"Pepperbox" is a real world term for the kind of gun Percy built. It has rotating barrels that reminded people of a pepper grinder. They're the original revolvers.
And they seem to be calling it "Pepperbox" like it's a name, but in the original campaign the name of the gun was actually called The List (because of that list of names on the barrel).

The Scanbo mission went from Sam going "I should run away right?" to "I'm gonna kill everyone in this motherfuckin house!" in just a couple of rounds. Definitely a moment that Sam truly turned the tables on everyone.
The look on the DM's face when Scanlan told him what he wanted to do with Scanlan. That was a set of scenes that I think everyone was on the edge of their seats, with no idea what would come of it.

I haven't watched CR so I don't know much about the lore, but I don't think the pepperbox should be as strong as it is. It looks like a VERY early version of a revolver with ball bullets instead of modern ones that are pointed. Bullets being pointed helps with range, power, and accuracy.
@@TheHysteriaMan Even in game, the List (name of the pepperbox) isn’t normal. It’s enchanted to also shoot magic bullets, one being ice and the other fire. After it’s destruction, no character has ever made a gun like it since without the gun doing drastic damage in some form to the user.
@@TheHysteriaMan ganeplay wise it is very powerful but it also has a lot of draw backs. Basically the stronger the gun can be the smaller the useful window. If he rolls below a certain number the gun misfires requiring him to sacrifice a turn to fix it and it can be damaged irreparably. The list/peppermint is the most reliable of the two guns with a reasonable balance. Bad News is basically a glass cannon. High risk High reward. It can do massive damage but fails quite often
You assume the Professor cared about having a hostage. Like he said, this isn't a negotiation. This actually happened in their game. Scanlan soloing Vedmire's house and burning that shit to the ground. That WAS a potion of Dragon Breath, so you were right on that one. The spell was called Polymorph, it's a REALLY good DnD spell. Scanlan DID use it to turn into a triceretops and wrecked shit, it was AMAZING. That is canonically the way Scanlan casts the lightning bolt spell. With a pelvic thrust.

Vex's behavior is related to traits of her brother that she trusts vs. traits she doesn't trust. She trusts Vax's ability to survive extreme dangers. But she thinks he is a bit of a softie, and might be hurt badly if he falls in love with the wrong person. Or, maybe she fears that he might leave her if he falls in love. That doesn't even have to be implied to be romantic. Siblings are often fiercely protective of each other's emotional well-being. But she trusts his ability to survive Percy's guns more than she trusts his ability to deal with heartbreak..
Also fun fact: rewatch the scene with Keyleth seeing the vision from the Sun Tree. After Scanlan says "Wait, who is the sixth barrel for?" Look at Percy's shadow before they move. It's very fast but his shadow on the wall behind him is cast in a way that makes it look like he his holding the barrel to his head.
So a low alcohol content ale would put out a fire, a HIGH alcohol content would ignite. Like the ale in the prison. 💙💙💙 The things you learn b/c of DND 😅
also i noticed you guys were wondering why he would dump the ale on it if it is alcoholic. ale is a type of beer, what we call beer today is actually a lager, which is beer that is fermented at 30-50 degrees F, (0-10 degress C) if it is fermented at 60-70 degrees F, (15-20 degrees C) then it is an ale. basically the same drink, but it gives them slightly different flavours. but ya, it's all beer. they just call them ales in fantasy shows because it sounds cooler. also ale's were a lot more common back then because they could not cool it down enough to make a lager. both drinks are good though.
In the D&D show Scanlan had multiple times cast a lightning bolt spell from his crotch. So they decided to bring it into the show. Also the Scanbo episode in the original show was amazing and I think you guys should watch the clip of it when you got the chance.
Not gonna lie I kinda preferred the original way Scanlan made that distraction. It's still very enjoyable, but nothing quite beats what he original did. In the original timeline: Scanlan purposely walked through the front entrance of that building. (The place where Grog said "Not everything is a trap.") That area was filled with tons of guards, including the archers you saw on the balcony. They weren't expecting anyone. Scanlan's reaction to seeing them wasn't to run away like a sane person, but to instead transform himself into a dinosaur and charge them. He's caused a distraction at this point. He doesn't need to stay there anymore. What does Scanlan decide to do? He decides he is going to troll these guards. He conjures a poisonous cloud to make all the chasing guards want to gag, he leads everyone up the roof, he waits for them to climb the ladder to the roof and sets it on fire. That's when the captain gets on top of the roof. Scanlan has a teleportation spell. It's how he got on top of the roof. He could have teleported out of this building at any moment in time. He can teleport away right now instead of fighting the captain. Scanlan however wants to "fight" the captain. So Scanlan conjures that hand and pushes the captain off the roof. He then takes the time to walk to the edge of the roof, look at the captain, and then teleport away.
Just subscribed, and to answer the one question, Anders killed Cassandra because he could. He hated the de Rolos, and he did that in front of Percy because that would hurt him even more than just killing him. But don’t worry, the show gets more badass from here.
Facts bro. After seeing episode 8 it’s gets cleared up in the first 5 minutes about his intentions. We come to this conclusion. We see Anders capabilities, whether Cassandra was actually going to die or na. We often will make a few theories and see how it goes next episode
You guys gotta remember that this is based on a d&d campaign, so normal logic doesn’t really apply to how characters act in the story. Questioning every last move they make or trying to compare it to a trope/cliche will only make it even more confusing, so think about each character as a player at a d&d table instead.

Percy was the first to invent a firearm in this world. We dont see it in this series butbin the live game the DM that runs the game hinted at other groups trying to recreate his weapon. Percy understanding how dangerous the world could become if it was filled with guns decided to later destroy any plans or projects others had to recreate his weapon. In the live game way way later percys nightmare comes true and he sees other groups starting to use firearms. It eas kind of this sick twisted realizing you created what will become a huge issue in modern day with shootings and what not.
"How do you put ale on a fire?" Well, it depends on the alcoholic beverage. Things like vodka will definitely catch fire, but ale is generally non-flamable, and you can put a fire out with it. Not sure how it exactly works, most likely due to chemical processes and alcohol content, but you can put a fire out with the right booze.
i know their ahead but they do not have any fans that can tell them this is based on a dnd campaign from here on youtube critical role. if their gonna enjoy it this much they should give credit where its do and understand how this show even came to be. it makes it so much better knowing the characters are real people making their decisions. with some abridging

Vex was yelling at Keyleth because she LIT A FIRE when they're all trying to HIDE OUT. It makes perfect sense why Vex snapped on her because in that moment, keyleth could have given away their position and gotten them all killed.

People use subtitles for a variety of reasons- ESL, audio processing issues, those who are deaf/Deaf or hard of hearing, people with different dialects or accents when listening to a different accent or dialect, or REACTORS to make sure they're interpreting what is said correctly. Some people just do it because they can, and it's not bad. Because they're talking over the scene with their reaction, given the nature of the channel, the subtitles are also to help their viewers understand what they're commenting on, given the layered voices.
