I downloaded this weight tracking app and it kept saying I was fat even though my bmi is 24. This makes sense now because it was a Japanese app.

In my early 20s, I reached my Cinderella weight. Tbh, I loved how I look that time but puking and fainting isn't worth it. I admit I was and still is insecure about my self-image. Now in my late 20s, I'm of a normal body weight (non-Japanese standard)...and way healthier.

My Japanese friend said he wants me to maintain a 54.4kg weight. I’m 158.5cm tall. He said below 54.4kg is too small. This ratio isn’t average. I’m confused about his preferences. He goes to gym 6x a week though! 😂
Good topic Santi! 👍 Can you discuss the process how Japanese people achieve their ideal body type? What’s the diet and physical activity requirement? What are the opinion of Japanese people on fat burner drugs, diet pills and steroids? Is artificial body sculpting like RF, liposuction and other similar practices frowned upon in Japan?
    Thanks! 🙏

Typical Japanese body type is very good (lean) but the body needs some fat reserve otherwise your damaging the body itself when it fall short specially if your physically active, I think Japanese should put on just a bit of fat under the skin, good for the cold as well, healthy body doesn't really look fatless like many people think. It's actually dangerous to have no fat. 😎👌.

I didn't know about the ratio part you mentioned at the end but it makes so much sense to me now. I'll much bigger than Japanese girls but I am surprisingly told that they think I still have a nice figure. But I have an hour glass figure no matter what my weight is. I didn't think that mattered because my image was that both men and women in Japan prefer skinny

I have an hourglass figure too, so I was worried a bit that I will be told I'm fat a lot, despite my bmi being 23 and in the normal range when I visit Japan ( I'm staying for a while there once the pandemic is over ). So knowing it's not just my weight but the proportions that matter there too puts me at ease. Thank you :-)

I just checked....the MBI index calculator for asians is anything over 23 is overweight.......and the MBI for the height and weight of the average japanese lady you posted on your whiteboard is 21.....so that falls into the normal weight range...or so it says......bmicalc.org/japanese-bmi-calculator

For every person’s height, there is a proper bmi allotted. You can’t be underweight or overweight because it’s unhealthy.
Being too thin makes someone too conscious of how to enjoy food. They can also develop eating disorder. I think as long as your height is in the proper weight range, it’s ok. For me, I am 178cm=132-167lbs (is the proper weight range) so going below 132 under weight or weighing more than 167 is overweight. I am 141lbs.
The lady you showed is chubby in our country if she was heavier, she will be called fat. Sexy is being too thin like model or having hour glass shape without flabs.

      Ok. I’ll say something..
      1) for Americans lbs = multiply kg x2, then at 10%
      2) It is the same unhealthy mentality everywhere, everywhere women go to extreme lengths to meet unrealistic standards
      3) Japanese are fortunately/unfortunately genetically engineered to actually meet these standards
      4) I like thin Japanese girls - which is like 80% of their population. It is about 5% in the western world.

Hey santi-san, I just came across your video yesterday and it all really caught my attention. I would like to ask some advice about this situation "I have a crush on a Japanese man, I'm really like him a lot. I'm an Asian girl so I intend to go to Japan and attract the man's attention even though it is difficult because he is a voice actor and he has a lot of fans. " In santi-san's opinion, what do Japanese people think if a foreign girl has feelings for them? And is it okay if I want to present homemade items to him, not homemade food? And how about Japanese people think about Islam religions?

Hi Alyn! Santi made a video about the gift culture in Japan. You might want to check those out. ☺️
Also, I want to comment about having a crush on a celebrity type of person. It is challenging in my personal opinion. Majority of the time, it leads to heartache and disappointment. So.. before putting so much effort into going to Japan and proposing to the guy, I hope you consider the things below:
-you know each other personally (not fan relationship) 👌
-constantly in personal contact with each other (at least on a daily basis) 👍
-the guy shows personal interest with your wellbeing, daily life, family and friends, plans, etc. 😊
-and some other obvious signs that he is attracted to you 🤗
I like your courage that you want to propose/confess to him. I personally can’t do it and I always choose not to do it. 😂 I prefer a guy to confess to me than the other way around.✌️

@@stephaniecu4697 oh hi too Stephanie! Em I'm already check out that video but it only said about homemade food, so I wonder what if homemade items? Do japanese love it or feel appreciated or feel annoying ? Because in my country if we got something homemade, it was so incredible feeling like happiness. And also of course it was so challenging for having crush on a celebrity. But its hard to getting their attention through the media social plus we are in different country and you know too many fans hahaha. And thank you very much for your considered. And of course I'm not just flying to Japan and suddenly met him and asking for marry. First I would like to get his attention first and then make a move like asking for a date, and know more about him, if he react positively well I guess I would propose him asap.
