They definitely didn't do the Twin any favors the way they loaded it with those anemic default settings. I remember pulling it up when I first got my Helix and thought, that doesn't sound like my Twin at all. Started going through some of the tweaks fattening up the bottom end and said "Oh yeah, there she is." Probably my number one go-to amp in the Helix.
I did a video of a real twin and recorded it seemed to be more like what I hear with the default settings, but being next to a real twin, yeh...It's a lot more bassy and full than the defaults?
I send people to your vids when they say they can’t get good amp sounds out of the HX line. I learned to dial by going over your presets and watching your vids. Thanks heaps.
I remember being really surprised at how big, full, and clear the bass was on a real Fender Twin Amp. I felt enveloped by power, like sitting in a car that is capable of going way too fast without even trying. Shocking and awesome at the same time.
I gigged a twin for a few years, one of my favourite amps. At an outdoor gig, like a festival, dime it and add some spring. With some good dirt pedals it is very versatile… until you need to play a small venue with a set of stairs💀☠️💀
These tones are just beautiful. I like how you didn't even have to use any EQ blocks to get the sounds you were looking for. I got an okay tone with this model, but not great. I'm gonna have to go back and change it up. Thanks!
As usual, really nice programming. I've never played an amp where one example could be so different from another as a Fender Twin and I'm not talking about obvious differences like different eras, or speakers. The best Twins I've played actually get great overdriven sounds that can then be put over the top with a drive pedal. At the last gig I played my lead guitarist used the house amp which was a lovely vintage Twin that belonged to the sound guy who also told my guitarist to crank it. Sounded absolutely glorious.
@@jakollee He literally prefaced it by saying, "I know you're going to be surprised to hear this, but turn that amp up!" He had it firing across the stage so it wasn't killing the people in front. My little Fender '57 Deluxe had a hard time keeping up, but it was a great sounding gig for both the band and the audience.
Yeah. Tweaking the presets with HBs (x-trem) and getting these tasty Santana-ish tones. Which normally I go to the Soldano. I'm using my PRS Paul's which allows for the luxury of working the pups in both single and bucker states for ez comps.
Hi I have a quick question. I know that I could probably find the answer to the question on your channel but I don't really want to scroll through 1650 videos today lol. What do you use for listening to the hx stomp when you are playing or making new patches? Studio monitors? Powered speakers? Effects loop of an amp?
John is this preset in one of your preset bundles. I downloaded the general Helix bundle of yours, but I did not see it. Really interested in this set of presets. Just got a Helix, learning the ropes.
I found it, thank you. I still cannot get a sound like yours, I am running through a power cab plus, would they sound better if I was running through 2 or a pair of studio monitors, only play at home, do not play out.
Hi John, great video! I just purchased the link to the helix/hxstomp presets, but at first glance I could not find the Twin presets from the video. Is it possible that they are not (yet) in the folders, or did their names change by any chance? Cheers, Niko
Hope you see this, despite the video being over a week old. Just wondering, on my new strat I'm more gainy and bassy and I tried setting input from inst to line and got a bit closer. Are you using the same and are your other global settings default? Might be me just being very new to strats being a LP and tele guy for years
Storm Trooper Stomp and side knee two days in a row. You little exhibitionist. Next thing you know you gonna be showing us elbows and the back of the guitar headstock. Lol. Get hold of yourself man.

Please drop this one in the folder. I really enjoyed this one.
You never cease to impress. Well done like always

I LOVE your dialing in vids! Thank you!

Recently switched over from the Deluxe to the Twin as my main amp for my live rig and been loving it
Just bought a used hx stomp and i am revisiting your videos. I am finding lots of interesting por information
Thanks!
Beautiful tone
Congratulations man

1:23 aha wait I thought it was the famous Guthrie line catch from a famous serie than I don’t remember (it’s a saxophone line)
This is more than ampsettings. This is ASMR :)

A sound guy told your guitarist to crank the amp? That’s a pretty rare experience!

It would be amazing if you could do a demo with the new UA pedals!

I second this question.
Would love to know as well.

Awesome video thanks for sharing. Are you playing through an interface, an amp or something else?
You better play bro!!!🔥🔥🔥
Folder please! 🤘

This sounds great! What do you use for playback?
At the end of the lead part did you go from position 2 to 5?
Can we get this or close to this tone in pod go?

Some nice sounds. Do you have a "Best Amps in the Helix" Playlist?

please drop it
I think you will end up listing all the amps as "One of the best amps in the Helix" 😂
Jajajajajaja i think the same
I've already been through them 6 times ha
Bro I was thinking I was going to trade my helix for a kemper but his videos is changing my mind lol
