Nice post. One way to get a Matt finish is to sand blast the pots. Sunshine Cobb uses this method. It gives her surfaces a nice soft feel.

@@tinkerandthink Check the tenmoku gloriously sparkling cups (that were made in China 800 years ago).They are National treasure of Japan.
