I'm sure a good amount of us has passed up potentially great opportunities. I'm not saying it happens to everyone, but this guy definitely put in work to be in the position he's in now.

I learned that at 35, i am broke and will probably die broke. I have worked a good portion of my life but never had a passion to pursue because working to help family or just survive was always the focus. Shout out to those of you who found success and to those who are like me, don’t allow anyone to look down at what you do. Working in any job is a blessing in itself.

This was very different than the regular “what do you do for a living” videos you usually find online. All of these people were very insightful and informative with their answers. You can tell they’re true leaders, I loved it!

Btw a good question to ask people next time is how did they discover they had a valuable skill. For many we may have a skill or an ability to do something but don’t notice the value in said skill. If possible I would love to see an episode of how someone took the steps to understand they have a valuable skill and how they put it into motion. Honestly those first steps in my opinion are probably way more important than what was discussed here
@@runway5338 I discovered I had a knack for childcare during the recession. I had been living in my van and working a slew of low paying jobs. So when winter encroached I took that money and volunteered on boats in the Caribbean. Well, on one island I met a 5 year old girl who wanted me to take her to the beach 🏖️ and her family let me! We had such a good time that I thought, this is my calling. So when I got back I started babysitting for rich people 😆. My other skill I discovered by necessity and that is being a landlady and renting out rooms. Having the patience to put up with random strangers in the house takes practice, but it's all about survival. One thing I can't do is work in employment with other adults as some of them are just awful. 😆
The first guy you could tell was so genuine and knew what he was talking about. He gave great advice and you can tell he tries to truly live like a successful person
I've been an Equinox member for over a decade. I'm a health coach and write it off on my taxes 😆. I am a member at one of their exclusive gyms at the highest level. At the same time, I also was a trainer there when it was owned by another high end chain. Equinox is the best investment in my health. And at the same time, gives me the motivation to keep building my business to enjoy luxuries like this and not worry about it.
Great interviews! I like how it wasn't just a bunch of bankers or tech millionaires, but rather people from a variety of career backgrounds. The common thread was that they all seemed to have very focused and driven personalities - driven to find career success, driven to learn from failures, driven to take care of their physical and mental health, and driven to continue to learn.

agreed selling calls on bluechip stocks is probably one of the safest and quickest ways to snowball money into wealth and all the other things he had going too with solar sales. all at 24. very imprssive

I work in tech and pay 320 at equinox because when I want to choke someone at work I just get it out at the gym and the amenities are impeccable. The ambiance at equinox really helps you relax, plus their classes are amazing
I would have to agree with Sunny, most people don’t enjoy the gym and Equinox provides a gym experience that really isn’t comparable to other mainstream gyms or local gyms. The amenities provided alone do give a luxurious feel without having to pay unnecessarily high. The monthly payments make sense to an extent, but I feel like $250 - $300 is where the membership should be
All of these conversations were amazing! Seems like a lot of these people are practicing the things that most people say to do (think long-term and not short-term, invest into yourself, doing what you thoroughly enjoy, health is wealth, read books, journal/reflect, have mentors who are further ahead than you so you don't make as many mistakes, networking, etc.)
I'm so glad that Jim mentioned the stats about being sure of your trade. You have to assess what your downside risk is for your portfolio and diversify with different asset classes such as both real estate and stocks.
I think the value of college depends on so many factors. I come from a poor family and was raised in the hood. Education in itself became a currency. I was too smart to settle for that environment. College was my way out and it’s made a huge difference in my life. I don’t know if I’ll be getting a Master’s though👀
Equinox comes as a free perk for a lot of people through their employer. I had it for a few years at no cost, so it doesn't always mean they're paying/ loaded.
@@abdulqasemi3585 that's actually not really true. I work at a tea shop paying me $20 per hour full time and they pay for my Equinox membership through a gym reimbursement perk.

Love how so many of them recommend simply not spending money on things you don't need as a way of building wealth. I lost my job at the start of the pandemic and went to work at a big box warehouse for a while. I was surprised by the fancy cars the other workers drove, the expensive shoes and clothes, etc. We were making $20/hr. Makes no sense. Now that I'm back to a regular job and making a good salary, I still drive my older Toyota and invest instead of buy things I don't need. Feel bad for the warehouse workers though.
@@KK-pm7ud That's because they already made it and they also view it as an investment on their mental and physical health which benefits their business. It's not expensive for someone who makes hundreds of thousands per year for years. It doesn't get in the way of their financial goals. The saving advice is for people on the come up who haven't made enough to splurge... they will never grow their business if they always blow their profits on luxury items.
Biggest expense was always living, ie house or rent payments, things to splurge on was ALWAYS food, and every single one of them talked about connections and investing, whether that was in stocks or yourself through learning and even vacations.
I used to be a member of this gym for two years and loved it. I would work on my laptop in the cafe and work out twice a day (usually weights and a class). For someone who spent more than half my workweek there, it was totally worth it. Also the people there are (mostly) really genuine like you show in this video.

