@@prismlasted It's literally the hardest mission in the game. They'll drain the hell outta you're ammo, even with the strat the best I ever got on it was an A rank cause I had to switch to back up weapons.

I like how they actually put this ending as the canonical one, leading to Verdict Day. When you think of Dark Souls 3, when you extinguish the fire, you don't actually have a grasp of what's to come after. But in Old King's route, you already did much damage to the world before the last fight/mission that you feel numb. XD
Technically, any of the endings can lead to Verdict Day. In this one, you slaughter everyone, so...I probably don't need to tell you why Verdict Day's universe looks the way it does. In the ORCA ending, it's entirely possible that the world saw that the path to space was open, but nobody could put aside their differences long enough to make any use of that option. After all, the entire plot of ACFA is the corporations fighting over a dead planet. It's also possible that casualties from the Cradles crashing to the ground resulted in too many losses to make planetary colonization efforts meaningless, or that people were so horrified from it they resolved to seek revenge on you instead of going to find a new homeworld. In the League ending, it's also implied that what Otsdarva/Thermidor came to pass, as the pollution and endless warfare eventually did consume the entire planet, leading to Verdict Day's state of the planet.

basically in this mission you become the final boss and not only that, here you also lose your humanity, you become something worse than a machine (Like CUBE but worse), a moster On the other side of the coin here you free yourself from Collared/The League and ORCA, basically you become free, but condemning yourself to die with no way out of the planet
I get what the oldies are saying about hard lock but after revisiting AC4 myself and watching this gameplay. I’d rather spend more time engaging the enemy than looking for him.
The greatest monster mankind has ever seen. That kind stuck with my for years. I ended up using the cheese tactic too. None of my setups had enough ammo for 3 of them.
@krisisgod666 the stage has walls. The npcs don't shoot through them by you can move to the opposite side, lock on once they move close and clip your arm weapons through the wall. This lets you shoot them without recieving damage yourself..
I completed this game without knowing what in the hell was going on, not the story, nor any combo weaponary. I remembered just banging my head against the wall in this game, retrying the missions until i complete them. Failed most mission countless of times. STILL NO IDEA WTF IS GOING ON.
Love this game. Nostalgic. Final mission is really designed for end-tier builds, with kojima rockets/weapons that can wipe 2-3 Nexts at a time if you get lucky. I like the 9-Ball one. You have to beat the Hard Mode Missions with S Rank to get some of the best kit. In most missions an extra Next attacks you, and typically that "red phantom"-esque character drops a end-tier weapon or piece of kit.
Literally. You are literally piloting a literal flying chernobyl that is faster than sound of speed. You are scary, and you enjoys it. (I would also enjoy it though)
Regarding the any mission at the Arteria Carpals map, you know the opponent will come into the map using that one long road. For example, on the mission Attack on Arteria Carpals, you can wait and charge your Kojima cannons at the end of the road and shoot to one-hit kill the arriving NEXT. Same on the 1 vs 5 mech mission, you can take out one quickly to make your life a bit easier.
I accidently did this route for my first playthrough and well I don't know how I won but it legit was so hard and traumatizing I never went back to the game again until recently
For it the Old King route being a evil ending it's honestly just Thanos levels of evil where it has it's good points. The Orca ending leads to ALL the cradles crashing to the planet which most likely killed more than 100 million people from the crash alone on top of the poisons from the pollution that's mentioned. Blowing up a handful of ships seems less harmful than taking every innocent life down.
With that being said doesn't the ORCA ending have the ships glide down since they are depowered? There are still the deaths from the pollution but I think most of the 100 million are safe because the cradles were not directly destroyed like the Old King route.
And just like the film Thanos's plan is just pointlessly evil, so is the Old King route. When you depower the cradles in the Orca ending, they make an emergency landing. All the suffering and deaths from there are due to the environment or others actions. But with Old King, you murder not only those 100 million people, but go on to utterly devastate the world until sheer attrition finally gets you killed. Going down as the worst monster in human history, and rightfully so, as after all, the cannons never fired in the Old King ending, now did they? So there ultimately is no justification, no excuse for what you did. When the would be heroes trying to stop you show up, one of them speculates that you aren't intelligent, just an animal. Who is to say they are wrong in that ending? Really brave decision to include that ending and translate it straight up, I have great respect for that decision.
