- Hope this helps as it seems to be a very common issue that the keyboard just stops working after you try to update it. Many people think you can’t fix it and start panicking but after some browsing and texting I discovered that fortunately you can.... comment if you have questions/comments

if you dont have a mic, go to windows settings using your mouse, click ease of access, find the keyboard option, turn on "on screen keyboard" and use that to type things in

@@spencermartin438 it didnt work for me at first what i did was closed and reopened the updater tool with my keyboard unplugged then after i reopened it i plugged it back in holding D and L but this time i waited like 10 seconds then the start button should show up

NOTICE PLEASE READ IF THE START BUTTON WONT WORK!!!!
If you happen to try to press D and L and the start button wont work (un-blur itself) here's a fixing process:
1. Make sure you dont still have the new software on your PC (the one that bricked your keyboard), just simply put it in recycling and permanently delete it
2. Delete and re-install the correct software (one in the video)
3. you will be ready for every step from 1:18 forward

yeah so i want to thank you so much. So every couple months my keyboard will malfunction and that was because i had the bricked download still on my pc but not on my keyboard. When i deleted all ducky software from my pc it worked again. I did not have to do the fix in the video. Ive been trying to fix my keyboard for atleast 4 hours now. I want to thank you so much

Bit of incorrect information but the tl;dw is to *always install the correct firmware for your specific model (PN).*
It is incorrect that 1.22 is newer and 1.09 is older. Both versions were both released together so neither is really newer than the other. They just have different numbers because they are for different revisions of the Mini.
1.22 is for the older DKON1861ST variant of the Mini whereas 1.09 is for the newer DKON2061ST (AKA V2) variant. The higher version number is just because the older model is, well, older and has therefore received more updates throughout its life cycle. NOT because it's a newer version. They are different versions for different revisions of the Mini and are NOT compatible with each other.
This fix only works if you have a Mini purchased in the last year or so (with the PN DKON2061ST) and installed the wrong firmware after making the same mistake of assuming higher number means newer version instead of reading the "ONLY FOR DKON1861ST" *warning* text right next to the version number.
Also, whilst it's typically possible to save a newer DKON2061ST by reinstalling the correct firmware like this, it's also very much possible to permanently brick your keyboard by installing the wrong version, especially if you have the older DKON1861ST.

Side note, here's what the PN means:
Let's take DKON1861ST for example:
- _DK_ is short for Ducky
- _ON_ for One.
- _18_ means it's the 2018 (year) revision
- _61_ means there are 61 total keys
- _ST_ means it's got RGB
DKON2061ST thus is the same 61-key Mini but a newer 2020 revision.

i was literally on the verge of smashing my ducky to peices, i randomly came back to my room with RGB bugged out and not fixing, i tried resetting and updating firwmare, it fucked it up completely even when i did it right, i followed this, and it fixed it, even fixed the bugged RGB, thanks

Dude, you are a lifesaver! I got so fucking paranoid because I messed with the switches at the bottom of the motherboard as well, but I eventually got it working regardless. The start button doesn't work if you still have the new version on your PC for some reason, so you have to reinstall it WITHOUT holding D and L for whatever reason. It's weird, but it works. Again, thank you so much.

also for the people that dont have a mic/keyboard, you can go into your history and open youtube. youtube has a build in vitrual keyboard and you can use that to copy/paste stuff

i found solution 1. go to local group policy 2. press administrative templates 3. press allow non administrators to install drivers for these device 4. when widow pop up mark disable and press ok. 5. open ducky installer by pressing left mouse button select run as administrator now u can press ok button and install driver congrats now u can install update. Worked for me.
