When gen 4 came out Munchlax and bonsly were introduced in xd gale of darkness Which came out before Diamond and pearl. So for munchlax to be the gift pokemon reaches further than it being a gen 4 pokemon.

I have to tell you this! These comments are the only way I know how. I think I ACTUALLY found Ash's dad, and youd never see it coming. Its brendens dad. Most of the main characters have his hair color. The only ones that dont are Brendan and the unova main charact. Its like Joy and Jenny, but they arent all carbon copies. All of the fathers have been absent including Brendans. Brendans dad is too busy with the gym. Thats where he's decided to call home. With his only legitimate son through a marriage. The rest are illegitimate and some he probably has no idea exist. The reason they all end up being the hero is because red stopped team rocket, getting aceus' attention. Arceus may have ordered all of the legendaries and mythicals to watch the sons of Norman (Brendans dad) and help them. Norman probably met all of their mothers while he was traveling as a trainer to all of the regions, falling in love at each one like sanji in one piece. It sounds farfetched (haha), but it seems more possible than all of the main characters having different abscent fathers. Brendans dad is busy at a hoenn gym because EVERYONES dads are busy at a hoenn gym. Hes not a deadbeat. Just got around a little too much. Ash was supposed to meet his dad in his last episode, but guess who was too busy to make it... Maybe the same guy whos too busy to see his own wife and son next door to the gym in hoenn... (Sorry this comment wasnt about the video. I hope you understand.)
