Prime is my favorite show and One is my favorite movie, but I can't decide between these two tbh (I also like the IDW comics actually, but not as much)
The marketing did this film so dirty. It's a shame it's box officeis so low. Hopefully streaming and toy sales are enough for them to make a full trilogy. We need it.

"I'm done saving you." That moment was so chilling. I knew D-16 had to betray Orion Pax eventually, but I was still stunned in that moment. Brian Tryee Henry was phenomenal.
“Do you want to stop him?” “No I want to _kill him!”_ That, right there, that moment, is when I stopped seeing D-16 and only saw Megatron for the rest of the movie.
I feel like they built that up so they could rip out his voice box later so it hits harder when it happens. Feel like Bee is gonna get captured by Megatron at some point and he is going to get tired of Bee talking so he's going to rip it out, cementing him as an evil person. Hopefully we get more movies so that storyline can happen.

One thing I never noticed until now was D-16's eyes get redder as the story progresses, they start yellow but by the time he has a scrap with Starscream, they're orange and obviously by the end they end up red.
paramount dropped the ball hard on the marketing, genuinely. Shoutouts to that one guy on twitter who did a better job selling the film than the billion dollar corporation.
I was on the same boat, man. That first trailer killed any hype or interest I had. And when I heard it was a flop, I wasn't surprised. BUT THEN, all the clips started getting uploaded, people who watched the film talked about it, lots of people were hyping it up, and all those clips made me so invested, I had to see the actual movie. And bro, the marketing team absolutely failed this movie. This movie was INCREDIBLE. I genuinely believe this is one of the best transformers films to exist. It has everything, and it is also unifying so many elements across many different iterations. It's so damn GOOD. This movie deserves so much more love and I'm glad it's getting it now that word is coming out how amazing this movie actually is
I skipped watching any trailers because I wanted to go in to the first viewing blind and man am I glad that I did. It would've convinced me not to go to the first showing. Me and my roommate were the only two people in the entire theatre for the first showing in my town.

Yea the marketing and promotional material failed this movie. I remember watching the first trailer for it and I didn't have high hopes, I thought it'd be stuffed with useless humor and a cheesy plot or something (especially because of Bumble Bee being portrayed as a seemingly forced comedic character type). But nope, this film is EVERYTHING Transformer fans have needed!
My favourite moment is when Orion is falling, and you can see cybertron transforming so he doesn't hit anything. Cybertron itself is transfroming to catch him as he falls.
I'd never expect Thor to sound SOOO similar to Peter Cullen, and the fact that his voice was GRADUALLY turning more and more Cullenesque throughout the entire movie is a SUCH great detail.
The best Transformers film yet. Optimus and Megatron's brotherhood getting torn apart is so sad yet fascinating. Also, as a Prime fan, I was thrilled by Airachnid's big screen debut.
yeah some movies are long and they just drag out and have some really boring downtime, there isnt a second of this movie that feels wasted, if it was longer it would just have to be stuffed with uneccesary filler stuff. There is a reason for that saying "less is more" it really applys well with shows and movies, hour long tv shows where it could have been 20 min episodes have been a plague lately too