Er...no. This ending is the WORST ending, for good reason. In the ORCA ending, the entire point was to shift the power of the Arteria facilities from the Cradles to the Ehrenberg Anti-Satellite guns, which in turn would clear the atmosphere of the automated Assault Cell satellites blocking the way to space, so humanity could leave to find a new planet, since Earth is basically fucked. The Cradles losing power and having to glide/crash into the Earth was viewed as a necessary casualty in order to ensure the survival of the human race. It's not impossible to say that there were some survivors, or that the Cradles would have emergency protocols in place to deal with such an event. In this ending...the only reason you destroy the Cradles is because you want to. You enjoy the fact you're slaughtering millions and millions of innocent people who have done nothing to you because you thought it'd be fun. There's no clearing the path to space to allow humanity to escape Earth. You go on to destroy every single Cradle (likely billions of people in total casualties) because you can.
The ORCA ending only cuts their engines, they were built to glide in case that ever happened. Additionally, the power that's no longer going to the Cradles is used to power an anti-satellite cannon to take down a bunch of killsats that the league put up to keep anyone from going to space. The League's ending keeps things as they were, minus Line Ark. ORCA's ending makes things worse but gives the potential for real change and actual improvement, something the League won't do. Old King's ending is flying off the rails at Mach Jesus, becoming the final boss, and making things massively worse for no reason.
For ACFA on PS3 all I did was make my Gundam as light as possible, give it as much energy as possible, and give myself two gatling auto-canons. It worked pretty well, but sometimes it didn't work.
That's for sure. Soon as mission starts rush over to the opposite side of the arena. Stand on wall till they spawn in and rush out with full primal armor and bomb rush then get in between all 4(5 hard mode) and hit them with a PA attack. They stay together until they get close to the Walls. I ended up using the primal armor strat and led each one outside and took them out just by staying out of their range and picking one by one off. Hard mode was stupid hard. Wall strat FTW
Congrats u beat for answer hardest mission/route which was the Old King route on normal now I’d recommend doing the orca route which was the mission to defend the satellite which this route actually has the most story integral which if u want go in blind don’t read below spoilers* Basically they were formed because Omer found out that the assault cells they launched during the lynx war which were satellites that were made to prevent other companies from launching their own space craft which then led them to realize that the cradles were closing near their firing range so when the cradles reach them 100s of millions will die so they devised a plan to get Ostdarva their rank 1 pilot to form Orca from irregular lynx and revolutionary’s (like you when helping line ark) under the name Maximilian Thermidor using his Rayleonard model as a cover however, the power needed to use the anti satellite canons was immense so there was only 1 place that could supply it the cranium which powers the cradles which means either they sacrificing the millions by transferring power to the canons to destroy the assault cells and start colonizing else where or letting 100s of millions die by doing nothing as such which ostdarva himself said “the blame lies with all of us”
funnily enough, i struggled more with the Attack on Arteria Cranium, Defeat Unknown NEXT + No Count, and Defeat Red Rum & Starka, for S rank hard mode. Arteria Cranium is especially bad, because of the small space its hard to dodge.
I always have question about the size of cradle because compare with next I don’t think the tiny platform were able to let 20 million people living inside!
NEXTs are about 20m tall, that would make the Arks about 10km wide as they are in game. At the density of an apartment block it is feasible they would house a few million, even at their in game size. 20 is too much probably.
Wish I could find a reasonably priced copy of this game. I know it's rare but having to cough up like $100+ for this game is not something i want to do.
Back when I got into this game my roommates and I all shared my 360 and they ended up falling down the rabbit hole as well. I was the only one who could win the 4v1. I got really good with the shoulder mounted grenade launcher, which does so much damage it can 1-hit most ACs. Basically I'd fly around as much as possible to stay alive, read when the AI was out of energy and needed to land, and send a grenade at them at just the right time to meet them as they approached the ground. Also made the 1v1 missions trivial. Nobody else could figure out the timing, so they weren't even able to win the mission with my build. Similarly the only person who could consistently beat me 1v1 used a super light flying build that never had to land.
Only way I can consistently clear hard carpals no cheese is with a cracked out blade build and kojima cannons. Bust the kojima on otz or roadie then drop them for weight efficiency.
the chese strats here are Kojima missiles machine guns or high power rifles, assault armor or the giga chad take the fastest reusable blade equip 2 go ham or downgrade to reg 1 get salines go ham with rifles or go for missile boat build
It's fun beating them with just the blade... You should try it sometime 😎 also you can (Second Stage) in regular missions if you wanna some extra speed

