Good 🌄, Gil, how are you? The Islanders looked good while beating the Blue Jackets. They played 60 minutes. They not only gave up PP goal, but they scored a shorty, too. Bo, Barzy, and Anders Lee's showing some potency. They didn't score a goal in the 3rd period, but they played some solid defense. Maxim Tsyplakov's still on suspension. Hero, Barzy and Bo. 🐐, Casey Czisikus for taking a stupid penalty in the 3rd period. Luckily no damage was done. The one thing the Islanders don't need is another injury. Noah Dobson left the game with a lower body injury. I hope it's serious to the point where he'll end up on LTR. The Islanders are off until so they'll be well rested for the dreaded Flyers again. It's been one year since Lou Lamoriello canned Lane Lambert and hired Patrick Roy as the new head coach. Between the injuries to key players, the fact that they're cracking in the 3rd period, and the specialty teams, the players are happy with him. HAPPY 🎂, DOUG WEIGHT. A one time head coach. He scored a goal and an assist in a win over the 🌩. Hear from you later, Gil, no nostalgia until tomorrow. Now, LET'S GO ISLANDERS.
That's two solid games in a row. Top line looks good. Dobson's injury looked bad, the human knee isn't meant to bend that way. He didn't practice today but they have no timetable yet for his return. They do have a few days before Philly so we'll see. Thanks for the comment, Cindy. Looking forward to tomorrow's nostalgia. LGI.
Nice win last night, Nice to see the chemistry between Bo & Barzy. Nice to see Holmstrom get on the scoresheet as well! Hopefully Dobber will be back soon and its not too serious. Hopefully Patrick will give us an update soon, LGI
They did play well and it was great to see Bo, Barzy and Holmstrom do well. Dobson missed practice today but still no update. Thanks for the comment, Darrell. LGI
Never want to see anyone get hurt but he was useless on the team anyway, so I won't miss him. With that said I do hope he recovers fast that was a nasty injury.
Good morning team! Gil, I have to admit, it was a very enjoyable game to watch. Jackets are in the top 10 for goals scored, so we did well containing them. Sure, we gave up a PP goal, but we score a shorty, even strength, and PP goal of our own. If I could be critical during such a good game, I would have appreciated the empty net goal. Next time I see him, I'm going to get on Barzy about that. Hero of the game? Easy. Bo all the way! I'm hoping Dobber is okay. I cringed watching the play. I hope he isn't off the ice for any length of time. Man, I would love to beat the Flyers right now. Looking forward to this one. Everyone, have a great day! See you all again tomorrow. Until then.. Let's Go Islanders!!
Dobson wasn't at practice today. They still haven't announced a timetable for his return. It was painful to watch that replay. Big game Friday vs Philly. Thanks for the comment, Tony. LGI.
We don't know the extent of the injury yet. Dobson missed practice today but they didn't give an update on the injury and how long he'd miss. Thanks for the comment, MapleTreeatdawn. LGI
They play great a few games then play terrible some more which leads Lou to “believe” in this roster. They can win the next five it doesn’t change the fact that Lou needs to go.
I agree 100 percent on that, Danfromoverthere. The team isn't bad enough to get a lottery pick and not good enough to really contend for more than barely making the playoffs. Thanks for the comment and LGI
When a W is a L. Top 5 killing loss. And roy gets a 'C' one year on job. Blown leads, bad sp, teams continue. Isles not improved and have regressed, sub .500 team. A few 2-3 game w streaks in between 1-4 runs sprinkled with nhl high loser pts. And isles still lead nhl in times shut out so line juggling can't solve lack of scoring problems. Not roy's fault he's left with a sub par roster with a pop gun attack and bums like 18 louzer saddled him with. Probably better suited to coach a young roster.
Same old. Same old. Classic signs of a last place team that’s going nowhere. If and when they get rid of Lou, it will take a few years to get this team back to being really competitive.
It will take time, rhm5158, If they make some smart moves in the next six months, that timetable can be reduced. Lou needs to go if he won't make the necessary changes. Thanks for the comment and LGI
I know other teams have injuries but the Isles just seem snakebit. Ever since Pelech's injury in Jan 2020 it's been this way. Barzy every other year, Pelech and Puock annuals and now Dobber after losing 2 3rds of the first line for a quarter season and the whole left side of their D. Now Dobson. The worst was Lee in March of 2021, that may have cost them the cup.
The injuries have added up and have hurt the team. The lack of organizational depth has also been a problem. Thanks for the comment, anticensorshipsociety1063. LGI
Very good win. Yet nelson and palmieri, along with cizikas, pags, and dobson must be traded along with lee. We need young scorers and prospects asap! Really like holstrom. And finally Lou must go asap .
Just when they are playing better, Dobber gets hurt. Barzy playing great. Another example of how they play when they really want to, unfortunately the other teams have also underachieved like the Rangers and surprise years by Ottawa, Washington and the Pens. At least if they play like that, they won’t have empty seats. Losing dobber takes that offensive threat away. Think i know when he got hurt. He came in and took a high hit on a shot. It was weird, he wasn’t really skating hard
The timing isn't good, Alex. They really don't have anybody who can provide the kind of offense Dobson provides from the blue line. Thanks for the comment, Alex. LGI
Yeah, the human body was not meant to be in that position. Still waiting for an update. Dobson missed practice today, but they didn't fill us in on how long he may miss. Thanks for the comment and LGI

@LockedOnIslanders I can't wait, Gil. Hear from you tomorrow.

It was a tough replay to watch. Hope he's OK. The Isles need last year's Dobson back. Thanks for the comment, matthewcarbone2108. LGI

I don’t understand how he didn’t tear his ACL on that injury.

The subpar roster is definitely a major reason Roy hasn't had more success. He needs a younger and faster roster. Thanks for the comment, Steven. LGI

Can't argue with what you said, Mercy, although I don't expect most of it to actually happen if Lou stays. Thanks for the comment and LGI
