omg thank you for showing this in Italian :D omg i never got to hear it in my language. this was so nice with the subtitles so i could understand thank you :D
I was even aware that the Italian version of "Quest for Camelot" (which is entitled "The Magic Sword" in Europe) was a reunion for the "Aladdin" cast as Aladdin and Garrett share the same voice actor, same with the Genie and Devon and Cornwall, and Kayley and Jasmine.

Wanna hear a little story about my cartoon relationship with the Genie? So, when I was a toddler, my dad took me to see Aladdin in the theater one time, and I THINK (but I'm not sure) Lorenzo was the Disney short film that played before the movie, and toddler me was TRAUMATIZED. That trauma came back when "Friend Like Me" started playing, even though those 2 are COMPLETELY UNRELATED despite the "giant blue character on a dark background" similarity. I was SO SCARED the rest of the movie. Every time I heard "Friend Like Me", I would plug my ears. Then teenager me realized that the Genie is NOT supposed to be scary, in fact he's one of, if not, THE funniest Disney characters ever. He perfectly struck my humor code, and I had a crush on him because of it. Now, as an adult, I realized that I have practically grown up to be just like the female human version of The Genie. By that, I mean I have a strong work ethic and LOVE getting tasks done for my boss, I am just as funny and cheerful as the Genie, and I sometimes break out into song and dance/crack jokes while I'm working & all of my co-workers and bosses LOVE me for it.
*makes plans for vengeance on Gigi after reading the description* Grim Reaper, why have you teamed up with 2020? As if that year wasn't worse enough. WHO'S WITH ME??? *War cry* (This is supposed to be a joke.)
I know that Robin Williams was not dubbed in Italian, in first scenes of "Mrs Doubtfire": in those scenes he is dubbing a cartoon in which a mouse is singing "Bravo bravissimo!" and we hear his own voice. The pronoucination is quite good; I can't tell if he knew what he was singing, but he was convincing, no doubt. :-)
That's because in Italian you can place the verbs almost everywhere inside the sentence and it still makes sense. The video is as accurate as it can be, since many sayings don't have a direct translation. That's why it sounds weird. It would be the same for literally any other language that uses different rules.
There are some serious problems of translation and of dubbing, especially from English to Italian and viceversa; some puns are so similar by chance, but some others need a real somersault to fit in the few moments of a speech; plus, in cartoons, characters don't breath, and, in spite of that, you have to follow them, to keep the pace of the song and to make it good, in performance and words. Some things are just impossible to put all the same in all languages. Gigi Proietti as Genie was awesome; above all this song. I don't know it, but thanks to the text below, I could sing it without any problem, as it sang by itself. "Leoni" and "Tromboni" may sound lame, but I bet it was the best they could do, with so small margin of maneuver. :-)

it sounds so much better in italian for some reason
I'm Italian and it may be because it was dubbed by one of our greatest performers, pace all'anima sua, il maestro Gigi Proietti!
Because It was dubbed by the great Gigi Proietti.
Maybe because the great Italian singer and performer Gigi Proietti sung it. The whimsical lyrics also add a certain degree of charm as well.
He’s with Robin now.
❤️🙏
Also he’s Italian so I respect this.

I don't know who is the director of Italian dubs but it make the lyrics great
In this movie, they are fairly good, but the same lyricist doesn't always blow me away
@@FlamSparks Well, you are right, for example the lyrics of Into the unknown was pretty disappointing
Not what I was talking about, because that's not the same lyricist, and the problem there was different
@@FlamSparks ok
The dub director is different from the lyricist. The lyrics are written by Ermavillo.
