Fabulous vlog sharing you and hubby’s holiday clothes, they were all fab 👌I completely agree with you about supporting people like Adam and your tote bag in that fabric looks amazing- I love ‘cartoon style’ maps like that. Thank you for sharing 😊
Hi Julie. So good to see you back, and looking so well after your holiday. Love every item that you have made here. It’s hard to pick my favourite, but I’d say that the Rowena Jumpsuit is absolutely stunning on you.
Thank you so much Sue. I’m a bit blown away by all the wonderful comments 🥰 I really loved wearing that jumpsuit. I think it’s a front runner for my favourite make of the year so far 😎😍
Thankyou so so much for all the kind things about myself and the pattern, I’m so glad you enjoyed making it, it’s such a stunning bag, I love that liberty print, I’ve picked the bolt up every time I’ve been to Liberty! I must get some the next time I’m there to make a shirt or possibly a bag now I’ve seen yours. Thankyou as always for your support, I got all teary watching your vlog, thankyou x
I am so with you on buying Adam’s pattern, even though he’d gifted it to you. I’m really not into sharing PDFs etc, and I know there are well known sewists who do share between themselves. My husband was a designer, packaging, websites, promotional visuals etc, and there is talent and a lot of work behind it - and it is really not on for others to give that work away. Would they like to work for nothing, because that is basically what is happening when someone gives a pdf away. Enough of the rant 😊 - I always look forward to your vlogs and your handmade holiday wardrobe was a triumph ❤
The only PDF I have ever shared was a free pattern. Pattern designers rely on us to respect their products, I’d recommend their patterns if I love them but wouldn’t share them for free 😎😍
I really enjoyed this video and seeing all of your lovely holiday makes. Thank you for your kind mention - you look amazing in your Saltwaters! Also - such lovely words about supporting fellow people in the sewing community. I totally agree and try to do this whenever I can xxxx
Thank you Tamlyn 😍 I hold you responsible for my saltwater obsession 🤣🤣 and definitely agree, I’m happy to keep nudging viewers to actively support vloggers and small sewing businesses 🥳😎
Hi Julie, thank you for sharing your makes, they all look fantastic, you are a very talented maker. I noticed the Emporia Tony men's shirt on the shelf behind you, which I have just made for my grandson. The fit of this on the body is fantastic, however, the length of the sleeve hits the elbow crease on my grandson so shortened the sleeve by 4.5 cm, other makers have had to make this adjustment too so thought I would mention it. My grandson is 5ft 8in tall, and the body length swamped him so I shortened it by 9cm, looks fab' now. Hope you don't mind my comments, yours have helped me so much. I am just about to make some Lazy Pants for Aedden, having seen Chris's, which are my grandson's (Aedden's) favourite seasonal colour. Thank you for your joyful vlogs, keep making them. We all love them so much.
Ah thank you so much Diana 😍 I did a toile of the Tony shirt and also found the sleeves and body length to be way too long. I do think the style is very good though so I will make it up in a soft viscose cotton. My Chris really doesn’t like full length shirt sleeves so it’s ideal for him. I hope the lazy pants turn out well. They come up short so make sure you check if you need to add length.
Love the bag. Gotta have it!!! Something for me to make at my weekly sewing social. The fabric is beautiful. Will take me 3 weeks not 3 hours😳. ( My social is only 3 hours long and there is lots of chat as you would expect.). Agree with all you say about the small business support and huge congrats on your win!!! LOL re your packing - there is another me in this world🤣🤣🤣. Glad you had a fab holiday and glad to see you back and vlogging. Happy Sewing. 😊 Lynne
Oh I think the tote would be a great sewcial project! The sewalong is really great. I always pack too much! Never know what I’m going to be in the mood for wearing so best take it all 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you so much for stopping by again 👌🥰 I’ve just pulled the bag out of the dryer and I’m pleased to say its washed beautifully and free of the espresso martini stains 🤪😍😎
What lovely clothes! And hubby looks great! SO thankful I have caught your vlog as I have Adam’s pattern and am just about to make his tote and my fabric is a VERY directional Liberty print (due to make 3 as gifts)! Thank heavens for your vlog and pre-sew warning! I will need to put some thought into it - make even ask Adam the best approach. Have you any tips or solution for me perhaps? I thought perhaps cutting and flipping and sewing the fabric before the batting sandwich construction. Having seen your bag I am even more keen to make some.
Before quilting, I would cut the outer fabric in half lengthways and sew them together so they will be the right way up. The seam will be on the base of the bag so it won’t matter. You’ll need to add your seam allowance to your measurements.
I totally agree with you on supporting the small businesses, I’ve actually waited for the sale to end before purchasing bag hardware because the prices are good and I’m so glad we have a good supplier here in Norway 😂 will you do vlogmas this year?