Hell, it was quite sad seeing jazz in RID without his best bud cliffjumper, even worse knowing how he died on TF prime. Notice how the entire final battle sequence where Orion becomes Optimus is an homage to the flashback in TFP where Primus gives Orion the Matrix AND an homage to the scene from the TFP movie where Optimus gives up his life to revive Cybertron.
Elita One’s original name is Ariel. She and Orion are lovers in the original Generation 1 series of Transformers. They ended up changing their names to Elita One and Optimus Prime later on.
I love how the voice of Orion Pax got deeper and deeper throughout the whole movie till the end where he, reborn as Optimus Prime, sounded so close to Peter Cullen when he delivered the line "I, am Optimus Prime.".
Hemsworth did a fantastic job with a really difficult assignment, especially considering he’s a screen actor first, rather than primarily a voice actor. You could say the same thing about all the cast honestly, but OP is the hardest character to pull off convincingly, because Peter Cullen sets the standard so high.
'I want to kill him' Like, I can't even *blame* D-16 here. He literally just had it revealed that his entire life was a lie. That their "protector" was a liar, a traitor, a killer. That everything he's worked for and strived for is a lie. He wants revenge. And like. Revenge mission doesn't automatically = villain(hello Inigo Montoya). He just, took a different path an Optimus (who also was not wrong) and they couldn't see eye to eye on how to handle the situation. The story (of their friendship) is a tragedy. "I'm done saving you" That's the moment that D-16 died. That's the moment Orion Pax died. That was the moment Megatron and Optimus Prime were born. Re: Starscream, I mean he had to be SOMEONE and have some job before he was a Decepticon, since as I we see they didn't always exist. And he IS a capable fighter. So why not have him a former Elite Guard? And yeah, this movie is rated PG. It is wild as fuck what you can get away with when there's no actual blood or guts. They're robots and they don't bleed so it's fine to show them being ripped up and shredded apart and shit.
The amount of "miners" jokes people made around this movie cracked me up. Then again, the miners are minor class, so any miner that steps out of line is committing a major offense...
I went to go see this movie on the big screen, and my theatre was full of Transformers fans. I can guarantee that this is *THE BEST TRANSFORMERS MOVIE EVER!!!* Everyone in my theatre was on the edge of their seats in the 3rd Act and were clapping at the end of the movie, and Ive never seen people clap for a Transformers movie before! The trailers did this movie SOOO DIRTY! Everything from the stellar animation, music, fantastic fight scenes and choreography, the story, the character arcs and fantastic voice acting was just incredible. Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry truly blew me away, mainly because they absolutely killed it as Optimus and Megatron and brought a level of humanity to the characters as you truly understand where both of them are coming from and how much they care for each other as friends as it genuinely breaks your heart watching them fall apart. Brian Tyree Henry especially brought such a level of complex tragedy and emotional pain as D-16/Megatron that Ive never seen before when it comes to the character and honestly, he might be my new favourite take on Megatron. Usually Megatron has never been portrayed as a sympathetic villain who was a product of a corrupt system before in most media outside of the TF comics. I loved how you can see his thought process through his eyes and how he was genuinely happy being a miner and believed in the system, but after learning about the truth about Sentinel, his entire worldview shatters, and his mental state slowly collapses more and more. The moment he is mocked and tortured by Sentinel, D-16 finally has had enough, and the moment he accidentally shoots Orion, we see I'm going through a complete emotional breakdown seeing his best friend almost dead but also perceiving it as a betrayal as D-16 has always had to cover Orion and save him for all his recklessness. However, he still chooses to take the bullet because he is trying to save D-16 from making a terrible mistake, but ultimately, it is too late, and now only Megatron exists. Chris Hemsworth was also surprisingly excellent as Optimus Prime, and it really shocked me how much range he has as an actor/voice actor as he sounded like a young Peter Cullen. I especially love his arc of growing to understand his responsibilities and that scene where Orion inspires the miners to fight back against Sentinel was so empowering because it really shows what kind of person Orion is as I love the detail of Orion kneeling down at the miners' level because, unlike Sentinel, he was one of them and saw all of them as friends and family and inspiring all of them like a good father figure, which is everything Optimus Prime should be, a noble, hopeful leader whos never afraid to be gentle or compassionate to others. The movie is also surprisingly dark, as the trailers did not do this movie justice. There are genuinely a few mature and gruesome moments that shocked me and made me question whether this was a PG movie? It may have some moments of fun and levity for kids, which is funny, but when it needs to, it knows when to take itself seriously. It knows that the audience is smart enough to understand the Transformers franchise lore, which I appreciate. Im just disappointed with how poorly Paramount marketed this movie was as it truly deserved better promotion for such a great movie and yet the box office has many concerned that we might not even get a sequel, which I really hope this movie does get a trilogy of Transformers animated films because there is still so much potential to dive into the Civil War of Cybertron, the Quintessons, how Cybertron ultimately collapsed from the war and explore these characters on a deeper level.
One of the best films I’ve seen. Better than most bay movies. I hope if they do a sequel they delve into the start of the war on cybertron between the decepticons and autobots. And for anyone who was criticising the animation I almost got prime vibes from that animation but on a higher budget.

