I remember playing this in gym class. I didn't realize it was an actual sport, let alone an Olympic sport, until TH-cam recommend this video to me.
It is and it's a very tough sport. It can be quite brutal.

Personally I would like Women's Handball more than the men's game in the Summer Olympics but it's hard to believe that a Romanian was the top Women's handball goal scorer in the 2008 games When Norway won the gold medal match as well as the semi-final one.
That means Romania was a one player team more than most. You need a strong team to win.

Do goalies actually do anything in this sport how would you accidentally even throw it at them to block it
They do a lot actually; the goalkeeper is the position that has the most influence on the final result. But yeah it's very difficult to make a save because the ball goes super fast
They range around 30-40% in saves. A great goalie on a hot streak can have close to 50%.
@@coulissart also keeping track of attackers and where the ball is passed and their positions must be nuts
i'm not going to debate whether it's harder than other field sports because i don't have any experience in this, but i'm just gonna guess that hand eye coordination and reaction time is literal critical for goalkeeping lol

This sport is so easy lol. Barely any contact and it’s easy to trick and throw at certain angles. Why is this a serious sport. Football and soccer are complicated
