Dude this video is so helpful, The XT5 Menu is pretty confusing at times ahahaha, I want to be able to set up folders for different dates like Sony does, rather than making a new folder each day! I also found a way to turn off the JPEGS in the live View, so you can just see the RAW file in the live view and not the Creative JPEG film simulations.
Hey, I have bought your lightroom Preset packs but can't find the tutorial for them anywhere. Is the tutorial for the presets not included anymore? Much Love
Hey mate! There should be a folder inside the preset zip file that links you to a youtube video. If you still can’t find it just flick me a quick email and I’ll send it to you! mitch@mitchlally.com
I almost went Sony but decided to pick up my first Fuji. I’ve only had my XT-5 with 18mm f1.4 for about a week now but I am in love and look forward to learning how to be a better photographer with this lovely amazing camera.
I'm torn between the 18, 23, and 33mm 1.4's. I have the 16-55mm 2.8 "bag of primes", but I would like one that is much faster for indoor photos. Throw the 27mm pancake in the mix for a tiny and lightweight option for fun.
@@dooginator2008tx I plan to get the 16-55mm to pair with my 18mm. I think it just depends on how wide you like to shoot with fixed f1.4s I might just go with the 50mm f1.0 and call it a day too. I think limitations drive more creativity but the zoom is convenient.
Not that you care BUT the 33f1.4 is my faaaave for portraits and the 23mmf2 or one of the pancake lenses for travel. I do use the Glimmerglass 1 most of the time with Fuji.
Great tips for new fuji X-T5 user! Can you assign more than one function to the front and real dials, and how do you do that? I assume you'd just press the dial in to get to the 2nd function?
I do understand the desire to edit the RAWS but the option for recipes gives you a closer end look. I have 6 recipes for various looks base, A cooler, warm, different vibrant and a B&W. Vericolor Warm is amazing recipe. I have a Leica and Pro400H are my vibrant ones.
You can realistically use either or any other camera for portraits. At this stage it doesn’t really matter. I would say if you want the absolute BEST hit rate for autofocus go with a current gen Canon mirrorless - also consider the lens that you might want to use for portraits with each system. A lot of this stuff comes down to personal preference too. In my honest opinion I would just make a decision and commit to that one system and then try to move past the whole ‘which gear is better’ conundrum and focus on the photography itself and how you can improve your lighting, compositions and editing.
Love the video! That 4:5 tip is really useful for instagram. I noticed you had the 35mm f2 but also another smaller lens with a nice hood on it. What lens was that?
Can we shoot 4x5 images ? To compose it's better to make it directly on the camera. That is a must need for me. Can we shoot raw files at less than 40k ?
I like your video. It’s very informative. Great job. I can also tell that you’re really not a Fuji fanboy. How much of a difference do you see shooting raw with Fuji camera versus a Sony or a canon? It seems like a lot of your use case for this camera make it seem a little silly that you went with the XT5 or Fuji camera altogether.
Helpful video, thanks. If i could make one suggestion, please slow down when you're showing the menus as i had to pause and rewind multiple times as a new X-T5 user that isn't familiar with the menus yet. In other words, perhaps a little more time showing the camera, and a little less of your face. No offense, most TH-camrs are guilty of that. :)
I want to switch completely to the Fujifilm system soon, until I've decided on which model. Tell me, please, how do you like the X-T5 compared to your Sony A7III? I'm afraid to lose that "full-frame image" and be disappointed in switching to a crop sensor. But looking at the Fujifilm cameras, I want to take them and shoot them, Sony doesn't even feel that close. I really like the color in the Fujifilm X-T5, it's great. I'm tired with my Sony camera every time in Lightroom to sit and "look for" a good color
Love how you are still using fuji throughout the years. Its refreshing not seeing someone that only shoots Sony etc.
He shoots video on a Sony
He said only @@felixarm
@@felixarm I think you missed what I wrote.
Some very fine shots of Morro Bay! Well done, Mitch.
Love to see this as a Fuji user myself!
Great tips! Appreciate your video's as I navigate learning all the settings on my X-T5

@@MitchLally Hey I've sent you an e-mail, the link to the tutorial seems to be corruptet on my end.
Thanks a lot for the fast reply 😁
很深刻,感谢你的分享,我拿到相机几个月了,刚在视频中搞明白如何使用一些设置。
Thank you for this vide. I'm going to try out wide tracking after 4 years on my XT-5.
Just got my XT5 so this was super helpful! 🖤
This was so helpful!
Love my XT5! Been using Fuji XT bodies for my work for years. Great vid. 💪🏼
I’ve had my XT5 for months and never knew it had that autofocus tracking mode. Good tips!
Spot on! Great settings Mitch!
Damn, your photos are so good
I have had my X-T5 since launch. Great tips! Do you use BBF on your X-T5? Perhaps you can share how you set it up and your use case. Cheer!
What a great video. Super helpful
I use ratio 4:3 on my XT5 because I use also a GFX and thats the standard ratio on the GFX
Have you tried back button focus or touch screen options with the XT5?

@@dooginator2008tx You have to try Viltrox 27 1.2 , It is is an amazing lens and pretty cheap.

Hey Mitch. Will you be using the XT5 as your main professional photo camera?
What the use of front dial when pressing down? Don’t seem anywhere to customize it.
Hey Mitch, big fan of your work. I was hoping to get your opinion as to whether an XT5 or A7iv would be better for portrait work?

I'm confused. If only shooting RAW files why do I need to choose a film simulation? Sony user thinking about switching to this camera.
You don’t have to choose film simulations, they are optional but a lot of fun

Color chrome effect and xf blue effect stay off both on your settings ?
Yep dr 200, 400 and DRP is underused by users and youtubers. DRP is super underrated especially in tough high contrast situations.
I thought my Fujifilm XT5 was a dud.. turns out I just had bad settings. LOL you saved me, thanks dude!
Great tips i'll try the white balance shift to see how it is
Miss the Fuji experience for for photos as a Sony user now! But I mainly do videography.
Still think people should jump into FF cameras?
I want to be Mitch Lally
I kick myself daily that i got rid of my Fuji

Switched from R6, to X-T5, to a 5D Mark IV. I'll definitely miss the Fuji Colors though, just didn't seem professional enough.
😂😂
Yes you have to have a big DSLR or you won't get any jobs 😂
Is it just me who thinks this camera looks ugly with these thin and small lenses ?
Yep just you

No idea what you shoot, what your preferences are or what your goals are. It’s hard for me to cosign your gear choices.
Very useful. Thanks.