Transformers needed a reboot so badly in their movies, and while we did kinda get that in Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts, One knocked them all out of the water. It's a shame that the marketing for this movie stunk, because we deserve a trilogy with the quality of Transformers One. (shoutout to TFHypeGuy for getting a bunch of people on Twitter to see it)
I saw the film twice. It may not have Peter Cullen and Frank welker in it, but I really enjoy chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Herny in this. In case you didn't know, Megatronus prime is sometimes depicted as betrayer to the prime and goes by the name the fallen and is the firest decepticon, but in this movie he seems to be an actual hero and Sentinel prime is the betrayer. Can't wait for the sequel
Fyi : the decepticon used to be the army of cybertron while autobots usually filled with bots who worked as courier or scientists, thats why decepticon managed to cull the autobots

Kinda felt like they were laying the ground work for their relationship throughout the film. Especially with her pep talk to Orion to get him to believe in himself and not give up. A nice touch imo.
After seeing that final battle in the movie, at the cinema, I had to change my pants! It was amazing! I absolutely love how they use their ability to Transform in fights, showing that when it comes to fighting, they have almost no limits!
Wow, great point, I hadn’t thought of that at all, and I haven’t heard anyone else comment about it like this. If it was intentional, it’s one of the greatest Easter eggs in a movie full of them!
I learned about it just recently but it turned out that the composer of this movie, is Brian Tyler! Same guy that did the music for Transformers: Prime! And you can actually hear some bits of the sad theme from the show in the scene where Orion is granted the Matrix!
Something cool is how you can see Megatron's eyes turning slowly from yellow, to orange, to red, symbolizing his slow descent into madness. It's really cool.
fun fact, Peter Cullen (the usual Optimus va) was there to help "coach" Chris Hemsworth to do the best Orion Pax/Young Optimus. and i gotta say, thats probably one of the best things about the movie.
My favorite moment is when he gifts D16 the decal. It perfectly shows how much they care for one another and how much D16 holds Megatronus in high regard.

Elita-1 is a different character from Arcee. Her first name Elita-1 was Aerial. And in other transformers continuities, she's supposed to be Optimus/Orion's lover.

This is for anyone who might not be aware. It's a fresh take on their origin story. Honestly, it's a fantastic blend of all the different origin tales, including the Beast Wars. As a fan of the original Transformers, I think they did an amazing job with this. It respects the lore and manages to tie together all the Transformers series, even those from other dimensions.
Sentinel literally did eugenics to enforce classism, and betrayed the Primes for his own personal gain only for it all blow up in his face in the most spectacular way.

