I feel like that moment with Kash, Vax and the Raven Queen may play into the Percy thing - he might well commune with her and ask about Percy, only to find out that Orthax has him, and being the goddess of fate/death she gives him a way to rescue Percy's soul.
This. There's a reason we saw that with Kash. A) it's an important deviation to the source material but B) He's not *that* much of an important character in the show yet to have warranted such a send off.
I think Anna has the gun with his soul. And they will hunt her down and destroy both her and othax. And in the process realize they can release Percy's soul for resurrection.
Orthax taking souls meant to go beyond the Lattice in the Sky certainly qualifies as something RQ would find abhorrent. I can absolutely see Vax going, "please, we need help" and her coming in with the assist. I also hope Kiki gets the Wildmother's Staff prior to the fight with Raishan, because I want to see her go HAM on her.
A mortal and a demon working together to mass produce hundreds of soul-stealing weapons is the sort of thing that would warrant the Raven Queen sending her champion to go deal with it. I agree that Kash may end up being the messenger who lets Vax know what he needs to do, and that there’s incidentally still a chance to save Percy.

@@ArcherWillows A fair concern, but at least in my opinion, it hasn’t hurt VM yet. I think the changes with MN come down to it taking place (at least in part) before the campaign begins. The animatic clip they released showed Jester meeting Fjord for the first time

@@ArcherWillows*SPOILERS FOR CAMPAIGN 2 IF YOU ARE NOT AWARE* As with all things, it depends. I'm interested in seeing how they handle Ashley's character Yasha. Because they've also made Pike present in TLoVM where she wasn't present in the stream. They've integrated her into the story incredibly well. Similarly, Yasha wasn't present for like 1/3 of the Mighty Nein campaign because Ashley (like in VM) couldn't be there all the time. Also, Travis and Laura had their son very early on in the MN campaign and their characters had to be written off for a time as well. Which left the squad shorthanded in a BIG fight. I'll be interested in seeing the liberties they take with their inclusions/exclusions in the story. Which resulted in the appearance of a beloved character, and down the line resulted in the appearance of an ICONIC villain. So there could be a lot of ripple effects in how they handle some of that. But I think the liberties they've taken in VM so far have been amazing and haven't affected the overarching story much (if at all) yet. So I'm on board. Percy’s soul was taken by the gun, he didn’t go with the Matron of Ravens. Remember, those killed by Ripley’s guns have their souls devoured by Orthax, and when Ripley dropped the gun after shooting Percy the gun glowed a moment.
IMO Pike throwing away her holy symbol is _not_ a good thing. Bear in mind the person who's influenced her to do this... a _Devil_ and one that is serving the Whispered One. And what did he give her when they were leaving Dis? A symbol... suspiciously looking like a holy symbol... and one that is suspiciously similar to the symbol that Delilah carved into her arms when she was calling the Whispered One. And who has Pike, and _only_ Pike met in person, albeit briefly? The Whispered One. My theory is that The Whispered One has been trapped in the plane that Pike occasionally spiritually goes to when she's communing with the Everlight... and it has been trying to shake her faith... maybe subtly disrupting her magic, making Pike slightly doubt... then she meets with Xerxes who was _very_ intent on specifically targeting Pike and driving that last wedge between Pike and her faith in the Everlight, and now we have Pike actively throwing her Everlight symbol away... but far as I know, she never got rid of the other symbol, it's still on her. And the Whispered One is likely all too willing to let Pike think she's somehow doing divine magic on her own, but in truth is now acting as the deity giving her power, and he's more than happy to keep her in the dark. After all... he _IS_ the god of Secrets and Deception. Just a thought, and I could be totally wrong about this... but does make you wonder
I do think it's good she's finding faith in herself, it DID get the armor to work, but she'll have to find a balance between faith in herself and in her god/friends in the future. The Everlight herself has encouraged Pike to accept herself, to walk her own path, confidently. But I do agree that something is interrupting Pike's connection on purpose, and this could lead to some dangerous self-reliance if left unchecked.
So I was ready for Percy, I was...NOT AT ALL ready for Kash. But that scene with Vax and Thordak, considering Liam's emotional state during the original show? Epic.
