- Hey guys and welcome to todays video where Im going to show you the Best Glitches in Every Mario Game. This video was really hard to make but I think it turned out really great! Im trying my hardest to use only original clips but I didnt have to borrow a few which Ill leave a link to in the description right here!

My personally has to be SMG2's dying in the credits: Falling off the crescent moon edition. Game totally freaks out trying to place you back on the moon long after that scene passes, funniest moment I've seen

Misakii_ Chan but you cant beat the level if that happens because the goal checks to see if mario is with yoshi and if you eat him that value is overwritten and so the game thinks you lost mario and doesn’t trigger the end of the level
12:32 I pulled that one off when I was a kid by accident. It was super funny to keep it until facing a boss in the castle if it was giving me trouble.

The 1 up exploit is something that was purposely put in all the games, even the first one. It was meant to be an award for the most skilled players. It was an idea from one of the developers of the game.
What about in super paper mario where it starts taking points away from you at a certain time.
@@kek-senpai243 it was built in to increase difficulty, and also a cruel trick by Nintendo whilst acknowledging its a unwritten thing in all their Mario games

The infinite life tactic with a koopa shell isn’t a glitch and been recognized as an official tactic by Nintendo.
they mention it as an "exploit",which is abusing a games mechanic to the players advantage
IsmaelKitten20 Videos it isn’t even ‘abusing game mechanics’ as in NSMBW there’s hint movies that literally show infinite live tricks. It’s more of a trick than exploit/glitch
Technically, you could call the part where the value loops over into the negative a glitch, but it is borderline at best.
Personally, I believe that it was unintended at first, but after Nintendo learned about it they just went along with it and included similar tricks in the later games.

My sisters and I spent years thinking the Pinta Park glitch was the ONLY way into the cannon. For 4-7 year olds, that makes entering much slower and more difficult. It also stalled us in Noki Bay for a full decade because we didn't know to throw the windup bombs at him.

@@Bolt505 in terms of glitches (aka exactly what this video is about) the game is entirely different. In fact, if I woud make my top 5 glitches in SM64DS, it would be:
1.Heaven portals
2. Star cancels
3. Water Storage
4. Block clips and pause clips
5. Animation reset glitches
None of those are in the original.
(Also I don't feel like arguing over which version is better, as one's opinion on the subject is, well, subjective.)

It’s hilarious how you don’t have a 3DS capture card so you just record it from your phone. Also the Cheep Cheep glitch in SMO is very easy, and it’s one of my favorites as well
Seriously? Recording from your phone a 3ds because you don't have a capture card in 2020? Who ever does that! Everyone can freely use emulators and record in 4k!

@@liamsgreatbitgaming on my old laptop Mario 3d land and new Mario 2 still worked at the native resolution and I'm sure youtubers do have a good pc at least for rendering videos

19:43 That's straight up a Mario 64 BLJ there if it does make you fly away really fast. Also, with the Yoshi Slide glitch in Galaxy 2, if you run into the cloud flower after doing it, you can continue to perform the glitch as only Mario.

I'm going to safely say that the "original music" glitch in SMB2 was originally an Easter egg in Doki Doki Panic that was never patched out. I have no sources, it's just a theory.

3:39 there is no need to do anything but jump to the top of the level. You are making it sound hard and complicated. Also it's possible in the original NES because you just need to jump. The fast climb is only used to save time.
Also "best glitches in every mario game" and you didn't talk about BLJ in SM64.

My favorite part about the shell glitch is I remember as a kid my older brother would do it for my sister. If I remember it correctly, if you do it too much you’ll actually get a game over after you die once lol. Anyway I love your videos! Do you have a Twitter account?
Life counter probably integer overflowed so you had negative lives left
Yeah if you got more than 128 lives it overflowed to negative lives resulting in a game over

I found the unlimited 1up in Mario 1 way back when. I also discovered being small with firepower by accident, and when Gamewinners was a thing I submitted it. I also discovered flying around while dead in Mario64, and asking around in GameFaqs led me to believe nobody else had come across it.
A good glitch for smb1 that you could’ve completed is the bullet bill glitch in 8-2. Only took about five minutes and it’s really cool
I used to do that level skip jump in Super Mario Land on 1-3 as a kid all the time lol. Got so good at it I could do it every time without fail
5:00 you can end credit glitch on other levels as well. one includes Yoshi swallowing a qaurter back. while spitting a duck or something after setting up a bunch of shizz including the block fragmentlets placing. it's nutty. There's an incredible description of this on a few chans here I'll link some quick but warning many of these are are in depth regarding assembler language type stuff. regarding this the pokeman glitch enemy along the shore.
the consistent setup for pipe clip requires beating the level without slowing down at all and then do 2 frame perfect jumps and the for the second one you have to tap a for 1 frame
I like the glitch in Odessey where you can take the letters in Metro Kingdom over to the jump rope to beat it while just standing there!
The glitch I remember from Sbm1 on the NES is the trampoline springboard glitch. I hardly ever hear about it anymore because it doesn't help anyone out. And I'm not sure how it happens.. but you just get stuck on the springboard until time runs out.
Exploits really aren't glitches. the fact that infinite lives keeps showing up in games should tell you that. If they really didn't want it to happen, they'd have reworked the points system.
Well, actually you can press left+right or up+down on an original NES or SNES if you have sufficiently worn down the d-pad's central pole (the same pole that keeps you from doing such things as left+right and also keeps the d-pad in place) with normal use of the d-pad over the years.

