Most interesting to me was the little foam repair stand he’s working in.

Thanks Ron! I put it off for a while. I also was replacing my Digitrax sound decoder’s speaker with a small sugar cube from ESU and it is SO much better. I also replaced both the LEDs with a tiny wired led I was suggested from Amazon. I’m so excited to run it at the next club show!

I found screwing the coupler in with the microtrains screws worked better than the retention clip but none the less, an easy method of replacing the couplers

Exactly what I did with my Kato SD40-2, it worked perfectly!

You've just confirmed why I chose HO scale. The tiny parts on the trains doesn't outweigh the larger layouts in the same space. 😉

OH! So I ended up getting the 2004 and apparently Kato has change the way they do things. Not all models can use this same style. I have two fairly new Gevos from Kato and they are too high and I apparently need 1015 models.

2004's were too high on my Kato 4400's too. I need a few of 1015 and 2004

Hi Ron - I did this on my Kato Diesel and the 2004-1 couplers are sitting too high. Any suggestions?

Yes, because they are under slung. You need to either use the internal parts from a 2001 in the box of the 2004 or file the 2001 on the outside to fit.

Can you please make it to a normal video so I can save the video in my playlist? Still will be some years until I will be able to build my layout :)

It is indeed Kah-toe, not Kay-toe.