@prismlast the S rank in hard mode I had to cheese with a tetrapod double moonlight all booster build and changed the regulation to infinite boosting lol. This woulda been way easier though 😂
There's also another way to cheese the mission, which is to use that missile pack that white glint uses. But i forgot which regulation is that. There's a video in youtube that shows you how to do it. The whole ordeal would become easy mode even playing on hard difficulty.
Was my favorite mission, The only way I could S rank it was by moving faster than they could process while being a melee fighter and using a technique I leaned that worked with two moonlight blades where you could hit someone and register the hit multiple times effectively one shotting any AC.
I just resorted to using back-mounted Kojima cannons and machine-gun arms. the cannons knock out their primal armor, and the machine-guns finish them off decently fast

What makes that mission darkly funny is that you get paid one hundred million for it So essentially you got paid 1 dollar for every man, woman and baby you killed, it's a rip off if you ask me
I did this on hard with no damage and old king lived. Not even joking. Only once though. Used a hyper-light blade+ assault armor build, after no less than 30 restarts.
I think attack cranium on hard is way more difficult. Everyone says this one is because of the number but I don't agree. This one has plenty of room to work and lots of cover.

Been so long since I've done this. There was a bit of panic tuat it wouldn't be released in USA so i got the Japanese copy. No longer have it anynore unfortunately. Great game though. I'm fairly sure i used wall cheese on this level to beat it though.
When they go out about how your lynx feels he has the right to choose who lives and dies kind of got me like I mean the ones paying you do that shit all day everyday so how are you gonna come out like some self righteous being when their is innocent blood on your hands as well

This final mission sucks on hard mode. You have to fight 1v5. But seeing as you plan to do hard mode as well, I take it you at least mostly enjoyed the game?

Fasty with blades is really good, also I've done a full Kojima build too, but blades is my favorite

the chese strats here are Kojima missiles machine guns or high power rifles, assault armor or the giga chad take the fastest reusable blade equip 2 go ham
or downgrade to reg 1 get salines go ham with rifles or go for missile boat build
It's fun beating them with just the blade... You should try it sometime 😎 also you can (Second Stage) in regular missions if you wanna some extra speed

@prismlast the S rank in hard mode I had to cheese with a tetrapod double moonlight all booster build and changed the regulation to infinite boosting lol. This woulda been way easier though 😂
There's also another way to cheese the mission, which is to use that missile pack that white glint uses. But i forgot which regulation is that. There's a video in youtube that shows you how to do it. The whole ordeal would become easy mode even playing on hard difficulty.
Was my favorite mission, The only way I could S rank it was by moving faster than they could process while being a melee fighter and using a technique I leaned that worked with two moonlight blades where you could hit someone and register the hit multiple times effectively one shotting any AC.
I just resorted to using back-mounted Kojima cannons and machine-gun arms.
the cannons knock out their primal armor, and the machine-guns finish them off decently fast
i remember how rough this was to beat back in the day for myself! and then i went back and did it on hard! tried to get S ranks on all missions.

The hardest part of beating this on hard mode for me was ammo. I'd get all but the last mech then run out of ammo :(

I did this on hard with no damage and old king lived. Not even joking. Only once though. Used a hyper-light blade+ assault armor build, after no less than 30 restarts.
I think attack cranium on hard is way more difficult. Everyone says this one is because of the number but I don't agree. This one has plenty of room to work and lots of cover.

Been so long since I've done this. There was a bit of panic tuat it wouldn't be released in USA so i got the Japanese copy. No longer have it anynore unfortunately. Great game though. I'm fairly sure i used wall cheese on this level to beat it though.

Yeah I think the point of the old king route is that we can keep doing what you’re doing but unbound by the corporations this time. As soon as our lynx realized that (through us choosing this route) we cut off everything
