  • This time I took a look at the Arrows RC Marlin. So far a bag of mixed feelings. Good but not great.
I fly mine on 4s 2200mAh battery and Spektrum NX10.
    Vingspann: 900m
    Lenght: 995mm
    Weight: 1050 grams

That was a much more honest review than others I've seen. I've jut ordered one and your warning on high alpha much appreciated

Sorry you didn't like this plane. It is the only plane I have bought that resulted in several members of my flying club getting one themselves. It does tend to bounce horribly if you touch the nose wheel first, but you can get modified gear from rc castle which help a lot. With full flaps you can land very slowly without a stall, no high alpha though. Love your videos. Andy in uk.

Yes I know it is a popular plane but I certainly don't mix to well with Arrows RC planes. Bigfoot excluded because that is a fantastic plane even to me!

Andy Craig, I own a Marlin but haven’t flown it yet. The Marlin is my 1st EDF, unfortunately the instruction manual doesn’t hint about how much movement for the flap settings. I understand this can be an individual preference, but I would appreciate a starting point.
PS. I purchased the RC Castle upgraded landing gear. It seems to be very well made.

Lapeos you may want to try the Freewing 4s Vulcan. I've flown the 6s version...flies great. They also have that new 64mm Banshee. I think the quality of the Freewing's would impress you.

Thanks I will probably look at another plane from Freewing. I really liked the Pandora.

Really enjoyed your review.. I agree with the looks of the Marlin. Its looks cheap. Thanks for continuing to deliver great reviews...

It is cheap tho. Name another 64mm edf u can get that has RD, EL, AL and flaps. Plus you get 2 servos on the EL to make tailerons for more performance. Motor is way better than any freewing stuff. Has more thrust than it weighs, a generous lipo carrying capacity (2200 to 3200) and all for £160. Just re paint it like I did.

@@M4rkmcc21 Don't get me wrong.. I think its a well thought out plane and should be considered by anyone wanting a 4S EDF. Arrow has done a great job with their RC plane line-up..

My two favorite planes in my hangar are my Bigfoot and my Marlin. I usually don’t go out without at least one or the other. My Eflite F-15 barely gets any flight time anymore because it’s kind of boring to fly. I can’t do knife edges or hammerheads, etc, but I can with my Marlin. As for landing it, I’m still not the best, but I’ve found that keeping the throttle low and then giving it some juice right at the flare works best for me. It’s definitely not a good dead stick lander.

I fly mine with a 2840 size brushless motor at 2280kv , using a 1800max 6s lipo. Along with a 60a Hobby Wing esc. It has unlimited vertical thrust, and will quickly reach 1,000 feet.

You mentioned you installed the AR631 receiver. Did you just use the Habu SPM file?

No I set it up from scratch so did all the forward programming.

I used the eflite viper file since it features flaps . Works pretty well too
