English and Spanish were so often stitched and mixed together that even if you didnt "speak" Spanish somehow we were all able to communicate without much trouble at all. Trust me it only takes a couple times of listening to your friends Mom yell them and whoever was playing with them for you to figure out exactly what she was saying. No matter what language they happened to speak at home. I miss the innocence and simplicity of those days. Brown, yellow, black, white, we played with who ever we happened to be friends with. What color they were was not a factor in deciding who we hung out with. Yes, we did a survey. LOL Just joking. But, I do know Milton & Judith Krieger who did anthropological studies in Cameroon and they said ..... No, just joking again. They call the Rising Sun
It's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God, I know I'm one
My mother was a tailor
She sewed my new blue jeans
My father was a gamblin' man

Now the only thing a gambler needs
Is a suitcase and trunk
And the only time he feels satisfied
Is when he's on a drunk
Oh, mothers, tell your children
Not to do what I have done
Spend your lives in sin and misery
In the house of the Rising Sun
I've got one foot on the platform
And the other foot on the train
I'm goin' right back, on down to New Orleans
To wear that ball and chain

I listened to this the other night and thought it was Johnny Cash. I’m just now realizing it isn’t 😳 wow. What talent. And definitely a ghost. Gave me chills.
By far an excellent cover. I remember listening to Johnny Cash growing up as a kid. This is just powerful. Keep up the good work. I want to hear more from "Johnny", now that I heard that you are out there. Rock On!!!!
I was wondering why Johnny never had released this on any of his albums, then I read it wasn't him so that explains it all. This version is great and had me thinking it was really Johnny singing it so hats off to Ratcliff and I'd love to here more of the same!!!
June 2024 ! From France 😊. J. Cash the Legend ❤
There will be always someone who will listen Johnny Cash no matter what year it is 😉.. As you said "J. Cash the Legend" ❤ With love and respect from Greece ❤

my sons and co will remember me because of this one !!!2023 and 10 -15 years ago....
Siempre me gustó J. Cash uno de mi cantantes favoritos .. pero la voz de David es impresionante. . Una versión ( cover) impresionante . Gracias
It is simply wonderful to hear this music today. Because it was simply music, honestly meaningful and brilliant
Absolutely beautiful song well done with only a guitar RIP Mr Cash
I closed my eyes and still I cried at this deeply haunting voice but it was just blissful to hear those tones again God is a lucky S.O.B to hear him singing daily!!
Please refrain from using God's name in vain. You can compliment Mr. Cash without having to refer to Him as a S.O.B!!
@@TimeFlyingBy1884 Well I could but who was HIS mommy and daddy ps not religious get over it
@@TimeFlyingBy1884 Please refrain from pushing your personal religious beliefs onto other people! Not everyone believes in your god or any god at that! YOURS is not the only religion and atm I "kindly" ask to keep yours to yourself and let others live their lives to THEIR ideals, not yours!
Iv'e never heard JC do this song but if it's anything like this WOW!! this just blew me away!!!!
Your covers are awesome. Keep them coming! Truly Johnny’s spirit.
Yes, good covers. Not more. I miss the own note.. you know what i mean.

British man here. I love Jonny cash, I'm a huge country fan ❤❤
You ain't kidding about this being his ghost, very close to The Man in Black without a doubt. Love it!
Johnny lives! The world still needs a man in black.
We agree
Are you sure?
Qual o nome do cover?
É o The White bufalo que canta essa e outras músicas tbm.
Comparemos com estas músicas de hoje que são vazias de sentimento, descartáveis e despreziveis.estas são eternas!!!
Well yeah that's really profound but you're right on
אין כמו אימא בעולם!!!!!
Quando o intérprete tem personalidade até a música mais icônica, ele consegue transpor em música nova.
Quem é o intérprete?
Am I the only Cameroonian who loves country music? 😢😢
The country has 28 million people, so surely there are others.
Yes, we did a survey. LOL Just joking. But, I do know Milton & Judith Krieger who did anthropological studies in Cameroon and they said ..... No, just joking again.
I used to know a black fellow in New York who was from Jamaica. He LOVED country music. He also hated rap. It blew everyone's minds that he didn't fit the stereotype. Its sad we have such a stereotype, as music is for everyone.
Me and my dad used to listen to this song all the time when he was alive. Rest in Peace father. 8/3/81-10/16/21
Damn it, dude, seeing the dates really hit hard, he was too young to go . I know it may not seem like much but I wish you and your family the best ,I hope you make him proud . Good luck and God bless.
@@rickyricardo3551 yeah it’s overall not a very uplifting story so I’ll spare you the details but yeah he died at the age of 40 due to his heart barely working and then just died right there from a heart attack whenever he got out of his car one day. The drugs finally caught up with him to say the least and he paid dearly for it.
well wishes!
You got one of the coolest voices I ever heard. Such a great version of this song!
This arrengement captures the true meaning and feeling of this masterpiece
Die liedjie roer my hartsnare! Johnny Cash is die Koning!
This isn't Johnny Cash
@@jonford6119 Dankie!
We never had any indigenous people on TV or even barley had a song (not indigenous) on the radio. First time I seen Cash was on tv. I thought God made him look like my dad so I didn't miss him so much while he worked. Lol, then I seen I love Lucy! Ricky was slick. My cherokee father really loved Cash and he dressed like both those guys. Very handsome man. My poor Irish mother fell in love with him @ 1st sight in the famous Cains balloon in Tulsa Ok. Never looked back. Lol I lost dad in my early 30s but Johnny Cash gets me through when I miss him too much. But now I miss him too😢
