What an utterly repulsive family. You can indeed judge your fellow man on how he treats animals.
This family, a stupid family, injured and killed over a hundred horses, owed 400,000 dollars, and still, STILL, did not care what so ever what they had done. Grays stupid son, thinking he is such a smart ass, yelling at the cameras. How ignorant can people really become?! Thank you, World Horse Welfare! For doing what you are doing! Caring And loving horses you barely know, it is heart warming, truly! thank you!

He probably glad they're all gone. they don't have to smell the corpse in those hot summer days. The Judge should make that whole family clean, water, groom and exercise them and clean the stalls court order! 8 hours day and on weekends and have one of the WHW WATCHING THEM. just sitting their and watching them. sometime I wonder how judges can stand their selves. why make the WHW do it. "this is what you did NOW YOU CAN CLEAN IT UP".
It just proves again that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree! Those "kids" of the "owner" are just as rude and indecent as their dad!
Such enormous scale? How is this even possible that the entire family has absolutely NO REMORSE ? What monsters are these! I am so glad and thankful for organisations like World Horse Welfare, and that they are finally empowered to do anything by law. There should be jail included.

This is absolutely unacceptable behaviour. All I can say is shame on you. If people continue to breed horses like rabbits,there will be multiple more cases like this. When I hear about these cases I always wonder what happened that these people ended up with so many animals! The number of horses in this case is literally mind blowing.

it’s obviously horrific to have to euthanize and horses because of their poor condition as well as removing already dead ones, but the amount of horses that they left to suffer is astounding. It’s truly one of the most inhumane things I’ve ever seen

This is horrible! I can't believe how people can be so evil and cruel towards animals. I'm sure they don't treat people any better either. More stiff penalties need to be put in. We need to do much more. These horses are beautiful animals, and they don't deserve to be treated this way. They deserve love, treats, rides, good food and water, and confidence restored. I wish I had the time to help with this. I would be in Heaven helping horses!
I know it's been awhile, looking at the dates, but these people are real trash. How do you miss dead emaciated horses right outside your own living space? This is a horrific story. These are the type of people that make the phrase "Hell on Earth" happen. How they live, if they want to live in an untidy, muddy, unclean, disease ridden place is one thing for them, just don't bring any of us into that mess, 2 legged or 4 legged. They must be mentally unfit and disease ridden themselves. Hope Karma catches up with them, and the law confiscates everything that they possess, to pay for their sick choices they've made.
Despicable behavior on behalf of the Grays part, but a shinning example of how decent and kind humans can be. Thank you to the hard working and caring people who did their BEST by these horses.

32! Thirty freaking two! That is 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24,25,26,27,28,29,30,31,32(!!!!!!) horses that are dead on the property already. Add to this the three horses that had to be put down on site. So the family is hopeless (to put it mildly) of spotting the wrongness of the situation these horses are in, but what about friends, neighbours or people passing by? Nobody knew about this (sooner) and acted accordingly? That being said. I deeply respect organisations like WHW for doing what they do. Bless you!

Horses are extremely expensive and time consuming to care for . Unless you have the money and time to maintain and care for them properly do not take on that responsibility.

He was found and arrested and went to jail. Not sure how long for though - prior to going on the run he only got served a 26 week jail term. His scumbag son, who appears to be equally culpable, was not even jailed and was merely banned from owning horses for ten years. Despite the horrific animal cruelty and costs of £1.4 million to the RSPCA these cruel and remorseless sh*ts got off with one of them serving a tiny jail term and paying £400,000. Such love for World Horse Welfare and the RSPC from bringing what justice could be brought but shame on the British justice system for such a woefully inadequate response to such evil deeds.
Is that Thurrock that explains where all those horses went to. We thought they were in the horse meet scandal because they disappeared around the same time. Glad to see there was a good ending to this story.

I don't know this man, but in any case he should be punished for what he did to these innocent anmials - e.g. horses what else has he done ?
Just like generational family abuse, you have generational animal abuse. Combine poor education and role modeling, lack of empathy (perhaps a sociopathic personality), low self esteem and anger with a heaping tablespoon of rationalization. Add animals and stir. In some cases, like breaking horses, stupidity, ignorance and arrogance enter the mix.
What is wrong with people that they will do this to animals? What is wrong with These people?
I almost hope that Gray's son genuinely knows where that person lives, perhaps that person will end up teaching the younger Gray a lesson. I would have hoped that the Aylesbury Crown Court would sentence Gray himself with more than a 10 years to life ban and a short stint in jail, what he did was incorrigible and his lack of empathy and flagrant disregard for law and common decency show that.
The general behaviour and attitude of these people, it’s disgusting.
I can only imagine what story they have concocted to “justify” that situation. Making themselves out to be the victims in this and not giving a moments thought to those poor poor animals.
I really hope that people continue to make sure that these people, this family never ever have another horse or any other animal for that matter, in their care.

hoarding of animals is a mental illness, just as hoarding of a house, only worser to the extent of loss of life and death and destruction of lives.the mental state of mind is broken down into a rubble. with overwhelming consequences. I am truly sorry for the anguish of the victims. both suffer,the people involved and the animals are usually left for death. Help comes too late in many cases. but we as a people have to continue on in this never ending battle. God's speed and prayers to you.
I have a Siamese cat but no horse. Still, anyone who would do this to a higher animal is inhuman.