That shot of pikes face when she yells "its me!" and of Vax as he screams out "THORDAK" were the most anime ass shots of the show so far. Like you can clearly see the inspo from some of those japanese shows in those shots.
I loved grogs moment of tactical planning. Im guessing its a reference to how late in the campaign he took some fighter levels and the battle master subclass
My take with Pike removing her symbol of the Everlight and listening to Zerxus' "Believe on yourself" mantra is that it's not that she is 'removing' her faith with the Everlight, but rather her reliance to it.
So many incredible moments that is just peak art. Those frames with Pike and Thordak, and the ones with Vax in the clouds with Thordak - actual masterpiece.
The only way they are going to work in resurrections is growth for Pike. So the loss of faith and regaining it would make sense. Scanlan's big group moment will happen when he "wakes up". I'm wondering when the new member will show up. Maybe he will be a next season addition.
So thought, the Dawnmartyr armor is an armor for worshippers of the Dawnfather right? so is it possible her being a priest/cleric of the Everlight could have been the hold up?
We don’t have Hotis in the show, but I’ve just realized how well the stage is currently set for Raishan to take on that role and for us to still get *that* epic Vax/Gilmore scene! It just becomes more about hurting Keyleth than hurting Vax.
I was going to repeat your joke about "You talked me into watching Bonus Action and I hated it so no thanks" but that would be a lie. I've really been enjoying it so far. No joke.
Between the incredible and deeply meaningful shot at 9:08 and "It's not the armor. It's ME!" at 9:19, I gets chills throughout every time. Ashley is such an incredible voice actress and that badass Pike moment stands as my favourite of the series!
Nah, it's Travis possessing Grog. Happened a few times in the campaign, and became a running joke everytime Travis took charge when the party suffers decision paralysis.
@@bandi138138 Yep. It's hard to play a character that dumb ALL the time, especially someone as smart as Travis. When your fellow players are acting dumber than your character is supposed to be, sometimes you just have to step up and point out to them what they're missing. (And yes, I do play a barbarian in one of my games... :-) )
Nah, all good theories but it is actually Kord, the Stormlord, using one of his likely champions to give them the nudge they need to get back into the battle
I have a theory. I think that scanlan is not waking up because he is trying to negotiate with the Matron for Percy's return due to feeling guilty about not being there to help.
I think a big thing to remember is that in the live show SHe did not escape with Thordaks body and Matt said it stopped some of his plans for Riashan. Maybe now he gets to do his original plan.
As a show-watcher only (who knows a few spoilers from the campaign), Pike throwing away her goddess doesn’t sit well with me. Given it was Xerxes (who appears to be a follower of the Whispered One, who’s last servants didn’t do so well against Pike’s divine abilities), I’m worried it’s a trap of some kind to weaken her and the group.
Yeah. It’s hard to predict where they are going with that. Maybe she’ll just lean in to hemocraft? Heh. FCG and Xerxes both had divine power without a god. Maybe this is how they lead up to her having resurrection powers since the show is keeping that rare for value’s sake.
"Fire at will." "Which one is Will?" So, my brain instantly went to that exact line from B'Etor in Star Trek: Generations. They were firing at Will (Riker), and yes the Enterprise-D, but still.
I love the paralell between Grog's and Pike's developpement. Grog, the barbarian who fights because he loves it, found his strength in his friends. Pike, the cleric devoted to help others, found her strength in herself. Both Nat 20 scenes
Eh I don't think so. We don't have confirmation of a season 4 yet and I personally think think introducing a new character that soon would cut the shock of the Lament
This episode must have been such confusion for those that didn't see Campaign 1. Us watchers knew that Raishan (and one other important moment) had to be the end goal for the season. It'd be weird to leave that hanging if TLOVM didn't get picked up for a S4 (still not confirmed, though Amazon would a be fool not to).
I'm calling that the next 3 are going to be trying to revive Percy, Scanlan, and Kash. For Percy that will mean going after Orthax who has Percy's soul (since he was shot).
