There's a local Sydney band who call themselves Cobra Kai and the Legsweeps, they do a similar thing to Leo, except instead of metal, they're more punk, have a very Offspring sound to them. They do a brilliant punked up cover of the Land Downunder (which can be found here in TH-cam), plus a number of others you wouldn't expect. Went n seen them live about a month ago, I didn't know I needed a punked up version of Elton John's Rocketman in my life til I heard them do it.
I've had a metal version of this song in my head for 30 years....sadly I can only pound away the bass lines....thanks for giving me a look at what has been frustratingly floating around in my head! Great version!

But my 'dad' was not such a kind soul, but i did my best to learn what he taught me. After a very long time, and all of the sudden, Leo came out with this video. I was blown away! Since then i have shown this video to my own son. Today my own son is playing the guitar. Thank you Leo Moracchioli! You are not just what some might think as "fun to watch". It seems general consensus was positive and granted, that is not a proper metric to base a judgement off of (look at current pop culture drivel like Bieber, etc.) but it seemed to encompass the tone and tempo of S&Gs original version and they just added their spin to it. I compare it to Metallica's version of "Turn the Page".
I think what he meant was they didn't do a metal cover like they did with Shout and Land of Confusion. And I agree, a metal cover would be awesome (by either Leo or Disturbed). But I will say this, Disturbed did an amazing job of The Sound of Silence. It might not have been metal, but it was powerful and epic.
