Mark Hamill: Treats it like it dosent exist
Carrie Fischer: Treats it as a joke
Anthony Daniels: Treats it like someone just said a forbidden curse
Harrison Ford: *Treats it like he had Vietnam flashbacks*
Harrison looked more frightened than the rest of them.
The man was quickly looking around the room like; "alright, where are the exits to this place."
@@redshirt5126 this is why ford wanted to quit and the only two good things about this were THE storybook and boba fett. otherwise IT MADE jar jar blinks look sane.
he was probably the one who wasn't high while making it,
so he actually remembers making it
The biggest kick in the nuts of the Holiday Special is it marked the first appearance of Boba Fett
The only decent part yeah
And kashyyyk 😭
and... it's quite impressive too XD

Sitting on a gold mine. Release it!
Han was the most active main character on the Holiday Special. No wonder why Harrison was having a Vietnam Flashback
The Special is likely where his dislike of Star Wars really started.
That’d make a lot of sense
@@alucard624 if you had to work on something considered so horrendous, you probably would too
well, he was attracted to Harvey Korman with giant boobs

I would like to ask, "Would it be cruel and unusual punishment for the Holiday Special to be the only show available in a prison?"
100% it would yes lol
It would be an automatic violation of Habeas Corpus.
It would go against the Geneva Convention to show only this in prison.
If they want to really add that War Crime element to it, they'll show it side by side with the Roger Corman "Fantastic Four"...
24/7/365 the holiday special is all that plays in the us prison system… shit man the inmate popluation would get straight or Minecraft themselves overnight
The holiday special is still available on TH-cam becuase neither Disney or Lucasfilm wants to claim copyright for it.
If they did, they’d be owning up to a lot of mistakes
When you're so bad, not even Disney wants to copyright you.
@@oscardepaz3063 If only they didnt copyright anything for the garbage THEY made
Indeed it is unfortunately. I watched the whole thing from beginning to end on Christmas 2017. Boy do regret it 🤣
I love these different reactions to the Holiday Special:
- Mark Hamill: Obvious denial but also accepting how it was an awful reality
- Carrie Fischer: Laughing about it
- Anthony Daniels: Dignified disgust
- Harrison Ford: PTSD and (4:03 that face says "I hate you so much and I will end you!")
Harrison al;so has that Vietnam vet having flashback look in his face as he looks around
Carrie Fischer was so wasted out of her god damn mind when shooting this no wonder she doesn't remember it.
@@erich3784 somebody has watched red letter media… Did you guys know that Carrie Fisher did cocaine heading into the 1980s? 15-year-old fanboys on TH-cam sure do.
Daniels knows that it’s not a good idea to upset the people who employed you the most 🤣😎
Watch the scenes in ROTJ where they're being briefed on the second Death Star. It cuts to her face several times, and in one of the cuts, she looks like she's so full of dope that Harrison could have stomped on her foot and she wouldn't have felt it.@@evilsWa
I remember hearing that George Lucas had said " If I had the time and a sledgehammer, I would track down every single copy of the Star Wars Holiday Special and smash it."
Personally, I bet he found it embarrassing.
that’s serious if it’s from the guy behind the prequels
@@pl9nningforburial my thoughts exactly. I don't necessarily hate the prequel movies, but I can understand why people do.
@@byronlee8745 MeToo. I don't care about the prequels because movies are just movies for me but I understand the people who hate it. He had 10 years to came up with something great and 5 years to make sure it looks great and he made that crap.
It looks like Lucas using his talent more if he have less money or technology in his hand.
Yet he still cashed in his checks.
Howard the Duck, cheesy as it is, is still more entertaining than this.
BLESS Carrie Fisher for remembering the lyrics to that God-Awful Life Day song 30+ years later.
Mark: It didn't happen.
Carrie: I don't remember it.
Anthony: I don't want to talk about it.
Harrison: *will kill you if you bring it up.
Harrison's face when Conan says shortly after Star Wars; just the fear building up in him. You can just see him thinking, "Don't do it. I mean it. I'm going to kill you. I will." He is just wanting to escape. It's wonderful!!!
If Han were there, Conan would have taken a point blank baster hit to the face. “Boring conversation.”
Yes, Han shot first. He also walked away. Greedo’s smoldering corpse can’t say the same.
He shakes his head no, like a child being questioned by his dad who will get out the belt.
2:27 I love how Harrison just slowly gains a look of trauma.
The Harrison Ford segment is priceless.
He's so good, he had me thinking for a second that he was actually going to have a nervous breakdown just thinking about it.
Dude is looking around like he thinks a sniper is after him
And he's never won an Oscar...
At least it's only the second most embarrassing Star Wars thing he's ever done.

The PTSD on all their faces!
You gotta love Carrie's reaction! 0:51
Probably my favorite one 😄
I wonder what she actually does remember, she's very drunk in the actual special and also it was around the time she started to sniff coke like it was oxygen
I also love how she kept a copy and put it on whenever she wanted people to leave if there ever were a party 😂
If you've never seen the Holiday Special, let me put it like this, as someone who watched the complete thing: the Holiday Special really is as bad as everyone says. But it wasn't really "so-bad-it's-good," as much as it was the kind of movie that makes your brain feel like it's melting. (It's like the recent version of Cats; everything is uncanny or borderline nonsensical, and if you watch it, you'll feel like your sanity is fading away.)
If you're sordidly curious about this movie, trust me when I say that you're missing nothing. You don't need to look this up. Unless you want to see the animated portion, which is comically bad, but has the first appearance of Boba Fett.
@LamanKnight
Oh I forced myself to watch the whole thing on Christmas 2017. And boy do I regret it 🤣😬
@@Wills-Corner Thank you for your sacrifice, so that you can protect others from this menace. (Not a Phantom Menace, this time around; just a menace.)
Sat through the whole thing when i was sick a few months back for the first time, it was so fucking wild. 😂
For some reason, I used to know it existed but didn't know it sucked. So I started watching it, and I was bored out of my mind. Someone should break it down into clips of the isolated "so bad it's good" moments
Thankfully, I was only three when it aired, and if my parents watched it, they've purged it from their memories. The Rifftrax version is (kind of) watchable, though you can tell they're all enduring psychological pain. Poor Kevin Murphy (aka Tom Servo from MST3K) sounds like he's going into a complete meltdown about two minutes in.