Joining equinox is one of those decisions I made that had to be more involved than other gym memberships I previously had. It's not cheap, I don't think anyone, well most Equinox members at least, would argue that fact. With that cost comes some considerations with other spending we do regularly. Instead of burning money on multiple days of the week drinking and eating out, cut some of it, make healthier food and put the extra to the gym membership. It required some introspection and even if I didn't need to cut spending on things, it made me realize the self-destructive habits I had and needed to be worked on. Also, part of why I love this place is that everyone is there for a purpose: to improve themselves while being respectful to everyone around them. I've not had a day at the gym where others will make you feel weird, conscious or unsafe. The members, staff and the especially the environment is just very accommodating for everyone. Lastly, if you're the type that is always on the go. A consistent class schedule, solid equipment availability and well maintained amenities do go a long way in making the gym going experience more enjoyable. I go before and after work so a nice clean shower room is so nice to have. Big plus is that I've not had the types of people who record and get mad if you're in their videos.
These episodes are my favourites. Just 20 mins before my work starts in the morning and I am so pumped up and ready for the day. Looking for more. Thank you so much for all these videos.
That yoga teacher looks great for his age! I've been doing and loving yoga for months now and I've been thinking about becoming licensed to teach it as well so I appreciate his advice on that

I couldn’t imagine not learning the things I did in college, through my social mentors, friends and interactions. You learn through experience from not only yourself , but countless others. This goes for mistakes and successes

This video literally answered the exact question I had just a few weeks ago. I am obsessed with awesome gyms around the world, and while in the USA I visited an Equinox. Walking around, my mind was racing trying to figure out how all of these people afford this gym, and WHAT do they do for a job! I can't believe this video popped up for me shortly after. I took away so many golden pieces of advice from this - it definitely inspired me to be an Equinox member one day!!!! *when I move out of New Zealand haha*
yea we need a whole interview with the first dude. he genuinely is giving advice that works for people regardless of where they live. If you can find a way into Hedge/Speculative fund management you're set regardless of where you live in the US.
Daytrader here, stock options are the most riskiest asset classes. I do not recommend it to newer people, people who don’t want contribute a lot of time, and not enough capital. Like the guy said, he lost $200k in one day. That’s not rare, it’s common for many people. He was lucky and recovered while many many couldn’t and lost it all, their life savings and emergency funds. Stick to safer investments.

@@loumulet because I am good at it. I didn’t gamble too much unlike others when I first started. However, I did lost money when I first started out, when I was 18. But I did learn and learn. I was 18 at the time so I had the whole world/time to learn it. Btw I started at 16 but due to school didn’t had the time. If I was a lot older and a job I would probably wouldn’t and I would’ve gamble some of my savings. Stocks is the game of losers and winners. Each trade you buy or sell is someone’s win or loss.
This was really refreshing to watch, I'm currently on my way to achieving financial freedom and loved how all of these people have very similar mind sets as each other and myself. So I know that I'm definitely choosing the best path by investing in myself and learning that one profitable skill so that I can market myself and do positive things for people.

Very informative. I am currently 26 and for the past years I have always said I want to invest in stocks or something that will provide me with a good amount of returns but it's easier said than done. You really need to know what you are doing if you don't want to lose your money. I have yet to start investing, I just keep procrastinating on doing research and also life gets in the way.
Hearing those L.A. rent price tags certainly makes me grateful for mine here in Michigan. I do miss my Miracle Mile studio apartment @ Wilshire + La Brea!!! Hard to believe rent was just $1165 in the heart of it back when I paid it 2014 to 2017. Still miss everything that came with it!

Omg I miss this gym 😭 It was like going to the spa every time I went to workout. They also had the best hot yoga classes. If you workout a lot sometimes an expensive gym membership is worth it Vs spending it on going out etc.
seems like everyone wishes they started investing earlier, knows that the best investment is in yourself, and know that $300 isnt alot because your paying for perks like not having a crowded gym.

