    Hello there... I have 2006 mustang v6 4.0 coupe, I just changed both cables, but it is not working very well because at the moment I pull up the lever I feel like I am squeezing something made of rubber, even though the cables pull the calipers, the grip is not strong enough. If I park in a hill, I will need to let gear 1 in to hold the car. Appreciate your comments.

      These always seem to not work great haha. But have you used the adjuster that you can get to at from
      Inside the center console behind the door. There’s a 10 millimeter nut that you can use to tighten it up. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

    Great video! I just done this myself but mine didn’t have that black bar?

      That’s great you got it fixed. The black bar is supports for the convertible top. So, it’s more common for them not to be there. Also, makes doing it that much easier. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

    nice, my parking brake cables almost completely worn thru at the point where the cable goes thru the traction arm. gonna need to do this soon.
    Also my parking brake is only engaging on one wheel? On the wheel I can see the cable actually pulls on the caliper arm but parking brake doesn't seem to engage? Do you know if there is a ratcheting mechanism inside the caliper for the parking brake? is there a way to adjust it?

      So, if it’s only engaging on one wheel, that tells me the other side has broken somewhere inside the tubing. It’s unfortunately common with these cars. That’s why you might as well replace both while your doing it. The only adjustment is inside your center console. It has a small door that will let you get to the 10mm nut that will tighten up the cables (you can see on my other video installing the parking brake handle.). You want to find that good spot where it engages like it should but isn’t engaging while down. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

      @@JunkyardJunkie thanks for the advice! I'll check the cable again. It is very worn but I thought I saw it move (but not engage) when parking brake is pulled 🤔 and both my caliper do work when I apply regular brake that's why I was confused...

    looks like you replaced the front brake cable,did u have to buy the whole brake arm assembly,or can you just replace that front cable,i cant seem to find one

    • @JunkyardJunkie
      @JunkyardJunkie  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ya you have to buy the whole assembly with it. Here’s the video where I show you how to do it: how to replace emergency brake (parking brake) handle in a 2005-2014 mustang (S197)
