Thanks for the video. I have the Walkers Razor XV3.0 with foam tips for a little over a year now I don’t do competition shooting but I go to indoor range once every two weeks and they have been great so far, and I never connected the Bluetooth so I don’t know how it works with it on, mainly because I don’t want to be bothered when im shooting.
I was rather hoping all the issues were with the Bluetooth function, and I could lean into the Axil XCOR (non-Pro) just for the hearing protection.. but these sound unsatisfactory / insufficient for an indoor range as it is. Solid info, thank you.
The hearing enhancement is controlled by the small rectangular button on top of the left earbud. Tapping the larger face of the same earbud controls the Bluetooth connection. When you say you’re the hearing enhancement isn’t functioning any longer are you pressing the small button on top? From your description it sounds like you’re tapping the Bluetooth controls.
You will have to turn the pass through noise setting all the way down, it does pick up wind and pass it through to your ear. I don’t ride but I’d guess these wouldn’t be better than AirPods or other high end Bluetooth earbuds
Has anyone tried switching out the silicone ear pieces for foam and used Apple Air Pro 2’s? Looking at specs seems they are very similar with Apple having better Bluetooth and phone interface. I’m looking for outdoor sooting and duck blind.
I’m confused on what you’re saying & what you mean. You mention the hearing enhancement hurting your ears. That’s not how hearing protection works. The speaker inside of the ear bud will never be loud enough to hurt or damage your hearing, regardless of electronic hearing enhancement or passive. All of the actual hearing protection comes from the seal of the ear buds/ear muffs. Is it possible you just had yours way too loud, which was just uncomfortable?
@@SparkyTactics I didn’t mean the speaker inside the ear bud hurt, I mean the loud gunfire outside simply still hurt my ears despite the hearing protection. This wasn’t always the case, but sometimes I in extremely loud circumstances
@ Oh gotcha! That makes more sense! Interesting. I’m going to have to try them in that kind of more..intense, so to say, setting as opposed to just range use with a couple buddies. Thanks for the video man!
Very helpful! Thank you! Been using the 3M Peltor for 6 years now. First pair (E-100) lasted about 4 years & were gr8. 2nd pair EEP-100 only 8 months, won't hold charge...so disappointed for the price I paid. Looking for replacement for competition. Any suggestions welcomed. Been checking out Otto's but users seem to complain about poor battery life of earpiece. My original Petlor E-100 lasted for years and only had to replace them due to the disintegration of the rubber push button on each.
I don’t have first hand experience with the Otto’s but Ray from the X ring uses them and talks good things about their battery life. I think that’s the route I’m going to go but it might be a few months before I can get them and put out a decent review. If you find a better solution please write back and let me know, good luck!
100% agreed. Super helpful & first honest product review I’ve seen on these! Thanks for sharing this video! I also got them earlier this year and feel they were overpriced at $299 given the features. I haven’t had the high pitch while charging and my buttons continue to work but will keep monitoring. The Bluetooth thing is absolutely annoying when I think I’m charging them and it takes over my phone audio. The controls are also confusing. On the plus side: they work well and look cool, I found them easy to put on, battery lasts long for my light range use, also great for non-range activities, and the mic apparently is very good according to people when I’m on calls.
I have had mine for about a year with no Bluetooth issues with my phone. Just confirming that the hearing protection volume level is controlled by the button on top of the earbud and not by tapping. Tapping controls the Bluetooth volume along with track control. I hope they send you a new pair as it sounds like you have a bad set with the Bluetooth problems.
I'll stick with my $50 walkers. Was thinking about getting these but you changed my mind. Saved my $$
Saved me some money. Thanks for the honest review!

Thanks for the review this was the information I was looking for

Dang I just bought these. I’m thinking I might just return them. I didn’t hear anything good about them. Thank you for the good review.
Thank you. Sounded like an honest review.

I hope I have better luck with the GS Extreme 2.0 that I ordered a couple days ago.
will they block out wind noise when you're riding your motorcycle?

@@rjp3579I agree it sounds like there may be some confusion with the controls.
I was going to use them for USPSA match with my open gun. they are not for open gun.
I will pass on them, thank you