It's too late for Kash. His body was mangled and he willingly let the Matron take his soul. If it had happened any other way he'd have a shot of at least a Revivify -- but Kash was also the only Cleric on the show shown to know resurrection magic. Pike doesn't even know it ... yet, at least.
Kash is probably dead for good, just from a story standpoint. they already bring back a lot of people, they know people will lose interest if consequences are always reversible. they changed it so scanlan's just in a coma, not dead, and percy will definitely be resurrected near the end of the season.
Spoilers guesses ahead . . . . They'll show us percy's soul still locked in hell in a similar prison situation like we've seen in flashback and this scene will be the grand opening arc of the last 3 ep of the season
I’m gonna be completely honest…I’m struggling to have fun with this show at this point. Like, Because of shows like The Boys, GOT, and Invincible my personal threshold for over the top and unneeded gore/death is just gone. So seeing Cash get crawnched (when he isnt supposed to die at all) the very episode after Percy was left dead & entombed just really sucked the air out of the room. I know this has to be leading to something…But there is a very delicate balance in shocking your audience and making them go through that journey with the characters, and just going hard for the sake of the drama. I also just really don’t like how easy it was to both get pike to forsake her faith & get her god to stop talking to her (when in the og story, The Everlight was always in communion with pike). I definitely wanna see where this goes, and it’s incredibly well made…But man, I didnt expect this show to start making me depressed lol.
These 3 episodes were so intense and gutwrenching! I absolutely love it. The pace is probably gonna slow down for a bit, but I'm hyped for the season finale. Is it thursday yet?
"They call me the Diseased Deceiver, they do not call me Truthful Timmy the Blowjob Queen of Saskatoon" Poor Kash, his and Zahra's twins just got Marty McFly'd. Pike's scene was awesome, I am a bit iffy with her fully discarding the Everlight but maybe it comes back around, she does need to believe in herself as much if not more than her god, but it's possible like in S1 that the lack of healing isn't even her fault - Critical Role and their PCs healthily communicating though I guess... Scanlan in a coma makes me wonder if Bard's Lament will be changed to him awakening from it rather than how it went on the table. The only sad thing about Thordak's death though is no more Lance Reddick. Will doesn't die here guys he's still got a few decades and a marriage to get through.
They need to include Pike's alignment shift; this allows for that. The also need to include Percy negotiating with a fiend so he can have that option when the Raven Queen comes to collect after the battle at Thar Amphala.
I really trust them to tell their story, but ive always found expectation subversion to be a pretty weak plot device. That said, the show is still amazing.
With the way Anna was blinking around during the roof chase, I think they might just combine Whisper's thematic elements in with Cabal's Ruin to make Cabal's Ruin feel on the same power level as everyone else's vestige and to avoid the whole "Why does Vax get *two* vestiges?" thing. And I dunno, I feel like they'll tie the Spire of Conflux in with Keyleth's aramente somehow.
@@Onwlsi I like that, but it is kind of funny if it goes to Percy, then. Whisper's big feature was that it got you close to the enemy, but Percy's thing is shooting from a distance.
Kashs death shook me. RIP to my favorite guest character 😔 Also, I can’t help but wonder if Scanlan is comatose because the recordings were happening while Sam was going through his cancer treatments.
2:54 I appreciate the Will to joke! 4:28 Well! I did not see that coming! I don't know what is happening with Pike, and I vehemently do not like her tossing her godesses symbol aside!
I'll be real, I DO NOT like that Kash dies in this. It honestly doesn't really add anything vs keeping him around and idk... it just feels redundant? Game of Thrones-y and I don't like that for what this has been and also the fact that it breaks SO HARD from the story that actually happened. I'm down with them making changes that make all the sense in the world like Percy needing to stay dead until they retrieve his soul or whatever but this one... nope. Super don't like it. Even if he was the only guy they knew who could resurrect people it wasn't relevant because Percy's soul is literally not available and nobody else of key importance was dead so????? yeah dumb change but whatever.