D16 is so great. From the jump he’s such a passionate and emotional character who cares so much about the things he loves (Sentinel Prime, Megatronus, Justice, etc.) that it makes what happens with Orion feel so natural and like it was coming the whole time and that you SHOULDVE expected it. Brian Tyree Henry cooked as the VA, obviously. One of my favorite parts of this movie (along w Orion and Sentinel)
I saw this in 4DX that´s when they got the chairs moving and some light effects and water drops etc. It was so fun and intense especially when they were on the train and it crashed. Felt like I was gonna fall out of my seat. Everybody laughed after that intense experience. And yeah just everything went togheter so well. Loved this!
I’m gonna be honest, I’m VERY biased to Prime and the books that serves as prequel material to Prime ( I would’ve LOVED to see Exodus animated), but this is amazing. Their are some things I would change, but it mostly has to do with character personality and I wouldn’t have made Bee in this movie (he’s typically not even born yet before the war, all he knew was war and I thought that would’ve been cool to make in the second movie). The most mind-numbing thing bout being a transformers fan. Is seeing people try and connect everything to the bayverse movies like it's the main continuity of transformers. And just to add to it, it ain't even their fault. So I can't even be mad bout it. Transformers is different from other fictional franchises to where there really isn't a main continuity like you see in Star Wars, Marvel, DC, etc. There are just multiple different continuities. Most with different lore and backgrounds for the story, world, and characters. And fans kinda just choose their favorite continuity and run with it. I'd say bayverse is only as popular as it is because it was the first continuity to showcase on the big screen for the masses to see. Drawing in tons of people who were unfamiliar with the franchise and making them fans. If I'm being honest, tho. Bayverse is among the worst of all the continuities out there. Unless you're into live action only, tons of action, and "realism" that is. Other than that, like 80% of the designs are bad. Development, direction, and lore/story are terrible.
The set up of starscream here makes his repeated attempts to usurp megatron make alot more sense. The central tenent of his beleife is that the strobg rule, megatrin beat him up so now hes in charge, but when he thinks he can beat him he will try. And when he fails he falls right back in line, having seen megatron prove himself again. Until the next time he feels strong.
I completely agree, they really could not have handled it any better - it was extremely clever writing. Perfection really, and just a small part of the whole movie being a love letter to long time fans of the franchise.
As one who saw the 1986 film at the cinema as a kid, I can safely say this is the best, most definitive, Transformers film so far. The very real possibility that it won't get a sequel makes me almost as furious as D-16 was here.

Just a heads up this movie is its own continuity. Its not related to the Prime show but it shares aspects of it and it has the same composer which is why the music slaps so much and why you can hear the actual Prime show theme in the movie a few times.
That’s actually not arcee, that’s her sister Elita-1, and her other sister chromia is the one who won 1st place in the Iacon 5000, and arcee is one of the miner bots who get a cog at the end.

Orion’s Speech was really when he became Optimus Prime. And “I’m done saving you” was when D really became Megatron
And let's not forget The Fall starting to play with a big bang of orchestra which made that scene hit harder.

One thing I never noticed until now was D-16's eyes get redder as the story progresses, they start yellow but by the time he has a scrap with Starscream, they're orange and obviously by the end they end up red.

I was on the same boat, man. That first trailer killed any hype or interest I had. And when I heard it was a flop, I wasn't surprised. BUT THEN, all the clips started getting uploaded, people who watched the film talked about it, lots of people were hyping it up, and all those clips made me so invested, I had to see the actual movie. And bro, the marketing team absolutely failed this movie. This movie was INCREDIBLE. I genuinely believe this is one of the best transformers films to exist. It has everything, and it is also unifying so many elements across many different iterations. It's so damn GOOD. This movie deserves so much more love and I'm glad it's getting it now that word is coming out how amazing this movie actually is
I skipped watching any trailers because I wanted to go in to the first viewing blind and man am I glad that I did. It would've convinced me not to go to the first showing. Me and my roommate were the only two people in the entire theatre for the first showing in my town.

I remember watching the first trailer for it and I didn't have high hopes, I thought it'd be stuffed with useless humor and a cheesy plot or something (especially because of Bumble Bee being portrayed as a seemingly forced comedic character type).

My favourite moment is when Orion is falling, and you can see cybertron transforming so he doesn't hit anything. Cybertron itself is transfroming to catch him as he falls.

Elita One’s original name is Ariel. She and Orion are lovers in the original Generation 1 series of Transformers. They ended up changing their names to Elita One and Optimus Prime later on.

I love how the voice of Orion Pax got deeper and deeper throughout the whole movie till the end where he, reborn as Optimus Prime, sounded so close to Peter Cullen when he delivered the line "I, am Optimus Prime.".
Hemsworth did a fantastic job with a really difficult assignment, especially considering he’s a screen actor first, rather than primarily a voice actor. You could say the same thing about all the cast honestly, but OP is the hardest character to pull off convincingly, because Peter Cullen sets the standard so high.

