I wasn’t a fan of the in-season tournament when I first heard of it, but the more I think of it the more I like it. It gives more meaning to the first half of the season, gives more players experience playing in win or go home scenarios, could help start more rivalries as teams who usually don’t play each other in high stakes environments will get to, also adds a new way to grow your resume as a player. Maybe a player like Dame would be able to win one in Portland and get the chance to win something for the team that he cares so much for. In soccer the best players never miss in season tournament games because they want to bring a trophy back to their club and fans and aren’t motivated by the money. Would love to see a similar mindset in the NBA when it comes to the in season tournament.

I usually agree with Kenny but I think this season has more important regular season games than most. The West has like 3 close late night games every night that matter and most teams are playing for something. Nothing matters at this point most seasons.

I think the NBA should have players earn load management days. Every 5 games you play let’s say you earn a game of load management, almost like a regular job.
To make the all star game, dunk contest, and 3pt contest more interesting what if they gave the winners 2 load managements days.
They can use rest days to incentivize their all star break and tournament.

Mid season cup probably won't work for the NBA, because it gonna be just the same team again. In Soccer the mid season cup like UCL works because the team that participate is different. Like their normal league is for the best team in the country while the cup is for the best team in the continent so team want to proof themselves against different team.
