For the love of god don’t watch the holiday special, it’s truly painful, worse than for Harrison Ford, at least he just acted in some of the more normal parts of the special, but other parts are so long and nonsensical, it’s really a struggle to watch. Maybe if you’re with a group and all drunk or high it might be bearable.

Mate... My best mates dad is a vietnam vet, Still alive, thank god (and in 2 days we are approaching Anzac Day). As you can appreciate, i have every respect for him and every vet that fought for our freedom that we have today and how they were treated when they came back and the B.S. way they are treated by the government today in so many ways not just the lack of money in a pension.
Point is, Me and my mates dad have had many conversations about the days of old and the flashbacks and we've cried and remembered.
but after all that is said and done, you know what he says to me
- You have to move on
- You have to learn to laugh again
- that was another time and horrific things were done, however when you look at history there have been more horrific things done
His point simply was... Learn to laugh and enjoy life again for the little time that we are here.
As for your uncle.... I'm also an uncle.

I heard George Lucas said he wished he could smash every copy of the Holiday Special with a sledgehammer.
Yep and this was in the 90s so conventions were very unground so tapes were being copied like crazy and passed around, nothing that George could do to stop it 😅

Side note about the thumb and pinkie finger being the universal sign for phone. As a Christmas gift, I gave a pair of Bluetooth gloves to my boss. They were awesome because the mic was in the pinkie and the speaker was in the thumb. You literally walk around talking into your pinkie with your thumb by your ear. It takes “talk to the hand” to a whole other level.

I got so excited when I saw the ad for the Star Wars Christmas Special in the TV Guide in 1978. I was 6 and never watched Star Wars so I thought this was the real deal Star Wars and I was finally going to see it. I never watched Star Wars until it came to HBO in 1983.
