Your autumn winter wardrobe will be very comfy and cosy. I love your plans. I have never done any colour blocking before, but I have started making my own underwear to use up my jersey scraps and have colour blocked for some of those. I am pleased with how they have turned out
I am loving your hair xx Nooo not back to front. Perfectly left to right babe I do love that top you’re wearing. Milend Sweater … might need to get me that one. Ok your pattern cut out must be with my Tatum pattern So much fabrics. So many ideas. Loving it 🥰 🦩💖🥰🦩🥰💖
Shame my Mile End shrank so much, it’s just too short in the body to wear out. I wish I had the Mile End in PDF as the paper pattern is too thin to trace, I’ll have to improvise as I want to make the next size up and have it looser fitting for view A but keep the size for the hoodie 🤩😍
Hi Julie! Your phone is pretty good because I don't hear the washer in the background or the dryer.❤ I'm having a cup of coffee with you while you have your tea! ☕ 🍵
Great vlog Julie, you’ve got some exciting things coming up, I’m also looking to make lots of snuggly sweaters this autumn. Lovely seeing you yesterday, glad it finally loaded 😂
Ah thanks Angela. I had such a great day yesterday, loved catching up with you all, such a great group of sewists and the cake was delicious! Fuelled me up for a very decent journey home 😁😍 it was a bit of a trial getting this one loaded 🤪🤣
I wish I had your will power to avoid the fabric shops and Vloggers! It might stop me purchasing... I just need to stop going to all these events too! Love the plans! xx
Not sure how long it will last 🤣🤣 I’m enjoying seeing my fabric piles shrink. My little sewing room is my sanctuary so I need to keep it calm and manageable 🙏🤞
Thank you Tanya 😁 The Tyra pattern sat in my stash for a long time as it looked a lot like the seguaro pants. I definitely prefer the fit of the Tyra pants and I fixed the pocket top which is now tucked into the waistband nicely 🤪❤️😍
I haven't done any colour blocking, but mostly because I don't have the scraps and remnants to do it with yet. I think patchworking lots of different ones together is a great idea though. Lovely to see your face. Take care xxx
As always love your vlogs - very informative. Looking forward to seeing your makes. Was great to meet you today at Southern sewing social. See you next time xx
Love the Tyra trousers. When I don’t have enough length I use wide bias tape to make a hem facing. I like the finish and it adds weight. Words are right way around by the way. Mile End is my favourite sweatshirt and I like the gather feature. I have the knots bigger and don’t pull them very tight. Not made the hooded version. Must admit that colour blocking is not for me but yours does sound like fun and great stashbusters. Happy Sewing and enjoy the social😊. Lynne
Thanks Lynne. I did think about a bias tape hem but didn’t have anything to match ☺️😍 maybe I could place the knots closer to the openings… you have given me a new option Thank you 😍🥰
Hi Julie. Brilliant vlog, as ever! Just love your casual style on this vlog, and very much looking forward to seeing your makes from the lovely jersey fabrics. Can’t wait, tbh!
Thank you so much Sue. Jersey is such a great autumn fabric. I’m looking forward to using the lighter weighted jerseys for cosy layering without feeling bulky as well as the heavier sweatshirting to layer over T-shirts. So many options running through my mind 😊😍🥰
I do like a bit of green. Must make some stella bottoms and finish my stella hoodies. I am hankering after cosy lounge wear at the moment. I'm attempting hand stitched buttonholes on my navy blue Marlo today. Burgundy is so on trend this season. The mile end suits you. 😍
Good luck with the hand stitched button holes. For bulky knits, I’ve found placing paper over the feeddogs and putting the fabric on top of it before sewing with auto buttonholes often works really well 💁♀️😍
Enjoy your vlog very much, sew sensible to reuse patterns after all a lot really don't have much difference. I wouldn't give yr top away, do you ever really not have your sleeve pulled up?? Looks nice and wish I could wear short tops, enjoy while you can, looks like a nice set. Looking forward to seeing all your finished garments you have planned, we're going into summer then I see those cosey fabrics 😅 I also love your hair with the fringe really flatters you. November eh we have to wait? Enjoy sewing your new fabric, envious, regards Diana from NZ 🎉❤🎉🐸🐸
Thanks Diana. I cut the fringe myself 😳😜 wasn’t really sure what I thought of it but a lot of people have commented so I’m kinda warming to it. Cosy fabrics is probably the only thing I look forward to in the wintery months. I hope you get a good summer, ours was mainly a damp squid this year 😳♥️
I wouldn't bother with the ties. Shame it shrunk, but it still looks fab on you. Oh no! Hopefully you will find it soon. Those mile ends are going to be stunning colour blocked in those beautiful fabrics. I love my billies from last year, so I have another one planned too. Ooo they will be so snuggly. xxx
Thank you so much Claire. The black & green jersey is buttery soft. I love your recent fabric haul! We are really no good at helping each other to get a grip! 😜🤣🤣🤣
I thoroughly enjoyed your vlog Julie, thank you.The top you have on looks terrific even if it has shrunk, such gorgeous fabric and it suits you so well.I like your plans for cosy comfortable clothes and it is good to be working on things you enjoy making and that you feel comfortable in. I need to stop buying the latest shiny patterns because more often than not they don’t get made. I tend to stick to the tried and tested. I always look forward to your videos and I look forward to seeing your lounge wear .❤
Thank you so much 😊 I also find the shiny new patterns are often very similar to what we already have 🤣 I’m trying hard not to look at them and stick to patterns I love wearing 😍🥰
Had a very successful day at Southern Sewcial making up one of my AGTN ideas. Did I ever mention it’s my favourite challenge in the sewing calendar? 🤣🤣😍🥰
What phone did you get? I have a new phone coming in November. Are you growing your hair? It looks lovely. Love you siny. That colour will look amazing on you. I love my jersey version, I will definitely be making more at some point. 😍🤩
Julie, have you ever sewn with Wool Challis? Want to make a light weight jacket, not sure if I should chance hand washing it, before sewing, or have it dry cleaned.
Shrinkage! 😡 I bought two colours of cotton twill. Washed it and made two pairs of True Bias Lander pants, my best favourite trouser pattern ever! Over the next couple of washes they shrank until they were ridiculous! I was devastated! Luckily, I had a few scraps left, just enough to lengthen them without the slight original hem fade showing. I'll be washing my woven fabrics over and over before I use them from now on.
Your Marlo cardigan will be beautiful ❤ what wonderful fabric.
Thank you so much ❤️😍
Thanks for sharing Julie, can’t wait to see those Pandas again. 🧶🌈🍓💙
Thank you Jenny, I’ve gotten so much wear out of the Panda’s, it would be great to have a second item on rotation 😍♥️

