I actually like the Twin model (I usually play the Nrm one) but this preset sounds amazing. So much closer to the real thing, or at least how the real thing sounds in my head. Thanks for this! You made a lot of choices I wouldn't have thought of and they completely pay off.
Just so happened to do a Twin video the other day JNC and I included the capture I did for NAM from my real 65 Twin (original, not reissue or anything). It is there in the description if you'd like to get it. No pressure and no need to reply... but I would feel wrong not mentioning it. Used to gig a Twin and it was a beast to carry, so that Helix is a lot lighter! Ha ha. Take care. Oh, and there is a MID control on the Twin
I think the soldano clean channel has given me a better twin tone through the fender twin cab than the twin itself. This sounds awesome though. Not surprised. Thanks John.
The default fender twin in my podgo sounds like I just plugged my guitar directly in to the sound board. Flat . However with a little tweaking I have gotten pleasing tones out of it. Not sure what line6 was thinking.
How can I get/buy your patches for the Pod Go using a European pay method. So NOT Paypal or whatever I see on the site? I can pay online but it looks like you do not service European customers? Input is greatly appreciated, I like your patches/sounds.
Wait, have I gone nuts? Watching John say these amps don't usually have a mid control. I thought blackface twins always had a mid control and the smaller deluxe and princetons didn't. Settings sound great either way.
@@neal_laugman You keep saying “Twin Reverb Deluxe” in your comments. The Twin Reverb and Deluxe are two very different amps. There is no Fender amp called “Twin Reverb Deluxe”.
@@neal_laugman Not necessarily. Depends on how many effects you like to run with a base tone. I have a full Helix and a Stomp XL. I max out my Helix as I run multiple delays and Reverbs along with 3 stages of gain. One the Stomp XL I am using creative ways to use it but have to cut back on alot of stuff. The Stomp has a max of 8 blocks and 1/2 the DSP of the Helix.

I've always found the twin in helix to be completely lifeless and bland. It's what I use as the default amp in my templates. When I create a new patch I'll copy my template, and immediately change out the amp and cab.
@@eeeewalk I haven't tried pedals into HX twins but the American sound takes them well! I just wish I was capable of doing the speaker sim mod so I could disable and do IRs the proper way.
The Helix editor UI makes my eyes bleed. (Okay, hyperbole, but…) Nothing is obvious at a glance. Looks more like what I like to have behind the scenes as a developer when tweaking parameter ranges. Anyhow, I appreciate companies that put great thought into the cleaner amps, both in terms of real world use and subtlety of gain structure. So integral to so many signal chains! Maybe some of the Helix team folks will listen to you, John, as I agree, the default doesn’t ring true as a model. Cheers mates, D

I've always found to just push it
till it begins to sound muscular and beefy. Gets the Iron into its innards. But generally just play with it.
To me, a good Fender Twin sounds like how sitting in front of a toasty fire on a cold night feels.
I played with a guy who hsd a Twin Reverb Deluxe and a Tele. Drove me nuts watching him try to get a ballsy sound ftom that setup.

You are correct.
Not sur, but you may be getting the Twin Reverb Deluxe confused with the blackface

It could but wont have room for anything else, like a real Delay, OD, or reverbs, other than the ones he is using for the base tone

line 6 fender models are lacking
On a scale of joyo American sound to real fender twin how bad is it?
I find the American Sound takes dirt pedals much better than the Helix Twin models!
