  • daniel murphy demonstrates falling techniques when standing ion the hooks, either to cut above an area of decay or shorten up the drop to fit in the LZ. Some details of the cuts used are shown and there is a cool slow motion that shows the forward motion of the top as it flies. Good action...

    Since a lot of people have asked, just wanted you all to know the reason fro the low backcut on the first drop. I hit metal on the plunge cut, and wanted to cut low enough to ensure the cut would get under the metal without cutting so low as to casue the step to hang up on the front of the trunk, and cause the tip to over-rotate and come down early.

      Not sure how I missed this video, since I have been watching your videos ever since you came on TH-cam...(???)...but, yeah - that was a very low back-cut, Lol

      (and not just "over-rotate", but, if that cut had been 4" lower, it might have been enough to get it sliding backwards...and then...😬😜)

    Wow, that was awesome, I am going to go right back and watch this again.
    I love how your customer lady prayed that tree over "owe Jesus", your Angel.. Bless her and her nice house/home.. I love the compilation, and your big saw sounds set up (tuned) for power, I love how it is 4 stroking b4 it warms up, (good, better a little rich than too lean and hot, can always go back and lighten that plug color, keep them chocolate colored as my brother says) hungry saw. Ah ha, I love it..
    "Give me the Big Saw". Yes Sir, coming right up..

    Holy crap that is a huge tree! Damn, that was impressive, even had a tripod feet away and didn't even touch it, that's gotta be a good feeling to have such a risky cut go so well. If I were the home owner, I'd be terrified the whole way.

    @jorde1230 some of the trees would not fit into the LZ if cut from ground.. others had bad decay at the base... some had both...

    Did you use a lower back cut below the hinge to get the tree away from you a little bit just curious

    • @murphy4trees
      @murphy4trees  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      actually, I plunged the back cut about an inch higher than the notch, so the hinge was set, I then started the back release cut and felt like I hit metal, so I brought the cut down much lower, as the only thing I could see being up that high was an old light.

    Dan. Please tell me why you cut below you notch? I thought to always cut parallel or above 1-2 inches

      @murphy4trees  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hit metal on the plunge cut as recall... thought iot might be an old light so went well below it.
