Dude, I got my OG NES MINI for 60$ when it first game out at Game Stop. Here in NYC, especially in Brooklyn you will find these "Street Vendors" who will set up tables and just sell all types of stuff for mad cheap. I picked up an SNES MINI in box along with Xbox Pro controller in the hardcase and all the attachments for 15$ total, along with an HDMI cord with "gold wiring" for faster, 4k processing for 5$.
Now obviously the SNES mini and NES mini are EXACTLY the same under the hood, its the outer shell that is different but I am still happy that I was able to pick it up so damn cheap.
So now, one is going back to its OG state and into storage and one is going to be "soft" modded along with my OTG setup and extra drive for PS1 and MAME/DOSBOX games that I play on it.
The best fake console so far ! Great review buddy ;-)

I ended up with a fake through Amazon, the save state pushing reset takes 30 seconds and counts up from 0% to100% when loading, completely different from the legit one.
It's great for people who already have the European or Japanese mini, this goes for $35 now, so is a solid option over the $150 original if all you want to the shell.

Damn. It’s a good thing that I managed to get the SNES Classic, and later the NES Classic when it got re-released. Hopefully this should get hacked with much better emulators. Just for curiosity, do the controllers work with the original Classic?

I bought a fake! I paused the video when you're comparing the barcodes, that's how I found out. Wish I'd seen this video beforehand. Also thought it was odd that Starfox 2 was already unlocked the first time I turned it on, that's what got me thinking.

Is there any difference between the boxes? Like spelling mistakes or something? How do you know which one is fake just by the box?
If you take a look between the to and compare them yes you see little differences, If you display it next to your other consoles you can't tell.

And how can you tell the difference? On Aliexpress they don't say "US version" or China version. How can you tell which is the fake and which is the real one just by looking online?
The insides are completely different as well. I was never able to mod the fake and it has a completely different looking PCB.

Hello, could you give us some information? Does the original snes classic mini control work on the clone? I heard that the clone has a slot for micro sd inside it's true? Is the delay in control when playing street fight corrected in any way?
So it is cloned? But is this also in the case of the PAL version?
My girfriend bought one of those from a seller that said it was the real thing two weeks ago. Today I went to her house and I was surprised to see that it wasn't the original hardware! There were a lot of differences, specially on the menus.
1) There was a text below "SUPER NINTENDO" on the main menu written something like "Wii love to play" (?!)
2) All the box arts were changed in favor of the instruction booklets for all games
3) Surprisingly enough, the version of Star Fox 2 installed on it was the beta version released years ago.
4) Most features and options didn't work, like changing languages, sort games and on-screen filters. Sometimes when I messed with those options, all games stopped working until I used the factory reset option.
5) The background image on the game selection screen didn't move at all.
It's bizarre how they went through the effort of mimicking every aspect of the console, even making wii-compatible controllers. I hope nobody falls for this kinda shit again.

I got a fake console for $100 from Amazon before a few months and didn't unbox it. Wish I've seen this video earlier :(
The fakes are really good. Mine let me change the languages, scan the QR code for manuals and play Star Fox 2 before Star Fox 1. The giveaways were…. No plastic on the parts, serial number printed (not stickered) on the box, no official nintendo power plug, different menu and Star Fox 2 artwork on menu was different and mispelled as “Star Fox2”. Hope this helps anybody looking for an original

Where you saw that mistake? In the box? I saw some being selled on aliexpress they were cheap, but no that cheap and all, they have sent me some pictures on the app, the box did not had the spelling mistake on it.

I tested it on 3x TV's it's the system itself. Maybe you got an improved version because we where one of the first to own this thing (the video was uploaded way later!)

Pixel scaling in street fighter was obviously bad. Odd because that's one thing the official SNESC succeeded at perfectly. The small thumbnails at the bottom of the game selection screen are also proportioned incorrectly.
why didn't you show both the fake's menu and the actual one's menu?

Alphons Potters out of curiosity wildchild, did you or the wicked gamer open it to see if there was a n internal sd card? A lot of the sellers advertise the 1:1 clone as having tf support for neogeo, GBA, MD etc, etc, maybe it is possible to mod like the handheld version, to add your own emulators/roms..
We did not open it but this one has not TF support as far as I know!

Smh I bought a phony snes mini. I knew something was iffy when I tried playing Mega Man X. There's a glitch that kept restarting to the beginning stage.

I have both the original and fake. I have open the controller. There is different between the controller. The game is not much different except starfox2 u can play without playing starfox1. And street fighter are a bit faster in turbo than the original. I played final fantasy 3 now on the fake version. It still play and feel like the original. So the original I keep it for display now.

Mine didn’t even come with a manual. :( I got ripped off but mine has 3,000 games though. An mine didn’t come with 2 controllers. An it doesn’t even say Super Nintendo it says something else. An my doesn’t have a nice title screen an when I play super Mario 3 the buttons aren’t right they’re fuckin backwards this fuckin cost me 200 dollars

intel386DX well, there are tons of fake Famiclones on sites like Aliexpress, and many of them look like a (near) exact copy of the Japanese Famicom, but most of them are NES-on-A-Chip type that play original Famicom games on the carts.
As far as a chinese "Famicom Mini" clone, I have yet to see the chinese knock off the "famicom mini", yet i'm sure they might be somewhere.
Oddly enough, My local V-Stock game store has Actual Japan import Famicom classics, brand new, for about $81 (US Dollars), alongside the regular, US NES Classic. (I cannot remember if the US version is $80 like the famicom, or if it's down to the $59 price you can find at walmart. )

I got mine European SNES classic as a gift years ago, now I saw this video and I'm sure it's a real one. I even added some more games and it all works. I guess, this would not be possible with the fake China-shit!
