    I really felt sorry for the young woman that bought Tella. She got had and is now out of the hard earned money she paid but; the worst part is, her dream of owning a horse was shattered. I'm very happy though that she did what was best for Tella and her unborn baby. You simply can not put a price on life. Thank you, for helping them all.

      Maybe the want of a horse was to make it possible to save the horse. Maybe she doesn’t have that wish any longer, maybe it’s been satisfied. They should have a part 2

    My mare was 2 months pregnant when i got her, but the owner was honest. She is a registered Morgan, bred to a registered Morgan sire. She had her foal 9 months later. We were ready, and she had a beautiful filly, who is now 11 years old and a joy to behold! The mare was 13 when she was born. And is living a happy retired life here.

    My late father, a saddler and horse whisperer, always said never buy a horse unseen then did just that with a pony bound for the knackery! She was a great companion for many years, but I did have a laugh at one time when she pig rooted and bucked my elderly Dad off.His patience was commendable. RIP Dad and Penny.

    Had something similar happen when I bought a mare from a local auction, despite interrogating the (dodgy) seller. Found out later through a third party that the mare had been running with his Welsh cob stallion and ten months later, I had a bouncing filly foal. Twenty-four years later, I still have her, although her mum sadly passed away two years ago. In my case, it worked out very well, and both my girls were worth the inconvenience, but I was lucky in that I had the facilities and experience to deal with it all. I'm glad Tella got the care she and her foal needed.

    I’m so happy to see that Tella was bought by a young woman who loved her enough to seek the right home and care for her. I don’t even know what I would do if I bought a mare that was carrying!
    Also, shame on horse owners who are deceitful and false, it makes it impossible to take at face value anything you are told. I learned the hard way too to involve a veterinarian and a mentor or expert in purchasing. I bought an off the track thoroughbred, who was so sweet and calm the few times I visited and rode him. Turns out he was mostly likely heavily medicated, and I didn’t know what to look for(droopy lips, hanging head). He ended up being dangerous and having a canon bone injury. I am much wiser now, but it was hard earned!

    That poor little Mare! Tella's foal looks very much as if it was sired by a Clydesdale.
    It's huge. It has shaggy hoofs, a white face and a roan coat. Clydie characteristics!
    Poor little Tella!

      Foal certainly looks that way, but could a Clydesdale stallion mate a mare that's less than half his height? Maybe some mixed small heavy horse sire with Clydesdale in his background. I see Clydesdale mares & foals near here and the foals are taller than Tells!

    Years ago, this happened to a friend. When she bought her mare it was in foal, but it wasn't far along, so you couldn't physically tell....When the mare started suddenly putting on SO much weight, they were surprised - since her diet hadn't changed - and they called in a vet to 'see what was wrong'......LOL So, a few months later, the mare delivered a colt. They called him ' Shannon's Secret'. 'Shannon' for the mare, and 'Secret' was his everyday, barn name !! :)

How many times do we see this exact same story, it happened to my sister with her dales mare.and now 8 year old dales daughter, that she kept, we all helped. However, this story often has a just get itbsold asap, back in a dealers yard as quick as possible because people "want their money back". The trauma most of these animals go through at the most vulnerable time is hell. The fact this lady got help and a secure place says so much about her. Just had to say.

    You always like to think people are honest but I've seen some pretty egregious lies at livestock sales at least over here in the states. Even in person it's best if your a first time buyer to bring along somebody who's been around the block so to speak and can spot things you're green to notice. One of the things I see out here a lot is selling miniatures and ponys as "completely broken" and "bomb proof" when in reality they're ridden around the sales arena by a kid WAY too big for them to comfortably carry. It's hard to buck and be stubborn when you have a giant on your back.

    • @VK-qe7if
      @VK-qe7if ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Sadly a lot of people are liars when it comes to selling horses or ponies, and my advice is to never believe what they say, and always get the horse you're thinking of buying vetted by a reputable vet, and not by the sellers vet. I nearly got caught once when I went to try a horse I was interested in buying, and he was just what I wanted, and I rode him and was very happy with him. I decided wisely to have him vetted, and sadly he failed the vetting because he had Arthritis in his hocks, I was broken hearted 💔 😢

    • @vlg1728
      @vlg1728 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      liars are everywhere, not just in US. Puppies that are sold as "pure" (and accordingly priced) but when they grow up they're nothing like the race they're supposed to be. Horses that have medical condition(s), the owner know but don't say anything (here you can sue the seller if the animal has a medical condition, but you have to prove that he knew BEFORE selling them, and that there was a real intention to deceive). That's why here, pre-purchase vet visit is more and more popular, to be sure there's nothing wrong with the legs or the back. Maybe costly, but aways less than if you have to pay thousands of vet bills to fix a leg or you have to retire your horse at 7yo because of a bad back

    • @vlg1728
      @vlg1728 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      there's even a well known animal traffic here, that consists of taking all the "free kitten" people have, and sell them as "pure-breed cat", sold like 600, sometimes more for popular breeds.

I would want a vet check and many videos online show why it is important to be personally present at the vet check and bring an independant vet of your choice, otherwise people can team up to lie to you. It feels like the owner before the young lady who bought Tella was not kind to Tella. Especially since this seller lied to the young lady. Kudos to the young lady who made the hard and good decision to get Tella the help she needs. Tella doesn’t know how lucky she is that the young lady bought her. That was the start of a beautiful life. Good luck to everyone involved.

    Thank you for helping the young owner. I'm sure after saving up for their 1st horse they were heartbroken.
    However, acquiring any animal it's not just the cost of the animal purchase, its the upkeep and having the resources and finances to cover unexpected medical costs. If the horse wasn't with foal but at some point fell ill, could you afford the vet fees and meds? If not, you're not ready to take on a pony or horse. You have to cover the rainy days not just the sunny ones.

    My friend's horse gave birth to a beautiful colt 2 days ago. We had no idea she was pregnant, and apparently neither did her previous owners. We were in quite a shock when my friend got a call from someone who was going around feeding the horses their hay and morning feeds at around 6 when she found the foal in her stable. Thank god they were both alright and it was probably an easy birth
