I think I’m just realizing that some of the new SpongeBob episodes don’t even revolve around SpongeBob anymore just other characters
Yeah, episodes revolving around other characters has become common in the newer seasons with SpongeBob not even appearing at all in "BassWard."

@@DawDaw24 in previous seasons they were some episodes that revolved around different characters and they were good but not the whole show. We’re getting a lot of those kind of episodes in the new seasons

There’s a Spongebob episode that revolves around the cloud flowers. It’s called flower. And it just shows the flower for 11 straight minutes without any cuts transitions or interruptions. And the end credits feature Spongebobs screaming “BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA” the entire time.
Ever since Steven Hillenburg died, it's all been straight downhill with no sign of recovering this time.

My biggest gripe is the “fluid” animation that sharply contrasts older SpongeBob.
if the SpongeBob movie was made nowadays, with no differences, you’d probably complain about the animation. Plus, the storyboards in old episodes were also full of the wacky expressions that are shown in current episodes
why did you only look at/talk about one episode to determine how modern spongebob is?
The people at Nickelodeon: Wanna see me make a bad episode of spongebob and then make spongebob scream and cry for half an hour?

I have encountered people who aggressively defend Modern SpongeBob, but I just don’t get it, some of the episodes are kinda good, but these people say that they are better than the first 3 seasons because of their wacky animation.
Same, like we couldn't be watching the same show.
Good on them for getting the most outta modern SB (I envy them, if anything), & there are a couple things I like about it like Krabs & Mrs. Puff being in love again, but as a whole, I don't get it.
Some of Season 11’s episodes are the best in the series, and S12 and S13 are fine, but S14 is where I drew the line.

Finally, thanks for sharing. I too feel that season 4 and beyond is good. It ends right around season 9 because that is when the animation gets too wacky and annoying. Some of my most favourite moments/episodes are in the s4-8 range. It is stupid to just say that EVERYTHING AFTER THE 1ST MOVIE SUCKS. It is totally untrue. It only gets annoying to watch around the s9 mark as you said.
Nah SpongeBob started being good from season one to season four then got bad with season six to season eight and then got good again from season nine to season 12
Idk i think it's better then old, not counting season 13.
What the new writers don't understand about the earlier seasons is that . Teens and Adults could watch it as well . Especially with episodes like doing time and can you spare a dime . The new seasons feel like they were written by actual children with all the wackiness and the gross-out , SpongeBob crying, kamp koral etc. The show is obviously geared more towards kids nowadays as opposed to kids AND adults back in the early 2000s . That's my biggest issue with the show nowadays .

@@user-lz9oi7zj4h You’ve summed it up fairly well. The new writers seem to lack to the passion that the original writers had. From what was initially a show filled with passion and originality to a show that’s still running due to its popularity and ability to bring in money. It’s sad, but not uncommon in the television industry.

To be fair, you can’t really say that modern SpongeBob is complete trash by only watching ONE episode, as I personally think modern SpongeBob is more of a mixed bag than being flat out terrible. Maybe if you watched more episodes you could form a bigger opinion overall, who knows.
Every newer episode is similar. Unfunny and brain rot. It’s rare to find a joke that’s actually funny.

I'm surprised you didn't touch on the extreme faces they make in the modern SpongeBobs.
I'm not a big fan of it because it feels like It's more about the animation and less about the plot

"i haven't seen past season 4" good, the modern seasons are more mixed than anything but i still like them, season 11 and the 2nd half of 9 have some of the best episodes in the show and season 10 has some good banger's anything past season 11 is mixed imo, but if you think the modern seasons are bad, you don't know how bad season's 5- the first half of 9 are to get trough, the reason why most of these seasons turned out the way they did, was because of the network demanding more episodes, season 14 also does have tango tangle which i reccomend, i honestly thought this video was gonna be something like awe, who sucks and has nothing aside from insultin anything past season 3, but nice video! i do mostly think this episode is a light good hanging on a meh but good video i do agree that the bluegrass did get on my nerves.

I still like modern spongebob
This is actually a shared problem with Western animation as a whole. Have it run for over 20-30+ years maximum and its bound to get stale, boring, lazy, stupid, and flat out weak as a result. I guess idiotic people who dont care for real plot end up watching garbage like this as a preference.
This is arguably one of the better episodes of Modern SpongeBob, but that isn't saying much (as this episode was pretty mid). Other episodes are way worse, you should check them out.

Judging a whole cartoon ara off 1 episode isn't going to be the most accurate database for an opinion. You should at least watch season 14 before concluding a pretty bold claim for 10 years of content.

I highly recommend that you watch seasons 9-12 because a bunch of episodes in those seasons are really great.
I don't think that new spongebob sucks, sure episodes like "blood is thicker than grease" suck hard and i agree with everything you said fuck this episode, but there are some episodes from the newer seasons that i really liked, they're not seasons 1-4 good, but they're enjoyable, like:
- Swimming fools
- Ma and pa's big hurrah
- Ride, Patrick, ride
- Big top flop
- Single celled defense
- Plane to sea
- Karen for Spot
- Ain't that the tooth (this one's really stupid)
- Yellow pavement
i agree, obviously none of the episodes from modern times won't match the quality with the first 4 seasons. but most episodes still make me laugh at least a little bit.

as a diehard fan of plankton and karen, i'm surprised that you didn't consider them positives. plankton especially was always a positive in every episode involving him (that i've seen) even if i never liked the overall episode. are they really written that poorly in this episode?
