Be even cooler if it read environmentals, mainly temp, and saved them with the shot session as well. Would help when making temp tables in your Kestrel. The ability to link directly to your Kestrel would be awesome as well.
Meh the extra money is worth it to me for the extra time I’ve had it. I needed a chronograph for some load development, and developed said loads way before the Athlon was even announced. I have no complaints about the Garmin, so it’s been money well spent.

I am a Big Garmin fan, and I have gone from two GPSs to Garmin watches and Garmin chronographs. I have Athlon scopes, but it is $350 for a small-size chronograph, which is a big deal. Great mooove Athlon.
If it did, they would have pointed that out right away.... The FX is a 1,000 bucks and will not fit in your pocket!... Strelok on your phone will calculate BC, and not having to pay an extra 400 bucks for a couple of less key strokes ...
You still need to know the bullet speed downrange if you use Strelok or whatever to calculate the BC of your bullet, so not a question about of less key strokes

I love dustin and Athlon but he completely missed over actual competing products like the Caldwell Velocitor, LabRadar LX and FX air guns. $350 is cool though. Is it recoil rated? Can it calculate BC? Can you set the distance where it captures velocity? Wanted to pop by there but totally did not have time.
I just bought the labradar LX very happy with it so far but if this athlon was on the market for 350 i would rather have bought one of those by the looks of it

Great price, but how does the accuracy and tracking abilities compare to the others? What's the tracking range of projectiles like 6.5, or 6mm or even .224 calibers? How finicky is it to setup for proper tracking?
There'll be more competition in that range like the AndiScan A3. More details would be nice like battery life, time to process to the next shot, warranty...

I dont really see how linking it to the app helps other then to save you from retyping the 4 digits of avg velocity. Unless you can do an entire point in time atmospherics dope card in the app syncing the rest of the data is meh.
People tend to forget that the shooting community, especially long-range precision shooting, has turned into a gluttony of who can acquire the most expensive gadgets and equipment. This is partly due to TH-cam personalities constantly hyping new products for easy clicks and engagement, but it’s also just a natural pissing contest that all men engage in regardless of the hobby. So many people will still go with the garmin, just because it’s more expensive.
I call BS on any decent, smart, modern Hunter, that take the info right off of the box to build their ballistics charts. You can not trust the accuracy printed on the box, for your gun, in your particular environment. Again, you can Not trust the specs from the box, ( 😳looking at you Hornady🙄🙄!!! ) Most of the people I know chrono their loads and try to verify the ballistics. Personally, I like to check my stuff every year, though out the year, just to stay on it. On of the biggest issues is wind, not drop. Does this work or the app work with kestrels?

Looks awesome, how far out does it track the bullet and can it caculate the BC of the bullet like the FX True Ballistic Radar?

Battery life is 6 hours, rechargeable by USB-C. If you listened to the audio in the video, you would have heard that.

Multiple places online have sold the Garmin Xero for under $480 over the last year. Sure the retail price is $599 but you can find it cheaper.
