That was a really good idea to minimize the run of the vent. I noticed you still used the flex vent- you should consider using rigid duct and 2 elbows to make the run straighter than the curve you currently have.

Yes, that would be a further improvement for sure, thanks!

    detailed video, nicely done.
I'm in a townhome with a dryer vent with no cap and loose opening (water damage? idk.). literally maybe 15in between the dryer vent and the neighbor's ac unit and 20in from my AC unit (which i only became concerned about when I looked up vent cleaning.. ugh)
didnt notice until I had a pest issue and someone suggested to check the dryer vent.
anyway, thank you for this video. going to look into some options for moving it since now i know it's possible and hopefully "doable" with the limited space between townhomes.
if you couldnt do the job yourself, would you have called an electrician, vent/chimney cleaner, plumber, foundation spc?

If we didn't want to move the dryer itself I think any competent handyman service could redo the vent. Because we were relocating the dryer itself an electrician could install the new outlet. You might be able to find a general contractor who does small home projects to handle the entire process, they would hire each trade and deal with permitting as needed. Glad you enjoyed the video!

How did you decide how high to drill the exhaust hole?

Honestly that is the same height as the old hole from the floor so I already had all the right ducting to get there. I wanted it to be low enough not to be seen from in front of the dryer, but not so low on the outside to he blocked by snow if it drifts and piles up.

Could you have put the hole lower to the exact height of the dryer vent itself so you go straight out?
I'm about to reroute mine and am considering this thought.
