Another game miserably ported from Arcade to the NES. I have never played the Arcade version so I am unable to compare the two but this was really an unpleasant experience overall. But.. there are so many games that are worse I guess. -

I think the thing I loved about this game as a kid was the sense of weight of each fight. In most other NES action games you had a ton of dudes or bullets flying at you all the time, but in this one, each fight is a little mini-boss fight in itself.
Seeing it now, it's obviously not a great game, but I sure had a ton of fun with it 22 years ago.

"Composer: Sho" Well he Sho'd us what a great NES soundtrack sounds like.
This may have been a mediocre game, but the music makes up for it, which is the best part of it.

One of the few games I couldn't beat because of the last boss (if I remember correctly it doesn't take maybe a minute before I suddenly can't move my character and I just keep watching it die).
It actually triggers me to see my cousin and other people on the internet beat him easily while I have spent hours in vain lmao.. Ah good old days

what was the solution
I remember playing this and getting all the way to the final Dragon, but couldn't ever figure out how to damage him. And as the game was a rental, I was never able to finish this one.

Back in early 2000s 7 year old me found this game a bit creepy but very hard and barely got to level 3 lol
кстати есть способ продлить метательное оружие в виде дуги. надо просто зажать кнопку быстрого удара(что бы использовать ее постоянно пока идешь) это значительно продлевает время владения этим оружием.

Game was made by five people, with thanks and special thanks to three others. All but one of those 8 people had their name shortened or went by an alias. Not getting the sense that a lot of pride went into this one.
Rough draft in Japan it was actually pretty common to not have the real names of the developers mentioned. You see that a lot in the NES/SNES era

The helmet in the beginning reminds me of Dragonar-1 from Metal Armor Dragonar.
Sword Master seems to be better and thank god it was a sequel to this.

This game reminds me of sword master,not only that but that game is also much better.
Hit detection in this game is crazy. It took me a while how to avoid attacks or use the shield effectively.

I actually prefer the NES soundtrack, over the Arcade OST. Least it sounds more epic on the NES, instead of generic Rock music that tries too hard to make you feel like a badass.

Blue bar is your experience bar.. when you kill an enemy it goes up. When it’s full you get more health
The funny thing is the game is actually quite expensive to buy. I've noticed this with a lot of shitty games but for some reason I still love them :L games with horrible hit detection and flaws are challenging. There isn't even health bars with the enemies. Yeah the game was developed by a small team but surely they could have added health bars
A knight in shining armor, a damsel in distress, a powerful dragon. WOW!! The most epic repetitive concept ever! It's like Ghosts and Goblins but in a serious badass way! =D
This NES version is not so good as the Arcade version but I still love this gameplay. Long live JagOfTroy and his damsel in distress. ;)
Thanks for the gameplay! A little journey in time, but I couldn't remember the title. One thing still bugs me: why do you suffer damage when using flail?!?! That puzzled me as a kid as much as it puzzles me now...
