  • Ann challenged herself to create a project that does not require special tools or an advanced knowledge of Clayology. Three fun projects with TEMPLATES INCLUDED in link below. A great project to try yourself or, just watch Ann do all the work! It's a fun video to relax and watch! WAIT THERE's MORE!! An interesting review of an Opulence Glaze we've never tried...AND...you get to meet Bribesy The Owl, The Official Anti-Corruption Owl of LSP. We went with Bribesy because the US Government threatened us with Law Suits if we even mention you know "hoot". (The "Give a hoot, don't pollute" owl.) Bribesy's tag line is better anyway, "Give a Hoot, or I'll Break Your Arm"...love Bribesy.

    Beautiful work, Ann! Today's question: is your clay just not sticky? How in the world do you keep it from sticking to everything (like the mat and the lid)?
    Oh and the simplistic 'wow' of your celedon bird is just stellar.

    • @LittleStreetPottery

      I let it stiffen up just a bit before using...seems to help!

    I love that you were using a knife to cut things out! Hahaha. I love your shirt too! The projects you did are great and I appreciate you showing how you keep the parts flat! I have had such a challenge with that and ended up making weight bags with kitty litter. Old socks filled with kitty litter in lots of sizes and weights works really well. I have been wanting to try some of the opalescence glazes and saw in the video that they are very reasonably priced!! I can NOT even imagine living near a store like that!!! I have always had to order online. The picture of that store made me soo excited! Lol. Thanks for all you do!!!

    • @annruel1982
      @annruel1982 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Michele. Jim converted me from cutting with the needle tool to the exacto knife. Thanks for the tip about the kitty litter. Great idea. I sometimes even use bags of rice although you have to make sure there are no holes in the bags. that opulence glaze was the first one I have tried, and I really like the looks of it. I need to do more experimenting with it. As always, thanks for watching Michele!

      @@annruel1982 That’s awesome he got you to use the knife. I think it will help you to get cleaner lines!! I don’t use rice or beans because I had a mouse get in our basement and that just freaked me out sooo badly that I was like NO FOOD of any kind anywhere but the kitchen. Lol.

      @@micheledickey4066 Use playground sand in your poufs -- the sand absorbs some water, like kitty litter, then dries out a bit. My poufs are made out of old t-shirts.

    Super cute designs and ideas! I use Standard 240 white clay. I'm afraid of what my results would be using the foam and pushing it down. I get frequent warping on my plates and spoon rests. 🙄 Yours turned out great!

    • @annruel1982
      @annruel1982 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kathy. Really any doily will do. You can find them in any party section of your store or probably where you find napkins. I just found these in one of my craft drawers. I think a while back i purchased them for another project perhaps from Michaels or Hobby Lobby.

    Hello, I personally did not like the glaze on the owl. I hope you don’t mind me giving you my honest opinion on that. The owl was adorable, I would have painted it a different color. All three spoon caddies were very cute, you’re painting on the first one is beautiful as ever. I hope I have an offended you by telling you that I did not like that color on the owl.
