on Sister Channel Treehouse TV, both under output agreements with Viacom. They still air Nick shows to this day.
- The Penguins of Madagascar airs on Disney Channel in Portugal, although it probably also airs on Nick there idk
- Nickelodeon India only airs Domestic Programming, Meaning shows such as SpongeBob, Loud House and iCarly are on Sister network, Nickelodeon HD+.
- Jimmy Two-Shoes aired on Disney XD in the US and Teletoon in Canada, and in Latin America, it was on Nickelodeon.
- Lots of shows from these channels air on a channel called Spacetoon in the Middle East.
- American Dad, Family Guy and lots of other shows air on a Russian channel called 2x2.
- Totally Spies has been on All 3, similar to Johnny Test.
- More Disney Channels aired Total Drama stuff, such as TDI airing on Disney XD UK.
- Family Guy aired on Comedy Central in Poland (I think it was Poland)
- Happy Tree Friends (TV Series) is originally a G4 Series in the US, however, MTV in Latin America and Europe aired the show, with Animax in South Africa airing the series.
French Dubs of Shows like Adventure Time air in Canada on a French-Language channel called Télétoon.
- Zig and Sharko and Masha and the Bear air on Nickelodeon channels in India, Z&S airing on Nickelodeon Sonic, Masha airing on the Indian version of the Nick Jr. Channel.
- Ren and Stimpy: Adult Party Cartoon aired on Spike/Paramount Network in the United States. In Poland However, the show aired on MTV, a sister network to Paramount Network.
At the least for Gumball they leaved the cartoon network logo, they didn't claim like it was theirs from the start
Télétoon rebranded to Cartoon Network almost a year ago
@@funnydj1999 That's only for the English channel, the French channel keeps the Télétoon name.
@@LeoTheOtt btw did you know "Teletoon Retro was shut down on September 1, 2015, with Cartoon Network inheriting the service's CRTC license and some of its carriage agreements. That channel would later relaunch under Cartoon Network's own classic animation brand Boomerang in 2023."
what is the V channel? are you referring to the one that rebranded as Noovo in 2020
The Fairy odd Parents part forgot to mention that was not just Spain and Czech, but in most (if not all) of Latin America as well, including Brazil
And also poland
Yeah!
Israel too
Try watching "A better schedule for Nickelodeon's main block" by Evan Rosman. The creator used the same beggining photo as you.
Kirby right back at ya was on fox kids in Latin America. Should've been on Fox Kids in North America.
Awesome Explanation😍♥️
Cool Kinemaster definitely needs to show some more love
Oh Disney and DreamWorks relationship is pretty good actually, not just in the people working on both studios getting along but also there's cases of them working together. Like DreamWorks making exclusive shows for Peacock which is owned by Disney and having the imput of both companies
I thought Peacock was owned by NBC Universal/Comcast though
@@regis_cit is
Peacock is owned by nbc universal
Total Drama was also aired on Disney XD UK.
In latin amarican Discovery kids airs a LOT of nick Jr. Shows
They aired backyardigans all the time.
@@freakytostadacartoon yeah
Not only Backyardigans, but they also aired Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! in there as well, they also had to modify parts of the show to remove all mentions of Nick Jr. (in fact, adding the Discovery Communications logo at the end of the episode)
@@officialsamumix even they Air peppa pig all the time.
@@jeanpabloalmeidachaves8061Yeah, tho I guess the Peppa Pig's TV rights vary on countries, while some channels air the show on Nick Jr. the show has also aired in local children television channels in different countries, plus the show has also aired on Disney Junior on different countries.
Well this is a great trilogy. Not sarcasm.
And fairly oddparents air on disney channel africa
uhh, no they don't.
nope its a nicktoon
Fun fact the fairly odd parents in greece aired on nickelodeon and Disney channel
It even happened in Latin America:
- On Discovery Kids many PBS kids shows aired there and even Nick Jr shows like Backyardigans, Peppa Pig, Pinky Dinky Doo, Hi-5 and The Fresh Beat Band too.
- On Disney Junior some Nick Jr like Yo Gabba Gabba and Olivia even few PBS kids show which are Daniel Tiger and Zou aired there. Lets not forget a Canadian CBC Kids show called Bo on the Go and other franchises like Care Bears (Adventures at Care A Lot and Welcome To Care a Lot) and Strawberry Shortcake (Later aired on Discovery Kids)
- Even Disney Junior shows like Koala Brothers, Gaspar & Lisa, Barbar, BunnyTown and Charlie & Lola aired on Discovery Kids.
- The Fairly OddParents which is a Nickelodeon show and many Teletoon canadian shows aired on Disney XD
Having Wow Wow Wubbzy, Peep and the Big Wide World, and MLP all on the same network must’ve been wild for y’all
Which Strawberry Shortcake cartoon? The 2D one from 2003 or the 3D one from 2009?
Charlie and Lola also aired for some time in Playhouse Disney Latin America, but with a completely different dub than the one made for Discovery Kids Latin America
@@epicboyo4883 Thanks for reminding me!!!!! I forgot Wubbzy on Discovery Kids.
The Backyardigans aired on Boomerang in Spain!
For some context why adult cartoons air on Comedy Central in DE, NL etc., is because Adult Swim isn't really a thing around these parts. CN and Boomerang does exist, but not Adult Swim. Comedy Central is the only adult cartoon channel essentially in some parts of Europe.
I distinctly remember watching Total Drama on Disney XD here in the UK
in South Africa 🇿🇦 every show mentioned here is on their official network, except for the fairly oddparents it was on both Nick (S5 - S10) & Disney Channel (S1 - S4) , Disney eventually stopped airing it completely & Nickelodeon Africa got the rights back for S1 - S5 it's still airing 10pm - midnight along with Avatar : TLAB
Ned's declassified school survivor guide being the most famous example of that
Animaniacs aired on Nickelodeon, despite the fact that it's known for being on Cartoon Network and Boomerang because CN and Boomerang are Warner Bros channels and Animaniacs is a Warner Bros cartoon.
disney channel germany has a night time block from monday to thursday where they air shows like home improvement, golden girls and according to jim
i think one of the reasons of why was because some channels were merged or (at least in my case) we didnt have "fox" or cartoon network. so a lot of the cartoon network shows aired on very different channels. for a period of time nickelodeon was also banned, so their shows were given to other channels until they were back.
Total drama also aired on Disney XD in the UK
R.I.P Super 7
EKids Bulgaria aired Winx Club and it's still in the schedule.