Some things I noticed about the infinite lives trick in SMW with the wigglers made me think that it was a remnant of a feature that was either originally planned but later scrapped or planned but never finished for the game's release. First is that even though the symbols you see after the 3up are glitched, they're notably different every time, meaning that some algorithm is trying to write how many points/coins/whatever it's giving you, but can't because there's no tile data for the text. Also, this is (as far as I'm aware) the only time you ever see the symbol for 2up (even though 1up and 3up exist elsewhere) which _is_ drawn out in the tile data. Finally, the 5up symbol you see after 3up looks like a garbled mess but it does appear to have a defined palette, which makes me think that the 5up was the intended end/max of the sequence. I also think (I might be wrong about this) that after 255 jumps it will loop back to the start of the sequence, which isn't really relevant to the above but it's funny to see.

Super Mario Galaxy has a no music glitch in Good Egg Galaxys 3rd mission. There is a launch star and a pipe close together. If you enter the pipe and immediately shake the wii remote, the launch star will pull Mario out of the pipe causing the music to turn into silence.
my favourite glitch of all time was when i got zombie yoshi in smw snes in a level called treasure trive. by accident. i filmed it on my ipod nano around 15 years ago, still have the nano and also put the video onto my ps3 lol. my friend said i should make it into an nft
The Arbitrary Code Execution in SMW can actually be used to write any amount of code to the games memory. It is possible to make code that lets you further write code to memory with the controller inputs. The original SMB has been implemented in it's entirety using this. It is of course TAS only, though with a TAS robot, it has been done on real hardware. The original SMB was on a 32K cartridge, and the SNES has 128K RAM, which is why it is possible.

Just for the sake of completion - there are several spots where you could do the infinite lifes thing in SMB 3. My 2 favorites were in world 1 (iirc even level 1.1) on that high up pipe that spit out infinite koopas - just jump on them untill you got some 1 ups, then intentionally lose the level and repeat untill you have as many lifes as you want and the pyramid level in world 2 that one had a ton of coins and 100 coins give a 1 up, just make sure you die before you reach the end of the level and you'll get more 1 ups than you'll lose lifes meaning you'll eventually be at max lifes (and a lot of points)

My favorite Mario Sunshine glitch is being able to walk underwater with Yoshi on the main island, skipping the annoying slow boat rides over to the small island with the pipe with yellow goo.
As I know, one of the Mario games have a hidden basic coloring game. The developers also have left a message there. I saw this in as I remember an AGDQ video, but I'm not 100% sure.

I love Summoning Salt. I just hate that he has to start out EVERY video with that one very specific melody that puts me to sleep EVERY time.
So I either have to skip every intro or I have to replay the video every time. Very exhausting....

I found a glitch in smb2, I got the potion and put it at the area with the rocket in world 4 I think, then got the rocket in the subspace area, and I got a radish, and that got me A LOT OF COINS so many, it had to use letters to represent it. XD
Another Super Marion bros DS is if you destroy the block a vine is meant to stop at it just keeps going up and up until it goes out of the play area.
18:54 if you’re playing multiplayer, it’s way more easy to get infinite lives, just have 2 or more players and put the pink (or other color ones) in the hole, and then one player at a time jump in the hole, and don’t press a single button while in the hole, and easy as that, you get infinite lives for all of the players!

@@Quintratix some tricks are very complex and take a long time to explain, take a look at youtuber "summoning salt," he spends hours of research so he can go in-depth of how some speedrun tricks work.
In New Super Luigi U there’s an infinite lives glitch in one of the towers (I think the first one but I’m not sure). There’s a section with three or four dry bones so you can use the acorn to keep jumping on them infinitely because you’ll stay in the air long enough for them to keep getting up. Jumping on them like that will rack up points and eventually 1-ups. This is just based on memory btw so I may have gotten some of it wrong.
I thought that was the only way to get into the beach cannon. LOL!

In Super Mario Land 2 it's actually an unused debug flag that's checked in-game, not corrupting the game's memory. The developers were probably intending to test the credits sequence.

My mom discovered the infinite lives trick back when it came out before the internet. She was the only person in the neighborhood who knew how to do it.

How fitting that the glitchs is for the speedplayers?
I hold the stance that infinite lives and most slope climbing tactics are not glitches, infinite lives is just an exploit of intended mechanics, and slope climbing is usually due to bad math by the developers in regards to the height and backwards distance that can be gained from your forward sliding moveset vs sliding velocity.
I think that while the infinite lives was originally a glitch, the devs probably put it back in intentionally every sequel as a reference to the original, kinda like nuclear Ghandi in Civilization.
The first adjective in this video to describe glitches is "Hilarious" and the first clip of the video to describe glitches is an out of bounds glitch in Odyssey's Balloon world

Yea its weird how nintendo didnt try anything not even making trigger boxes outside of the map that can tell the game the balloon your placing is out of bounds and tells you to replace it

the nut jump is easily the best glitch in super mario odyssey. Broodont, Pokino, and Crcs are also really cool.

The infinite lives trick isn’t a glitch or an exploit, Shigeru Miyamoto has said he specifically wanted to make it so that it was possible.