3:25 Harrison Ford really missed a chance to say “I got a bad feeling about this.”
Ha!🤣
that would be so hacky. You obviously dont know harrison ford very well. He doesnt want to be known as just Han Solo. Hes done much more than that. In some ways he regrets his role as han solo but obviously acknowledges its why he rose to fame. So he would never do anything like that and I think no self respecting actor would. He is Harrison Ford first, not Han Solo.

Daniels actually did the hand waving mind trick gesture!

Carrie Fisher wasn't lying when she said she didn't remember it, because she was so totally burnt out on Coke during the filming of it..
Hard to blame her in that instance.

James Gunn might be parodying/homaging it for Guardians of The Galaxy Holiday special.
The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special was good too.

You’re wrong- that was great fun!
Let this be a lesson to you all. Never mention the Holiday Special to Harrison Ford especially, because likely he will grab you and he will kill you.
Carrie still had the singing talent.
I'd still take the Holiday Special over those last two god awful dumpster fires Kathleen Kennedy crapped out.
Always remember the Holiday Special is what Lucas is personally embarrassed by not the Special Editions not Jar Jar it’s the Holiday Special.
"I might have gone too far in a few places"
Of course not. The Special Editions were his decision, made carefully and tweaked to perfection every couple years. Jar Jar is a comedic character, but he fits, and all the other characters are appropriately annoyed by him. (As we are) The Holiday Special is the most random mind-melting thing ever conceived. And Lucas needed it to exist to help fund ESB
@@officialmonarchmusicMade carefully and tweaked to perfection?
The Special Editions?
What drugs are you on?
@@ImVeryOriginal It’s like poetry, it rhymes.
@@sidnew2739 First of all, there is no need to be rude. And second of all, yes that is literally the mindset behind them. The Special Editions were released in 1997, to give the films an updated feel. Then we got the 2004 DVD releases, updating the outdated effects of 1997 (ie Jabba) and also fixed a lot of continuity between the OT and PT. The 2011 blu ray release was a mix of the two, ironing out any remaining kinks and giving the colors a new look. In each release, Lucas made new changes to more closely match what he wanted for the films. Lots of careful choices were made. For instance, the Ewoks blink now. Lucas had been trying to be able to get that look right for years. In fact, the versions of the films now are NOT the Special Editions.
At the end of the day, I can't imagine why someone would think Lucas was embarrassed about the SE because if anything he's embarrassed by the pre-SE Star Wars movies. (Although I'd actually say the only movie he's actually embarrassed about would be episode 4) He's gotten them closer and closer to what he wanted for years and years. It would be incredibly strange if he were embarrassed about them
...And then came the Acolyte.
Hamill: Oh, c'mon you guys 🙄😏
Fischer: LOL that damn song
Daniels: *shudders* UGH how dare you make me relive that moment
Ford: *catatonic sweating intensifies*
I love how the voice of C-3PO is just his natural voice.
I never knew how much Anthony Daniels actually sounded like C3PO.
It’s like listening to Mark Hamil speak, and realize he sounds like the Joker almost all the time now.
I wonder if Carrie is, intentionally or not, responsible for the copies out there floating around.
I misread your comment and thought it said "corpses" 😂
The holiday special is better than the last 3 movies and more respectful to the fans.

Not the first time Star Wars has ever faced failure before because the Star Wars holiday special is definitely the worst Star Wars project ever made and the first Star Wars failure. The Star Wars holiday special is so bad that they never showed it on television ever again. However, the only good thing about the holiday special is that cartoon where they first introduced Boba Fett even though the animation looks kinda weird.

You know, maybe it's best if I don't show this awful Star Wars Holiday Special to my dog plushie Sofia and my Dream Team consisting of Belle, Beast, Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, Chip, Mulan, Mushu, Shang, Cri-Kee, Yao, Ling, Chien Po, Snow White, Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy, Dopey, Maggie, Mrs. Calloway, Grace, Buck, Lucky Jack, Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Spike, Marlin, Dory, Nemo, Gill, Peach, Bloat, Bubbles, Deb, Gurgle, Jacques, Lilo, Stitch, Nani, David, Jumba, Pleakley, Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust, Fear, Lightning McQueen, Doc Hudson, Sally, Mater, Fillmore, Sarge, Flo, Ramone, Luigi, Guido, Sheriff, Lizzie, Red, and Mack, because I think they would be just as scarred as the actors are themselves.
Despite al of the disagreements and controversies that can come out of Star Wars, I think most people can agree that the holiday special is still the most hilariously awful thing to come out of the series.
At around 1:54, Mr. Daniels attempted to use the Jedi Mind Trick to change the subject.
The creepiest part of the special to me is how they gave Chewbacca's wife and kid wookies more human like wookie faces. I cant look at them, gives me the willies 😂
that time we all had to bear witness to Chewie's dad watching VR porn
Just to recap, this came from the same guy who said Jar Jar Binks and the Howard the Duck movie were okay to show to the rest of society, which meant that this special was the one project that he was PERSONALLY ASHAMED OF.
I think the holiday special was better than all that disney has produced.
