Negative displays are hard to read, even worse when so small. I like the GA-800-1A better (without eye) and positive display. However I got the cheap version of that just the other day: HDC-700-1A, which is actually very nice for $30.
You are partially right, the negative display on most casio watches sucks, BUT , on this model they did a great job improving visibility, It is one of the best negative displays casio produced.

I’ve just received my GA-835 today and must say I’m quite impressed. Not too sure about the buckle. I think a gold buckle to match the keeper would of been nice. But that’s only a minor niggle. Overall I think it’s a lovely watch.
I've had this watch for several months and still like it. However the matt finish is not robust and soon shows signs of wear. The nasty plastic buckle is fixed in place, it doesn't use a removable springbar so to replace it means breaking it. I did that and fitted a metal buckle from a 6900MS. The watch is very similar in size to a 6900 and also works well on the combi bracelet. The poor lume is easily made up for by the excellent backlight. Despite its flaws, I still like it.
Thanks for that info, I did have fears about the resin not looking like that after some wear. I wish casio made a permanent finish that looks like this one.
Dear Watch Geek, could you consider a review and tutorial on the Timex Ironman Classic 100 watch (same as worn by Mark Wahlburg), which is $50. Has 100 laps-splits, but multiple alarms, and 9 Interval Timers. Your comparison to Casio would be interesting, and I think the video would be well searched by Timex Ironman fans. Thank you for considering it.
The problem is the height of the watch. I mean the lug to lug distance is very big in comparison with the case diameter of the watch. I think ga 2000 fits much better on small wrists

Solarna atomska verzija, GWM-5610 ti je još manji od 5600.
Kraći je i tanji tako da još bolje izgleda na manjoj ruci.