I can hear you just fine, Julie. The new form is quite clear.
That’s a relief! The lawnmower was particularly loud but the camera technology managed to hide it rather well 😍🥰
Those trousers look very comfy! Sometimes it is hard to get in the mood to sew, especially when you are busy or poorly. 🤩
I’ve just unpicked and fixed the top of the pocket 🥰 the little things matter 😜😍
I would like to see the makes on you, its helping to understand the way how the patterns looks on, size etc.
Thank you Monica. I will show the makes in my next video. I usually do but my time was so limited this last few weeks xx
Great vlog looking forward to seeing your new makes ❤
Ah thank you, nothing like feeling a bit chilly to motivate a cosy knit make or two 😍🤩
I love the wide leg trousers, might have to buy that pattern! They look really versatile x

I don’t know how you don’t have remnants, you are a bit of a prolific sewer of both knits and woven! 😁😍🥰
@@Julie_sews_her_own_clothes funnily enough I have just sorted out my scraps. I might have enough to colour block one 🤣

Thanks for sharing I was looking for dress pattern for light weight jersey, special pattern that I didn’t see a lot.
Light weight knits are so underrated. They are so perfect for layering without creating too much bulk. 😍

Great plans. I agree on the waist tie on the Mile End sweater. Just an extra bunch of fabric where I don't need it.😀Thank you for sharing.

Ooohh, wool challis is a new terminology to me, never heard of it but curious enough to give it a google when I finish work ‼️🥰
HI Julie, no need to fiddle with your camera/phone. We are reading everything correctly. Thanks for the vlog. xx

How utterly frustrating! We’ll end up washing the colours away before we get to wear them 😳🤣🤣
