Mega weren't bad, but they set a precedent that devolved into Z move, dynamax and terastalation, which are incredibly worse and gimmicky. Mega were a way to give older pokemon a time to shine while not making new evolutions. but no, dudunsparces, fuck us.
@@ildathet Z-moves are nothing more than a one-off ultimate move with a typing that can vary depending on which crystal the holder has and whether or not they know a move that matches the crystal's type. The thing about this is that once it's used it's gone for the rest of the match, which means that one wrong move and your trump card is gone. For example, It's the middle of a battle and your low HP Tapu Koko is staring down a Calm Mind-boosted Tapu Fini. The only thing saving your remaining pokemon from getting swept is your Tapu Koko's Gigavolt Havoc, so you use it. However, the opp predicts this, and switches into a Pikachu with Lightningrod. Not only did your hail mary get wasted, but the risk of being swept is still there. Megas tho? You turn your pokemon into a psuedo-legend with a broken stat spread and sometimes ability for the entire time they're alive. There's no turn limit, it doesn't go away when you switch out. What's more, the buff is applied at the BEGINNING of the turn, so forget outspeeding it to negate the effects. It's a permanent buff to your overall battle performance that the opponent is helpless to stop. This all sounds bad enough on paper but it's so, so much worse in practice. Many of the pokemon chosen to be able to mega evolve are either pure tier-defining titans or just straight up banned, the latter being Kangaskhan, Gengar, Rayquaza, Lucario, Metagross, Salamence, and Mewtwo. Although some megas are downright useless, like Banette, Blaziken, Audino, Garchomp, it's not nearly enough to fix the inherently brokenness they bring to the table. TL;DR: Z-moves require you to use your brain, megas don't.
The things that ruined Megas was giving already good Pokémon the ability to go Mega. There’s no good reason Mewtwo should have TWO mega evolutions. Pokémon like Beedrill, Camerupt, and Mawile should have been given priority for the ability
Gotta disagree with the legendaries. They’re rare and great but they’re still Pokémon. In the anime, I agree. In a game, that’s just not how it should work. If we were to keep the legendaries to lore accurate, you just don’t get any.
SV was a buggy mess. but I still enjoyed the rest of the game besides that. X and Y just never left a lasting impact on me. Gonna replay soon and see if that changes!
No way. What ruined it is taking megas away and giving us all this other dumb crap that never was as good.

Burning hot take: Z-moves are great, Megas aren't.
Teras is definitely better and less gimmicky than Megas
@@PhantomAkira5 intéresting,care to elaborate ?

I get it. I just wish it wasn't as easy as it is currently !
@@PokemonRangerJackson I think you should look up how to obtain meloetta in the DLC
Dude you can't have released this a day ago having seen Scarlet and Violet.... and still say X Y is the worst game in the series

@@PokemonRangerJackson I loved X and Y, it broke the mould for changes while introducing megas which please almost everyone
Too bad every new game has to have a new quirky gimmick
The starter opinions were definetly the most controversial opinions
Best starter for his own generation? Sure, Cyndaquil is the best. Of every starter? I love him so much but absolutely not
I believe I said I won't take any slander for my Cyndaquil opinion 😂