I lost my job at the start of the pandemic and went to work at a big box warehouse for a while. I was surprised by the fancy cars the other workers drove, the expensive shoes and clothes, etc. We were making $20/hr. Makes no sense.
Now that I'm back to a regular job and making a good salary, I still drive my older Toyota and invest instead of buy things I don't need. Feel bad for the warehouse workers though.
Same. Car is paid off and I’ve got money in my savings/stocks . it feels good to not have expenses I can’t afford like a fancy car etc.

@@KK-pm7ud That's because they already made it and they also view it as an investment on their mental and physical health which benefits their business. It's not expensive for someone who makes hundreds of thousands per year for years. It doesn't get in the way of their financial goals. The saving advice is for people on the come up who haven't made enough to splurge... they will never grow their business if they always blow their profits on luxury items.
Biggest expense was always living, ie house or rent payments, things to splurge on was ALWAYS food, and every single one of them talked about connections and investing, whether that was in stocks or yourself through learning and even vacations.
if humans didn't need to eat ... that would sure take away a lot of burdens.

I used to be a member of this gym for two years and loved it. I would work on my laptop in the cafe and work out twice a day (usually weights and a class). For someone who spent more than half my workweek there, it was totally worth it. Also the people there are (mostly) really genuine like you show in this video.

Joining equinox is one of those decisions I made that had to be more involved than other gym memberships I previously had. It's not cheap, I don't think anyone, well most Equinox members at least, would argue that fact. With that cost comes some considerations with other spending we do regularly. Instead of burning money on multiple days of the week drinking and eating out, cut some of it, make healthier food and put the extra to the gym membership. It required some introspection and even if I didn't need to cut spending on things, it made me realize the self-destructive habits I had and needed to be worked on.
Also, part of why I love this place is that everyone is there for a purpose: to improve themselves while being respectful to everyone around them. I've not had a day at the gym where others will make you feel weird, conscious or unsafe. The members, staff and the especially the environment is just very accommodating for everyone.
Lastly, if you're the type that is always on the go. A consistent class schedule, solid equipment availability and well maintained amenities do go a long way in making the gym going experience more enjoyable. I go before and after work so a nice clean shower room is so nice to have. Big plus is that I've not had the types of people who record and get mad if you're in their videos.

Kateri had great points about college and learning from others different from you. It’s not just about what you major in. I couldn’t imagine not learning the things I did in college, through my social mentors, friends and interactions. You learn through experience from not only yourself , but countless others. This goes for mistakes and successes
Damn, makes me wish I went to college. Various life situations and health issues derailed me from that path but maybe it's not too late. Who knows...

Can't believe content like this is free. People take everything for granted nowadays that we forget just a few years ago insights like this, though barely scratch the surface, are only available if you're really well connected or have decent amount of resources.
My office overlooks this gym, always neat to hear the exotics roll up and then peak out the window to see what it is. Good lunch spot for a healthy meal too!

This video literally answered the exact question I had just a few weeks ago. I am obsessed with awesome gyms around the world, and while in the USA I visited an Equinox. Walking around, my mind was racing trying to figure out how all of these people afford this gym, and WHAT do they do for a job! I can't believe this video popped up for me shortly after. I took away so many golden pieces of advice from this - it definitely inspired me to be an Equinox member one day!!!! *when I move out of New Zealand haha*

Daytrader here, stock options are the most riskiest asset classes. I do not recommend it to newer people, people who don’t want contribute a lot of time, and not enough capital.
Like the guy said, he lost $200k in one day. That’s not rare, it’s common for many people. He was lucky and recovered while many many couldn’t and lost it all, their life savings and emergency funds.
Stick to safer investments.

@@loumulet because I am good at it. I didn’t gamble too much unlike others when I first started. However, I did lost money when I first started out, when I was 18. But I did learn and learn. I was 18 at the time so I had the whole world/time to learn it. Btw I started at 16 but due to school didn’t had the time. If I was a lot older and a job I would probably wouldn’t and I would’ve gamble some of my savings.
Stocks is the game of losers and winners. Each trade you buy or sell is someone’s win or loss.
This was really refreshing to watch, I'm currently on my way to achieving financial freedom and loved how all of these people have very similar mind sets as each other and myself. So I know that I'm definitely choosing the best path by investing in myself and learning that one profitable skill so that I can market myself and do positive things for people.

Very informative. I am currently 26 and for the past years I have always said I want to invest in stocks or something that will provide me with a good amount of returns but it's easier said than done. You really need to know what you are doing if you don't want to lose your money. I have yet to start investing, I just keep procrastinating on doing research and also life gets in the way.
