Banish 30 from Silencer Central - Review
Thanks for the tips. Definitely need to beef up our supplies and maybe arms...😅
how do you feel it will shoot at 1000+ yards?
I shot a PRS match with it last weekend and the longest shot was just over 1000yds. It did pretty well
@QualitySportsman I'm just getting into long range. My buddy who has been shooting prs for a long time now, is saying I should only buy Leopold mk4 8-32. Going to cost me 1300-1400$ that atken 650... I know buy once cry once but reviews seem to imply it punches well above its weight. Budgets a huge factor for me.
@@aodhanoceallaigh8533spend as much as you can. Also, just for PRS, you definitely don’t need a 35x scope, I shot that 1024yard shot on probably no more than 16 power. Most of my matches are shot on 12x comfortable between 400-800 yards. That might help you save some $$
@@QualitySportsman maybe, I have pretty bad eyes kinda figured lil more power would be helpful
@@aodhanoceallaigh8533it would but then you can’t find any targets if you’re too zoomed in. It’s a tough balance to strike, you want to find the furthest out you can be zoomed so you can have a wider field of view, but still be able to spot your impacts and misses at long distance. It obviously depends on the discipline/style you are shooting, and sometimes it does help to zoom all the way in, but if you have to engage multiple targets it will be difficult to find the next if you overdo it.
Thanks for making us aware of the necessity for being prepared for severe weather such as what Helene brought. I’m sure you’ll be more than ready incase of another storm in the future. Your efforts to help the neighbors in need is exemplary.
Great video, many lessons learned from Helene.
@QualitySportsman Is it limited to higher grain bullet selection? The highest I saw available is 105. Can you load the 108 like the arc has?
Great video
Do you think it would work with a piston system? Thank You nice video
Illumination is meant for low light or dark background use.. it is not designed for daylight super bright use.
That may be the case, but literally every other scope I have with Illuminati, including another Arken, is useful during the day time. Curious why this one is so weak
THAT IS NOT THE RETICLE !!
Wow, good catch, this was a big mistake on my part! Thanks for the heads up, I dropped a link in the description with the actual reticle from Arken's website.
Overall, the scope seems to be a good value for that price point. Curious as to what rings you went with. Would you consider Arken rigid precision 20 moa mount?
I don’t have any experience with the Arken rings unfortunately. A good set of rings goes a long way, but I personally don’t like to go too overboard. I use Vortex precision matched rings, they’ve always worked well for me.
Isn't it true that when using a 2nd focal plane, the markings are proportional. It's true what you said, the markings are good at the max magnification. For example: lets say first dot is 2mil @ 8X (max), but its also proportional, meaning @ 4x, the same mark would be 1mil. @ 2x - .5mil? I might be wrong??
The reticle grows in proportion to the zoom on a first focal plane scope. Second focal plane reticles remain the same exact size no matter the magnification, which is why the scope markings are only accurate at one zoom level, usually max zoom.
Teflon tape and won’t move! One wrap
Nice shooting, really interesting cartridge.
Thanks for the honest review, what bag are you using?
Appreciate the comment! I’m using the Armageddon Gear Gamechanger back, size: shmedium, with the heavy fill. Hope that helps, there are a lot of good bags out there, the A.G. one in this video is good, the MDT Peanut is good, those are two I have direct experience with
60 days to get my Banish 30 with a trust. and 6 weeks to get my Banish 45 no trust
Mine just got approved. About 2 months, with a trust. It’s literally just a dice roll……
Yea sounds like it! I am hearing some folks are getting it in two days, and some are still waiting 6-8months. I guess, in a way, that makes it kind of fun…? 😅
Any updates on using the V4 System?
Yeah, I noticed that on the Arken's with resepct to the backwards power ring - hate that part of them.
It’s the operator not the scope and he is the weak link.
This is kind of a stab in the back for arken he advertises out to 700 yards and really doesn’t know how to adjust a scope to its full use. I use the 5-25 in 1k competition and just started with the 7-35. This is an amazeing scope company and less than 1k dollars can beat the hell out of 3k to 6k dollar scopes
Saying this can beat a 6k$ scope is a wild comment.
Trash video absolutely nothing on how to or view inside.
Thanks bro this was an awesome video. This is the first comprehensive video that I've seen where someone has look at this optic and been honest about the scope. I appreciate this review and look forward to shooting that optic.
Thanks for the feedback! Glad I could be of help.
Great Video. I appreciate that you say what needs to be said and don’t stretch out the video with pauses and constant repetition like other channels do. I will be checking back to your channel when I need to research shooting topics because of this.
Thanks you! Appreciate the feedback, let me know what other types of videos you’d like to see about long range shooting 👍
Oh look another Arken scope review
Yet you still clicked on it and left this comment 😂
I'm not sure if I can take advice on clarity quality when the highest definition of this video is 480p 😄 JK man, good info, thanks for sharing.
I wish I had a good comeback! lol, I’ve since figured out how to upload better quality, regardless I’m glad you enjoyed the content.
At 1x you are using a LPVO as a red dot. That is the whole point. 1x for CQB and the ability to use the 8x for long stuff
I see your point but it’s not really a red dot, it’s like a hollow 30 MOA circle with no reference in the middle. That’s my issue with it. Other LPVO reticles solve this problem that Arken did not.
This cartridge excels at ignoring what most people do not understand and instead focusing on what they do-raw performance. Short stubby cartridges can burn the powder supply faster, which is superior to every more popular shorter barrel ARs. Sig's 6.8x57 higher-pressure round is misunderstood for the same reason. The higher pressure doesn't give as much performance as it enables the use of faster-burning powders, so it excels in shorter barrels. The 6 Max uses a slower burning powder to keep burning/pushing the bullet for longer as it travels down longer barrels. It will be a great hunting round, but the 6 ARC is better for military/short-barrel applications.