I’m sad for the change, but I also get it as a choice. Death needs to feel final in this show, or everything afterword is just going to be “well why don’t they just resurrect them?” Also I think they needed to do it to stop us campaign-viewers from loudly declaring, “Don’t worry guys; Percy is definitely coming back.” Because this sows the seed of doubt: “Oh yeah? Percy’s coming back? Just like Kash is alive and well?” Kash only made one or two brief appearances after this, and has not appeared at all in either of the other two campaigns, so I wouldn’t call this a particularly hard break from the campaign. Also I’m certain that Will Friedle was fully on board with the deviation.
So no spoilers for those that don't know, but in the last 3, will we get to see Grog find a certain something? Personally I think they should end on it as a cliffhanger for those that don't know hehe Like why the hell is it so climatic finding that basic thing... if you know you know hehe
Spoilers for future stuff in the show Taking a stab at how the next episodes will likely go. My best guess is that tracking down and locating Raishan as well as the beginning of the fight will likely be episode 10, episode 11 will be finishing off the fight, Scanlan departure, and then finding a way to bring Percy back. Then my hope is that episode 12 will be longer starting with a Beach Episode, the gang gets some time to relax, they meet Taryon, and then some serious shit goes down revolving around the Whispered One for the last 5 minutes of the episode to get audiences hooked. That's my guess at least!
My guess is that the hunt for Raishan is going to get waylaid by them discovering (care of a pissed off Raven Queen calling on her champion) that Ripley has been making soul vacuums and Percy is incidentally in Orthax-hell. Then I predict that when that’s all dealt with and everyone’s relaxing for a moment, Raishan will find them, and we’ll get that Hotis/Gilmore moment with Raishan replacing Hotis.
Is Thordak really a good daddy though? He had way more kids than he could possibly care for, and basically forced them to act as child soldiers. Or were you saying it ironically like when Made in Abyss fans refer to Bondrewd as “Best Dad”?
Potential spoilers. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I reckon they'll grab Shawn and go on the hunt in the hells for Percy's Soul being tormented by Orthax. Zerxes will advance his plan to separate Pike from the Everlight by teaching her True Resurrection. And that is when Shawn will stab Vax in the guts and be revealed to be the Rakshasha Hotis in disguise.
I feel Pikes background is she is a decendant of one the children the dawnfather left behind during downfall. I think Zerxis is trying to get revenge by hurting the dawnfathers family like his was hurt.

I have no idea how they're going to top this with 3 episodes left. That felt like a full-on movie. Get a belly button crystal and you can be like Steven Univers.
My theory with Pike has always been that she's related to the bloodline of the Everlight, who canonically had children who survived Calamity and Downfall. There's so much emphasis on blood and HER blood specifically, plus... it would be dope as hell. As for Percy, the cast has said that they needed Percy's death to feel more consequential. Vex was revived within one episode of dying, and as per a game of d&d, if a character can repeatedly be brought back, then the stakes don't matter anymore, because why fear death? They'll bring Percy back eventually (and at this point, I don't even know if it'll be this season or not), but I think it'll be very different than it was in the campaign.

So happy Thordak died before the last episode, was surprised Kash died though, Jay’s reaction to that was great
The only way they are going to work in resurrections is growth for Pike.
This show continues to be one of the best things on TV right now.
We don’t have Hotis in the show, but I’ve just realized how well the stage is currently set for Raishan to take on that role and for us to still get *that* epic Vax/Gilmore scene! It just becomes more about hurting Keyleth than hurting Vax.
BEEN WAITING ALL DAY FOR THIS ONE LADS!!! I hope you enjoy, ive been waiting for your reaction all week!!
I always look forward to your reactions. Being a Critter so many changes were surprising. I love all of it though. ❤
"Get Jamba Juiced asshole" 🤣🤣🤣
Well, we saw Cashal's thread taken up by the Matron of Ravens; however, we did not see that with Percy, which makes me wonder.
I was going to repeat your joke about "You talked me into watching Bonus Action and I hated it so no thanks" but that would be a lie. I've really been enjoying it so far. No joke.
Thanks. We appreciate you checking it out 😊
Between the incredible and deeply meaningful shot at 9:08 and "It's not the armor. It's ME!" at 9:19, I gets chills throughout every time. Ashley is such an incredible voice actress and that badass Pike moment stands as my favourite of the series!