Like, I can't even *blame* D-16 here. He literally just had it revealed that his entire life was a lie. That their "protector" was a liar, a traitor, a killer. That everything he's worked for and strived for is a lie. He wants revenge. And like. Revenge mission doesn't automatically = villain(hello Inigo Montoya). He just, took a different path an Optimus (who also was not wrong) and they couldn't see eye to eye on how to handle the situation.
The story (of their friendship) is a tragedy.
"I'm done saving you" That's the moment that D-16 died. That's the moment Orion Pax died. That was the moment Megatron and Optimus Prime were born.
Re: Starscream, I mean he had to be SOMEONE and have some job before he was a Decepticon, since as I we see they didn't always exist. And he IS a capable fighter. So why not have him a former Elite Guard?
And yeah, this movie is rated PG. It is wild as fuck what you can get away with when there's no actual blood or guts. They're robots and they don't bleed so it's fine to show them being ripped up and shredded apart and shit.
The amount of "miners" jokes people made around this movie cracked me up. Then again, the miners are minor class, so any miner that steps out of line is committing a major offense...

I went to go see this movie on the big screen, and my theatre was full of Transformers fans. I can guarantee that this is *THE BEST TRANSFORMERS MOVIE EVER!!!* Everyone in my theatre was on the edge of their seats in the 3rd Act and were clapping at the end of the movie, and Ive never seen people clap for a Transformers movie before! The trailers did this movie SOOO DIRTY!
Everything from the stellar animation, music, fantastic fight scenes and choreography, the story, the character arcs and fantastic voice acting was just incredible. Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry truly blew me away, mainly because they absolutely killed it as Optimus and Megatron and brought a level of humanity to the characters as you truly understand where both of them are coming from and how much they care for each other as friends as it genuinely breaks your heart watching them fall apart. Brian Tyree Henry especially brought such a level of complex tragedy and emotional pain as D-16/Megatron that Ive never seen before when it comes to the character and honestly, he might be my new favourite take on Megatron. Usually Megatron has never been portrayed as a sympathetic villain who was a product of a corrupt system before in most media outside of the TF comics. I loved how you can see his thought process through his eyes and how he was genuinely happy being a miner and believed in the system, but after learning about the truth about Sentinel, his entire worldview shatters, and his mental state slowly collapses more and more. The moment he is mocked and tortured by Sentinel, D-16 finally has had enough, and the moment he accidentally shoots Orion, we see I'm going through a complete emotional breakdown seeing his best friend almost dead but also perceiving it as a betrayal as D-16 has always had to cover Orion and save him for all his recklessness. However, he still chooses to take the bullet because he is trying to save D-16 from making a terrible mistake, but ultimately, it is too late, and now only Megatron exists. Chris Hemsworth was also surprisingly excellent as Optimus Prime, and it really shocked me how much range he has as an actor/voice actor as he sounded like a young Peter Cullen. I especially love his arc of growing to understand his responsibilities and that scene where Orion inspires the miners to fight back against Sentinel was so empowering because it really shows what kind of person Orion is as I love the detail of Orion kneeling down at the miners' level because, unlike Sentinel, he was one of them and saw all of them as friends and family and inspiring all of them like a good father figure, which is everything Optimus Prime should be, a noble, hopeful leader whos never afraid to be gentle or compassionate to others. The movie is also surprisingly dark, as the trailers did not do this movie justice. There are genuinely a few mature and gruesome moments that shocked me and made me question whether this was a PG movie? It may have some moments of fun and levity for kids, which is funny, but when it needs to, it knows when to take itself seriously. It knows that the audience is smart enough to understand the Transformers franchise lore, which I appreciate.
Im just disappointed with how poorly Paramount marketed this movie was as it truly deserved better promotion for such a great movie and yet the box office has many concerned that we might not even get a sequel, which I really hope this movie does get a trilogy of Transformers animated films because there is still so much potential to dive into the Civil War of Cybertron, the Quintessons, how Cybertron ultimately collapsed from the war and explore these characters on a deeper level.
One of the best films I’ve seen. Better than most bay movies. I hope if they do a sequel they delve into the start of the war on cybertron between the decepticons and autobots. And for anyone who was criticising the animation I almost got prime vibes from that animation but on a higher budget.