55gr 6 max comes out of a 10.3 in at over 3000 FPS. 6 ARC is not better for a military application, because not even they could get a magazine to work right.
@@kite2036@kite2036 A 6 max out of 10.3 will throw a fireball, giving away the shooter's position. It could never work for the military. Geissele 6 ARC mags run flawlessly.
@@coreymoyers5771 lol
@@coreymoyers5771 Suppressors are becoming standard issue even across the USMC. Though I would like to see 6mm max at night under some hard use inconel cans with such a short barrel
Voll Scheiße TH-cam trotz Kanalsperre der Waffenmüll 💩💩💩💩😡😡😡🤮🤮🤮🤮
What works pretty good as well is an empty shell case with the primer removed. Takes the guess work out of center of bore.
That’s a pretty good tip! I’m also wondering if I should stop being lazy and just get a bore sight, but I usually get on target within a couple rounds anyways
Try the case trick first but yeah eyeball down the bore gets you very close
It's going to be tough for u to spot impacts. That blink is hard to get rid of, but once u shoot enough, it will go away. Also something else that will help, after the shot move the bolt to the rear dial and then move. U were sky loading the next round, dialing then getting back on the gun. Most comps will dq u for that.
I spot all my impacts during competition, I blink when I zero because I make extra sure to have a good trigger squeeze and it does surprise me a little with such a light trigger.
what rifle caliber is that and what muzzle device are you using?
It’s a 6mm creedmoor, and the muzzle brake is an area 419 hellfire brake
Supporting from the toilet
Very helpful ty!
Glad it was helpful!
This is why you run a micro dot with a lpvo😯
I’ve seen other reticles that solve this problem and completely eliminate the need for a secondary red dot. Granted that’s the vortex razor at 2k$ plus, but still, if they just had a bigger reference in the middle at 1x you would know where your bullet would hit, instead of needing another sight.
I DO NOT LIKE THE REVERSEpower ring their other scopes are not that way!!!!!
I’m not a fan either, interesting/odd design choice
$599.99 with code LOWEST....
Good video. Love the blooper in the intro lol
5? 7? same thing! 😂
@@QualitySportsman lol was just poking fun. Have a good one bud!
@@frostypreppersk3593no worries I approve of fun poking, and I appreciated the comment!
On the zero stop you screw down to touch then back off 1/4 turn. Turret will not be tight and will be a dead stop on zero.
Might not be better but just as good and clear. Remember Vortex are made in China also
Please check out the Arken Japanese glass7-35x56 it's only 599.99 with the code (lowest } right now.
Chrome BCGs beatS nickel boron coated,,, chrome is a lot more durable and a slicker BCG Than nickle boron ... nickel boron also stains and eventually will turn almost black due to staining...
Hey Big Mike, another great review! Awesome scope at a reasonable price. Nice shooting!
Got them was not a fan the enhanced hearing had a loud constant hissing sound made them unusable and with it off no point might as well just use some foam ear plugs for far cheaper.
Great video
I bought one of these a while ago, as a spare, just to have around type of suppressor. I've still never used it, but I did bust off the DT mount and attached a rearden/atlas mount I got from Ecco when they still made them. I think I'll try it tomorrow. I can't say I'd buy another can from them... the appeal at first was the fact that I could clean it, which meant I could thread a Mosin and burn up all this surplus ammo I collected 15 years ago. There are far better cans and much easier buying experiences, like from Silencer Shop and Capitol Armory.
I bought the Banish 30 Gold. I was approved in 2 days. Silencer Central took care of everything. They were amazing!
Nice! How do you like the Gold? You think it’s worth the price?
@@QualitySportsman It will ship to me this Friday after the 7 day mandatory waiting period. So Just purchased it and went through the process with Silencer Central. I was amazed the approval time was only 2 days. I will let you know how I like it but I was willing to pay the extra amount for the QD as I have 4 rifles I will use it on so the quick detach is very important. I am very excited to shoot my 300 BLK suppressed. I'll keep you posted!
@@mschuer100awesome! I’m doing a 300blk suppressed build as well. Let me know how yours goes!
@@QualitySportsman You should definitely do a video of you building the 300 BLK and then shooting it suppressed. I have two of them, neither one of them my own build, though. I have a CMMG 8" Banshee which is unbelievable, and a Palmetto State Armory 16", which is amazing as well, and quite accurate. That one I will do some tinkering on and change out some stuff...little by little. I'll hit you up once I get the Banish thrown on them and out some rounds through them.
Basspro has 10% for my military Brothers, especially on holidays
Been 121 days so far even got to congressmen to try to help me still nothing

As an individual

Help me out here: this cartridge shoot similar BC bullets to similar speeds are regular 5.56. Ok, for hunting another couple hundred lb-ft is useful I suppose. But other than AR hunting, what’s the point here? The Grendel and ARC are proven. If this whole justification for this cartridge depends on the nonexistent “bolt breakage” problem of the other cartridges, then I have new for you: 5.56 bolt break too, and the 6.5G and 6ARC are as reliable IF YOU HONOR THE PRESSURE. Guys with bolt breakage issues are overpressuring these rounds trying to to turn them into Creedmoors. And why is nobody talking about the OAL being longer than 2.26”?
My son just got approved in 2 days.
Nice! Seems like a mixed bag, I have friends that were approved in a couple weeks, and some folks here are reporting they’ve been waiting months.