I think Grog's moment of clarity and plan followed by a blackout was somehow Percy's spirit taking over. Even sounded like Percy ...
Wait til the shopping episode :D
Nah, all good theories but it is actually Kord, the Stormlord, using one of his likely champions to give them the nudge they need to get back into the battle
@@bandi138138 This is my headcanon for that. "I blacked out for a moment" makes too much sense, even as a joke.
I think she will use Thordak's body and try to become a Dracolich. This way they can tie the story back to the Whispered One.
Putting the Bonus Action ad with the Death song right after the Kash scene was a choice
I'm guessing they are setting it up for her to hit a low point before being redeemed by the Everlight.
@@viktorstagnetti7491 Oh, that would be interesting!
Yeah. It’s hard to predict where they are going with that. Maybe she’ll just lean in to hemocraft? Heh. FCG and Xerxes both had divine power without a god.
Maybe this is how they lead up to her having resurrection powers since the show is keeping that rare for value’s sake.
"Fire at will."
"Which one is Will?"
So, my brain instantly went to that exact line from B'Etor in Star Trek: Generations. They were firing at Will (Riker), and yes the Enterprise-D, but still.
A phenomenal reaction to an incredible episode. This season has been so amazing to watch... 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I love the paralell between Grog's and Pike's developpement.
Grog, the barbarian who fights because he loves it, found his strength in his friends.
Pike, the cleric devoted to help others, found her strength in herself.
Both Nat 20 scenes
I think you’d come off more Carebear than Troll, but then we rarely see the hat off
I definitely think that we’re getting Tary at the end of this season FOR SURE
Eh I don't think so. We don't have confirmation of a season 4 yet and I personally think think introducing a new character that soon would cut the shock of the Lament
nah, the season will end with Bard's lament. Tary will come in season 4
Raishan Fight is gonna be a real tear jerker. 😢
I so desperately want to see Raishan take on the part of Hotis as our resident shapeshifter with a grudge, so we can still get that Vax/Gilmore scene!
Ye I was always expecting Thordak to be 9 and then the last 3 Raishan and B***'s L*m*nt
Same thing happened in season one when the Briarwoods were defeated in episode 11.
3:22 Wow, that's an obscure reference. 😂
Grog's speech was so cool,Pike was epic, this episode was perfect :)
Theres still 3 more episodes…
Although it would take a lot to top this.
In case you’re wondering if the “in case you’re wondering if shit rocks” bit will ever get old, it won’t. Love it every time
Spoilers guesses ahead

"It's not the armor- it's ME!"
She is a monstah, after all.
Yeah... I think we all were shocked when Kash died.
These 3 episodes were so intense and gutwrenching! I absolutely love it. The pace is probably gonna slow down for a bit, but I'm hyped for the season finale. Is it thursday yet?
"They call me the Diseased Deceiver, they do not call me Truthful Timmy the Blowjob Queen of Saskatoon"
Poor Kash, his and Zahra's twins just got Marty McFly'd.
The twins might be in Zahra right now...
Imo Kash is 1000% dead. He's not needed for anything else plot wise
I really trust them to tell their story, but ive always found expectation subversion to be a pretty weak plot device. That said, the show is still amazing.
3:22 I was not expecting a Rat Race reference in a Legend of Vox Machina reaction. lol
Straight up Yamcha'd
Yikes! But also, yeah. 😔
10:11 .....LMFAO damn it guys 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Everyday is a week we have to wait.
They may wait for season 4 for Whisper (if at all) and the Spire of Conflux. Unless they arrive in these last three episodes.
Spoilers but I hope the spire is what feeble minds Rishan
With the way Anna was blinking around during the roof chase, I think they might just combine Whisper's thematic elements in with Cabal's Ruin to make Cabal's Ruin feel on the same power level as everyone else's vestige and to avoid the whole "Why does Vax get *two* vestiges?" thing. And I dunno, I feel like they'll tie the Spire of Conflux in with Keyleth's aramente somehow.
