    Welcome to Nashville!!! I have loved visiting the Parthenon since I was a child. We would often visit Centennial Park and I would look up in wonder at all the figures on the outside just imagining what it would be like to see the original. Thanks for sharing my!!

    The Parthenon has always fascinated me. I would have loved to have seen when they brought the statue of Athena in and set her up. We are very proud to have the Parthenon here in Nashville. They took out the world war two era steam locomotive to restore it. That was a sight seeing it being hauled through town. Nashville is so full of history.

    This building is amazing! We never realized that there was any place like the Parthenon in the U.S.!

      There’s “Washington Monuments” all over the world. There are buildings that have exact architecture in every corner of the globe… this was all built by one civilization.

    Great video Chris! what an interesting building, I have been by it many times but never inside. They had some beautiful artwork there for sure and the statue of Athena is so cool. Thanks for sharing!

    My childhood friends wife is the head of IT for the company that built this. She gave me a book that commentated their 100th anniversary.
    When we got married we went and stayed with them and they brought us by there. But the inside was closed so we just walked around it. It’s HUGE. Nothing gets you ready for the size and beauty of it.
    Would have loved to have seen Athena and the gift shop!!!!
    Great video!

    I'm confused, I thought I was the Goddess of Wisdom?! Lol. I went to the Parthenon on my first trip to Nashville but couldn't go inside. Thank you so much for showing us. Cheers

    This is a place more people should check out, if just for the architecture!

    Went there in December. Really enjoyed the trip. Visited the Parthenon, Ryman Auditorium, and Music Row before the bombing took place. Nashville is a great city.

    How did they build this with horse and buggy?

    • @mudman6156
      @mudman6156 ปีที่แล้ว

      Certainly easier than what they had to build the original. And that was built entirely from marble. It’s terrific though, that this building exists at all.

  • @AgnosiaAgnosis
    @AgnosiaAgnosis ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You really believe that they made that in 1897? They couldn’t do that today, let alone with tech from 1800s 😂

    • @hertz_me
      @hertz_me 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      its not a replica either

  • @mudman6156
    @mudman6156 ปีที่แล้ว

    It’s a beautiful building, BUT…ITS NOT ANYTHING LIKE THE ORIGINAL. That’s because the original would’ve been gleaming white as it was made from marble. This building isn’t. The building’s shape may be the same, but the materials used in it’s construction are not the same. The original structure would’ve been far prettier than this reconstruction.
