Me too but honestly it doesn’t matter because some of us probably have just as much fun taking our time and progressing and getting better as we go with however long it takes. I personally have never tried speedrunning and probably never will. I find it a good challenge just to beat the gold loops troopa on some of them (some) and that’s enough for me lol. I’m still 500+ moons in and have had a great time with the game🙌🏻 These runs are insanely impressive to me honestly
I speedrun this game, and although roll cancelling isn’t necessarily easy, I will attest that roll cancelling over the ledge is for sure not the hardest part of the moon KFR
For the ones where didn’t use the actual videos for the video, why not at least mention what the time is? Cap, Cascade, and Moon all have the wrong runs shown. Also on the wr sheet, if you click the times, it will take you the video

It's updated whenever a new world record is achieved so it's a really good source if you want to know what the world record is or watch the world record for a certain race. If you join this discord server (discord.gg/5A5rkJb) and go to #minigames people familiar with koopa freerunning and other minigames can help you with whatever you need as long as its related to minigames.
I just spent an hour on this just trying to beat the basic race to get the damn moon, then this guy smashes it in less than 10 seconds? I can't see how Mario can do the things that player makes him do.
Btw, *don't* shake your controller in the Sand kingdom on the spark pylons. It doesn't actually give you any extra speed, and it makes you pick up the coins, losing you time. The people in the video aren't shaking the controller either, Copycat just made a mistake.

Can't really imagine how it's possible for Mario to even have that much speed to cover that much distance, but I doubt the leaderboards would lie. @@markymark443 the sub 6’s in mushroom are hackers. Actually for all leaderboards, at least the top 5-10 are hackers and their times arent possible in the actual game. Theres an official leaderboard by the SMO community with the actual WR’s, i believe the mushroom one is like 11.8x

Odyssey is so good but so unfortunate. Gimmick shakes required for speedruns are essentially impossible on a Lite (Can you fuck off with the gimmick movement options Nintendo) as well as too many glitches and not enough care to update the in game speedruns and remove the false ones means a massively fun end game community concept everyone can get in on still ends up being super niche.
