You might want to read up about how (badly) the windows manger works at least on win10 and below. also a lot of issues with faulty gsync, less consistency in performance and considerable increase of input lag are to be experienced when playing in borderless / windowed mode. Only because high end hardware makes those issues less impactful, doesn't mean they aren't there. Especially when creating content about optimizations and while trying to provide "educational data" about these topics, you erase known sources of instability / performance drains.
Man the fact you can even test this game blows my mind. Running offline vs online is a completely different beast its insane. Online I cant tell how well my game is running because the servers are perpetually on fire. If I do offline mode streets raid, I get like 50fps if I play online I get like 65-90fps so I literally feel like I cant test my settings in this game.
Great video. The community should still actively petition BSG to optimize the game and the game engine so these workarounds don't need to be done just to play the game smoothly. Downloading things like in rengawr's tarkov fps video shouldn't be necessary just to make the game playable.
For me with a 4070 and a 3900x (heavy CPU bottlneck) it has 0 impact on fps while massively improving image quality. I tested it extensively and wouldn't want to play without it again. Its like going from 1080p to 1440p. i also tested with DLSS on vs. off and I actually leave DLSS off now, because it doesn't improve my fps and noticeably increases input latency.

I also see no difference in fps when using only physical cores on and off. I don’t know about ram cleaning, I have 32gb 3200mhz ram(2x16) and I am using ISLC instead of in-game Auto ram cleaner. I should benchmark with them on and off separately. It’s sad to get scammed. When I bought my build-in desktop PC, I know nothing about CPUs. I only saw 3080 and i9, saying “OMG ITS INTEL I9 IT MUST BE SO GOOD RIGHT” but nah, I didn’t now about generations. It was 9th generation which is too old for 3080. I also said “OMG WHY THIS PC IS SO CHEAP? I MUST BUY IT INSTANTLY!” now I understand why it was cheap :D
my 4070 ti super sits at like 30-40 percent. ive tried overclocking and all the other settings i was told to change. and still no fps gain. everyone else has full usage, i cant get anywhere near that
I used this method when I only had a 1080p monitor, I upscaled to 1440p and used DLSS, it ran really good and looked good but now that I have a 1440p monitor I would have to upscale the game to 4k and say goodbye to my fps lmao
i did this mainly cause it is a better AA lol. Works perfectly on my 3090 and 7900x. also my FPS jumped quite a bit up. Also, if you play EFT on Fullscreen you DONT need to change windows resolution.
13900k / 4090 strix here. Every time i turn off vsync and try to use dlss i get constant micro stutters every ten seconds and it doesn't stop. Ill figure it out one day
I don't have the frame problem, but I gave it a try for additional clarity. It is a tad bit clearer, but I was getting atrocious screen tearing, camera movements felt jagged. So even though I had 144 frames per second, it felt like 60. Shame :)
this can only result in screen tearing if you have g-sync or freesync off. try capping your max framrate to about 3-4 fps under your max monitor refresh rate and check if g/free-sync is enabled

From Hardware to Hardware the game looks and feels like a different game.. so there is no optimized settings preset for all. Its so 👨🔧🤙 from Patch to Patch. In my case i turned on high quality colors and grass shadows + SSR between middle and Ultra because Grass is ghost-ovrlapping-flickering or so if it's turned off.. HBAO off for the frames! Ani filtering ON The 0,75x Downscale from 4K should do the rest! This methode is much more sharper and detailed in the distance!FSR sucks hard in Tarkov.. it looks like eeww! Play in Fullscreen for GPU priority with enhanced Vsync - wait for refresh off. (Here i am not so shure if its right but it seems so work) RX6800XT Ryzzen 5600 32Gb 3200 mhz M2 SSD

FMF looks very smooth, but with this ''Fake Million Frames'' technology, 128 FPS feels like 30-50FPS + the 15ms input delay and micro stuttering. Maybe there will be a driver update, but I think on BSG that they will be able to adjust the performance at some point ..soon.

with dldsr enabled Smoothness=more possible blur but less jagged edges. dldsr is for Nvidia cards only ((20-40 series) Possibly not 20 series if not please correct me) with dldsr also you can use it without the windows settings if you set it to full screen and if you have your scaling mode set with override the scaling mode set by games and programs enabled no borderless with dldsr without windows settings changed which can be annoying
After i did this my 2nd monitor just started linking like crazy and i turned everything back to normal but its still blinking i think this just ruined my monitor :(
It may have tried to change the resolution on the second monitor as well. Did it resolve itself yet? DLDSR can be a little finicky as I used it on my 2 monitor setup and had small issues similar to that.
everytime i try to use dldsr it makes my game stretch past the edges of the screen and i cant see parts of the game and menus an stuff. i dont know what it is, ive tried all the different scaling options in nvidia control panel idk what im doin wrong

Ok here is an odd one. I get around 100 fps on all maps except streets which gets me around 70. But my limit is 144, and yet not a single component gets 100% use. Gpu goes to around 50-60% Same with cpu, and only 12 of my 32 gb of ram is being expolited. It can't be thermal throttling, nothing goes above 60 degrees C. Any ideas? Of it matters tye game is on Samsung 980 gen 4 m.2 drive that is beastly when it comes to read and write speed.
If you haven't seen some of the previous videos, this is because with Tarkov, your CPU hits 100% on only *one or two* of the CPU cores/threads, causing a CPU bottleneck. The "CPU usage" stat only shows an accrued average (or mean not sure which one tbh). Either way, if only 2/8 cores are 100%, usage stat will show

I use the 1920P option with my 7950x3d and 4090. With settings pushed towards high FPS (med detail, low shadows, AF "ON" and HBAO and SSR off) I get 250-300+ Frames on 1440p on customs when near RUAF Roadblock looking back to big red. If I turn on DLDSR my frames drop down to about 230ish (costing about 60-70 frames overall) Going with the 4k option will drop frames by 90-100 frames overall from memory. If I turn everything on to high with 4k DLDSR and DLSS I sit around 150-200fps on Customs. Faster CPU should still net more frames in tarkov (8950x3d for example) if you have something like 4080, 7900xtx or 4090.
It sure doesn't increase my fps on 1440p, but it certainly looks a lot better, especially at distances. Any I have 0 issues with it otherwise. Its so much nicer than native 1440p
you can't set this resolution because you were in borderless, in fullscreen you can do that without windows setting

i did some of this and reverted my changes now my screen seems more grey and blurry, not sure if its just me

are you sure it increases input latency? my render latency with dlss on is 12ms and with it off is around 10ms. not that big a difference

Usually people call "increase in resolution" or the opposite of upscaling, downscaling

that's very interesting, I and a few friends have experienced the exact opposite

@@sandboxie97 freesync is on, framerate is capped at 142 (tested for exceeding the set limit). Haven't had this issue since I uprgaded to a 5800x3d

Your card has frame gen in the driver settings. I believe it's called FMF or fluid motion frames. Try it out and lmk what you think!

For some games it'll cut my frametime/rendertime in half but for games with anti cheats it doesn't do much.

You dont need to have it set to the resolution in windows settings. You just have to be Full Screen.
What gpu/cpu you test?

it unlocks ultra performance mode in dlss, but I guess it does not look that great then

It‘s well known that dlss doesn‘t improve FPS for wqhd alias 1440p. Use it at lesst at 4k as comparison🤦🏼♂️
It won't improve FPS in *CPU* bottlenecks, and secondarily this combination of DLSS and DLDSR will never improve FPS when used in this orientation.