Transformers needed a reboot so badly in their movies, and while we did kinda get that in Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts, One knocked them all out of the water. It's a shame that the marketing for this movie stunk, because we deserve a trilogy with the quality of Transformers One. (shoutout to TFHypeGuy for getting a bunch of people on Twitter to see it)
I saw the film twice. It may not have Peter Cullen and Frank welker in it, but I really enjoy chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Herny in this. In case you didn't know, Megatronus prime is sometimes depicted as betrayer to the prime and goes by the name the fallen and is the firest decepticon, but in this movie he seems to be an actual hero and Sentinel prime is the betrayer. Can't wait for the sequel

This is for anyone who might not be aware. It's a fresh take on their origin story. Honestly, it's a fantastic blend of all the different origin tales, including the Beast Wars. As a fan of the original Transformers, I think they did an amazing job with this. It respects the lore and manages to tie together all the Transformers series, even those from other dimensions.

D16 is so great. From the jump he’s such a passionate and emotional character who cares so much about the things he loves (Sentinel Prime, Megatronus, Justice, etc.) that it makes what happens with Orion feel so natural and like it was coming the whole time and that you SHOULDVE expected it. Brian Tyree Henry cooked as the VA, obviously. One of my favorite parts of this movie (along w Orion and Sentinel)
I saw this in 4DX that´s when they got the chairs moving and some light effects and water drops etc. It was so fun and intense especially when they were on the train and it crashed. Felt like I was gonna fall out of my seat. Everybody laughed after that intense experience. And yeah just everything went togheter so well. Loved this!

I’m gonna be honest, I’m VERY biased to Prime and the books that serves as prequel material to Prime ( I would’ve LOVED to see Exodus animated), but this is amazing. Their are some things I would change, but it mostly has to do with character personality and I wouldn’t have made Bee in this movie (he’s typically not even born yet before the war, all he knew was war and I thought that would’ve been cool to make in the second movie). The most mind-numbing thing bout being a transformers fan. Is seeing people try and connect everything to the bayverse movies like it's the main continuity of transformers. And just to add to it, it ain't even their fault. So I can't even be mad bout it.
Transformers is different from other fictional franchises to where there really isn't a main continuity like you see in Star Wars, Marvel, DC, etc. There are just multiple different continuities. Most with different lore and backgrounds for the story, world, and characters. And fans kinda just choose their favorite continuity and run with it.
I'd say bayverse is only as popular as it is because it was the first continuity to showcase on the big screen for the masses to see. Drawing in tons of people who were unfamiliar with the franchise and making them fans.
If I'm being honest, tho. Bayverse is among the worst of all the continuities out there. Unless you're into live action only, tons of action, and "realism" that is. Other than that, like 80% of the designs are bad. Development, direction, and lore/story are terrible.
The set up of starscream here makes his repeated attempts to usurp megatron make alot more sense.
The central tenent of his beleife is that the strobg rule, megatrin beat him up so now hes in charge, but when he thinks he can beat him he will try.
And when he fails he falls right back in line, having seen megatron prove himself again.

I completely agree, they really could not have handled it any better - it was extremely clever writing. Perfection really, and just a small part of the whole movie being a love letter to long time fans of the franchise.

As one who saw the 1986 film at the cinema as a kid, I can safely say this is the best, most definitive, Transformers film so far. The very real possibility that it won't get a sequel makes me almost as furious as D-16 was here.

Just a heads up this movie is its own continuity. Its not related to the Prime show but it shares aspects of it and it has the same composer which is why the music slaps so much and why you can hear the actual Prime show theme in the movie a few times.
