My commute to work just got more bearable
This is good , I mean really good, but is too fast at times, it loses its feeling when it’s too quick. A small measure of piece or a way of life tell much more of the story too. IMO. Massive fan of your work.

Of all the Tom cruise movies I’ve seen, Last Samurai was my favourite, followed closely by Live Die Repeat in second place
Commander Critic yeah, edge of tomorrow was very good as well. But Top Gun is still the best in my opinion.

I lived in Japan from 1967 thru 70. I loved this movie and could understand a lot of what they were saying even without subtitles. This piano rendition is even more beautiful than the music played on the movie.

It was one of his last truly original works. It seems since Batman and Inception, so many of his soundtracks sound like a mish mosh of the same material.

This made me cry... it’s entirely beautiful and encapsulated the sadness and pain in the final scenes in the movie yet also brings a sense of peace and calm that come in the final moments of Katsumoto’s life.
This whole soundtrack is amazing. This sounds absolutely mesmerizing on the piano. Goosebumps every time.

1:34 The beginning of the "Arpeggio'esque" notes here is just amazing, though pay attention to the warmth that comes from that 2nd C note at 1:48 in the sequence, it's pure euphoria.
I don't know what it is about the music in this movie. Hans Zimmer makes great music in many, many movies. But this movie in particular, the music is just perfect. Every note. They... are all.... perfect. *sniff sniff* RIP Katsumoto

I could watch this movie any day. I have seen it so many times it's impossible to count. Playing the theme on the piano certainly brings new life into an already beautiful theme. Then again, Hans Zimmer.... can't go wrong with anything written by him. arrangements are going to be amazing. Love the interactions between Ogren and the Japanese family he ended up with; how he grew to care about those kids...

The opening you captured the song where they into the village and incorporated that into the entire song it was such a small part of the movie, it was absolutely beautiful and your version is incredible

There is a moment you have sometimes. And in that moment you hear something so incredible that your brain just stops working. These moments are very rare and you only have like 20 of them in your entire life. I just had one of them. Patrik i swear man, don't ever stop. I will learn this piece with everything i got. Hi Patrik, I don't know if you're reading this but I've been listening to this piano version every other day since you first posted it. It is genuinely so beautiful. In fact, it inspired me so much that I bought my first piano recently and have started to learn how to play properly for the first time. So, thank you for this.
Me too. I 'nailed' the first 20 sec of this. I suppose it's best to start with something else to develop the necessary technical skills. These constant arpeggios across the whole keyboard are really hard, so it may take a long time.
I decided to learn some beginner classics like Bach's prelude I in C major (do give it try), fur Elise etc so I'll be slowly building up towards this performance.

If you play the first 20 seconds exactly as it is here then you must be using a recorder to overlay a loop because that's what is happening here.
