I think KB won the last debate about who is most influential due to the point of Steph completely changing and revolutionizing how basketball is played. There has never been a single player who changed how the entire style of the game is played, and steph did that with his 3pt shooting. Like KB said, Steph is the reason why every team shoots so many threes now and why the midrange has become a lost art. Steph is also the reason why every position is expected to be able to stretch the floor now. Jordan was of course extremely dominant in his era, but he was dominant within the style of basketball that was already established. He didn't change how the game was played, he just exceled within how it had already been played. Also in terms of just the casual basketball player, everyone wants to shoot deep threes now because of steph. The first thing kids do when they go on the court is run straight to the 3pt line, and that's due to steph's influence. I agree with P that Jordan has been more influential in terms of shoes and apparel, but that's also not entirely a fair argument because Jordan Brand has been around 35 years, so it has had much more time to build up traction.
Disagree, tbh I don’t really care about shoes and that was a lot of Ps argument. Maybe P debated better but KBs points are way stronger. The 3 pointers changed the whole dynamics of a basketball game
@@whitemamba2418 Yea you gotta be young, jordan influenced with way more then just his shoes. Most of the top dunkers in the league have jordan influence. His fadeaway has been taken and repurposed by multiple players to fit their game (including kobe and lebron.
His mentality inspired Kobe’s Mamba mentality, which almost every NBA player today claims they have.
Sure kids shoot more threes today because of watching steph, no doubt theres influence there, but when measured up against everything Jordan influenced its not even really a debate

Disappointed in the tanking debate. Tanking is bad for the league because….
1. It destroys good culture (the goal should always be to compete and win)
2. You don’t need a top pick to get better (there are tons of superstars and studs that were drafted outside of the top 5 or so picks)
3. There is no guarantee you’ll hit on your top pick (Wiseman)
4. You can draft all the young talent you want and still look like the Orlando Magic.
love this, the nba is the highest level of basketball in the world. no point in suiting up if im an nba player if the objective is to lose. it makes for great content if the debates are came up on the spot, but i believe it would be better discussion if they had a little more time to think about it before they debate.
