Sitting here on a Saturday morning having a good cup of coffee and thoroughly enjoying your video of the Alaska experience. Thanks for the great video.
great video ! Thanks for sharing. I've cruised to Alaska twice in September and once in July, but next year will be the first in May. I hope I have as good of weather as you did.
+bluegraham1 The temperatures in Sept 12 were not too bad = 50's during the day even 60's once. As with Alaska rain is always possible. Last time we had wonderful weather in Glacier Bay and Skagway, but rain in Juneau and Ketchikan. I took the hike anyway. The tour guide handed out ponchos. In Anchorage it rained heavy one day, then cleared up. Back in Sept 2002 there was very little rain. I think September with better rates is a bargain. You should have a blast ! :)
Great video. My family is wanting to do an Alaskan cruise, do you have any advice? We normally cruise the Caribbean so this will be a new experience for us all.
I have been there 4 times and the weather can be bad at any time. My travel agent told me just get the best rate you can and go. Late June and July are the busiest and the most expensive because this is when the salmon run is. If that is important to you then book as early as you can because as the cruise gets closer it will double in price. Other wise wait until January to February and look for the bargains. Glad you enjoyed the video.
The dreaded " taxes and fees " ,,,, be nice to have an all inclusive price quoted in Canadian funds. Saw a round trip Alaska cruise advertised from Vancouver for September 2015 for the three of us, we need two cabins, we all qualify for the senior rate. Outside / oceanview cabin $ 948.00 by the time we figured in the good old taxes and fees and converted the cost to Canadian funds the actual price was $ 1693.00. We decided that a five star all inclusive resort in Cuba was better value.
Great video! You captured all the ports - very helpful!! Going on land and sea cruise in June. Did you take any excursions and if so what would you recommend?
james candiff Didn't think about a tripod. I'm going to Alaska next month and I don't think I want to carry a tripod around with me unless I use a foldable one. Hopefully I can take some great pictures like you did.
hi everyone ,if anyone else needs to find out about model railroad track planning try Stiklind Model Train Fixer (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some interesting things about it and my brother in law got cool success with it.
