I can't guarantee it's the same but I'll say this we just did one on my buddy's Q5 and the process was nearly identical despite being a different engine and longitudinal
If your secondary air injection is clogged up and you clean it with something like oven cleaner, your check engine light should clear once you reinstall everything

Hello, why happen if you leave it in place, but unplug the connector to the pump. I want to reduce start up noise
If you scan the car you'll see a Readiness error for secondary air injection, so really nothing will happen
That said if you do have an area where it's super cold the secondary air injection does seem to warm the car up a little quicker
did you try this? I'm planning to unplug connector but leaving everything in place. what was your results?

Does take a few more seconds in the winter to warm up