@@nathandeppisch6674 I mean, they did mention it, even if not by name. Sorry. I could have been a bit more vague
@@Onwlsi Those are all excellent points. Ones that I either forgot I thought about (Aramente) or I did not think about at all (the rest :D).
@@Onwlsi I like that, but it is kind of funny if it goes to Percy, then. Whisper's big feature was that it got you close to the enemy, but Percy's thing is shooting from a distance.
Pike legit just Care Bear Stared that Dragon!!
Kashs death shook me. RIP to my favorite guest character 😔
Also, I can’t help but wonder if Scanlan is comatose because the recordings were happening while Sam was going through his cancer treatments.
2:54 I appreciate the Will to joke!
4:28 Well! I did not see that coming!
I don't know what is happening with Pike, and I vehemently do not like her tossing her godesses symbol aside!
You know i just realized something but pike threw away her everlight symbol but she still has the one that zerxus gave her
I'll be real, I DO NOT like that Kash dies in this.
Death needs to feel final in this show, or everything afterword is just going to be “well why don’t they just resurrect them?”
Also I think they needed to do it to stop us campaign-viewers from loudly declaring, “Don’t worry guys; Percy is definitely coming back.” Because this sows the seed of doubt: “Oh yeah? Percy’s coming back? Just like Kash is alive and well?”
Kash only made one or two brief appearances after this, and has not appeared at all in either of the other two campaigns, so I wouldn’t call this a particularly hard break from the campaign. Also I’m certain that Will Friedle was fully on board with the deviation.
So no spoilers for those that don't know, but in the last 3, will we get to see Grog find a certain something? Personally I think they should end on it as a cliffhanger for those that don't know hehe Like why the hell is it so climatic finding that basic thing... if you know you know hehe
love this show. cant wait for next weeks reactions
Fix him.... 😢
EMMYS all around
Pike Care Bear Stare FTW
Dresden reference!
Spoilers for future stuff in the show
Taking a stab at how the next episodes will likely go.
Rhishon then The whispered one
I hope they bring Kash back it the only change that doesn't exactly sit right with me.
Yeah.. not a chance. His body is smashed and symbolism with the Matron played a part too.
I love the show!
Pickle Power. 😍

Hey Adam let me know if ya need a hug😊
Kash 😢
KASH SHOULD NOT BE DEAD!!! I don't understand the change ups. No. I dont like the changes.
I feel Pikes background is she is a decendant of one the children the dawnfather left behind during downfall. I think Zerxis is trying to get revenge by hurting the dawnfathers family like his was hurt.
I’m gonna guess that Pike and Zerxes…have similar birthdays
Pike is such a monster I think she ate most of the budget for that chest beam shot
"Fire at will!" Thank you, Adam, for finally being the person asking the obvious question!! This has been my personal riff for years, and no one else says it. Until now. I bow to you, sir, for making the impossible happen...
I always respond with, "What did Will ever do to you?!" 😂
@@IceMetalPunk Will knows what he did...
Also, Will Friedle, voice of Kash. Perhaps the line was meant in a different way than we think. Hmm...
Dude, I fucking love you guys. Your reaction videos are wonderful & I look forward to every LoVM one. Thanks for giving this show the respect it deserves and for being so genuine. SHIT ROCKS.
What an odd place to put your commercial. Kash dies and Jay suddenly starts singing. lol.
I have no idea how they're going to top this with 3 episodes left. That felt like a full-on movie.
Get a belly button crystal and you can be like Steven Univers.
😀
My theory with Pike has always been that she's related to the bloodline of the Everlight, who canonically had children who survived Calamity and Downfall. There's so much emphasis on blood and HER blood specifically, plus... it would be dope as hell.
As for Percy, the cast has said that they needed Percy's death to feel more consequential. Vex was revived within one episode of dying, and as per a game of d&d, if a character can repeatedly be brought back, then the stakes don't matter anymore, because why fear death? They'll bring Percy back eventually (and at this point, I don't even know if it'll be this season or not), but I think it'll be very different than it was in the campaign.
what's with the guy on the left here? he always has weird comments or starts acting stupid when sad moments happen in shows
